The White Mage may protect another player every other night, which will leave that player unable to be killed for two nights.
I.e. if the White Mage protects Player A on Night 1, that person is protected on both Night 1 and Night 2. The White Mage is then able to protect a new player on Night 3, which usually cannot be the same player that they already protected. A more powerful version of this role may protect a player every night, but this is usually considered bad design regardless of how the rest of the setup is designed.
