The Motivator may each night target a player, allowing them one extra use of any action available to them on the following night.
I.e. if the Motivator uses their action on a Cop on Night 1, that Cop will be able to investigate two players on Night 2. However, if for example the Motivator targets a 2-shot Vigilante on Night 2 who doesn't have any shots left on Night 3, the target will not be able to shoot Night 3, since they have no actions available to them on that night. It varies whether or not the targeted player will be informed that they have extra use of their action at the beginning of the following day phase or next night phase. However, a host will usually only inform players with a night action that they have been motivated and for this reason you might want to hold off on informing the targeted player until the following night phase if you are running a role madness game that somehow allows for people to gain abilities during day phases. In any case, be sure to let the Motivator know when their target is informed that they have been motivated. A different variant of the Motivator is one that submits their action during day, which might be a more smooth way of handling the role, though it does also make the ability unblockable, which should be considered for balance. The Motivator is almost always a town-aligned role.
