The Gambler may each night submit a guess as to who they think will be eliminated the next day phase. If their guess ends up being correct, they are rewarded with a 1-shot Vigilante kill to be used on any night of their choice.
The Gambler may usually keep earning rewards, though they are often only allowed to shoot one person per night. In other words, the Gambler is typically not allowed to save up kills and use them all on one night. Also, hosts may decide to reward the Gambler with a different prize than outlined here. A common variant on the Gambler role is one that must correctly guess someone who will be nightkilled the next night phase, in which case it often has to be specifically the player killed by the mafia faction kill (i.e. no reward is earned if the target was killed by a Vigilante, for example). An improved Gambler might even be able to choose between guessing the next lynch or mafia nightkill, or they might be able to submit one name per night and receive a reward if the player is killed by any means during the next day or night phase.
