Role Description:

The Backup is linked with a specific primary role and will passively inherit that role if the player who has it should ever die, while the backup is still alive.

Notes:

I.e. a "Vigilante Backup" will become Vigilante if a/the Vigilante dies, etc. A "Doctor Backup" is sometimes called a Nurse and a "Cop Backup" is sometimes called a Deputy. This role is commonly used to reduce swinginess in games.
