so apparently this happened an entire month ago and I just missed it
nobody tells me anything
green is not a creative color
He was the best of us, to be honest.
If I recall correctly, which I usually do, teal was kind of an unofficial "mod training color" in that potential blues who were active mostly on Discord could pick up the slack there since a lot of the blues at the time didn't want to be entirely responsible for the Discord for a wide variety of reasons. So in that sense, there was a purpose beyond just delineating who best to come to with problems on either the site or Discord. As time went on that hasn't really been what we've used the role for and honestly teals may as well be blues at this point, I agree.
I don't think anything I said just now mattered at all what the whatever I'm leaving it in
The big issue we face is one that's hard to deal with, honestly:
Ara's the senior teal and she loves that color
So anyway in conclusion: I don't think there has to be a distinction but personally I don't care that there is one. And I feel somewhat apathetic to the whole situation because I don't find colors particularly confusing and only really take umbrage with one color.
Gold.No I'm serious I'm actually unreasonably annoyed by the existence of the Golden God role, couldn't tell you why.
agreed- blue is such a delicate-looking color
what's the deal with Allund
ok but can I still go to her for issues that need a Community Contributor
it's gonna hurt not having you Nego, though I want you to have what's best for you
thank you for all that you've done
but Cory couldn't be yellowbird, I see how it is, Purple Privilege on full display
Staff Changes and Structural Shenanigans
Ahoy ahoy ahoy!
Skulking in the shadows as we are known to do, the mod team has been fiddling with mechanics and gizmos and fine-tuning ourselves in secret, searching for the recipe for the perfect pasta sauce of site management. We weren't able to do that, but we decided to go with a backup plan we thought was pretty nifty.
Now instead of one Purple, we have three! What does this mean? For us, it means a whole lot of baloney. For you, it means two things: There should in most cases always be a Purple online, and things being streamlined on the back end means issues will be handled faster than ever. If you ever need a Purple for anything, you can hit one up via PM, Discord PM, or at the email address email@example.com, the latter being where any appeals should be sent if possible. All Purples have sworn a sacred oath to check their email at least once every two years or so.
As a part of this structural shift, smilefires is promoting himself from Purple to Blue. In his stead, Nego, Ampharos, and myself (lute) have formed the Purple triumvirate. By the time you're reading this the OP should be updated to reflect these changes.
Also here's the official announcement that bearsquared has been demoted from Teal to Blue.
I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the distinction between Purple and Blue is virtually non-existent. The only reason we actually do make a distinction is for the sake of visibility. Don't get the idea that instructions from a Blue carry less weight than a Purple's or whatever. Purples are just Blues with less common sense and more fashion sense.
Let's give everybody a big hand!
