From my PoV it's easier to moderate now, the rules are clearer and I think the amount of flake-related sign up bans has been *less* than it usually is during a 5 month period? But if there's been actual negative consequences outside of not liking the rule, I'd like to know.

Granted I agree the actual process of adding roles to each could be a little less confusing if you're manually adding abilities to each, but they do give you a preset option for JOAT
I mean I've had both in a game and it wasn't that hard to figure out. You select the power roles for Inventor/JOAT even before you add the role in mod bot so you know what each role is going to have.
In the case that the King Maker selects someone that can't be King due to their role ect, the other choice will become King and I will RNG between all other able players as the backup.

King Maker
You Are The King Maker. Starting n0 and for each following day the King Maker will PM the host with two names. The first name will be selected to ascend to the throne as the first King to start the game d1. The second name will serve as the backup King in case of the first King's death by any means. The new King will be announced each day in thread before the day begins. You may not select yourself for either role. You may also not select the same person twice for the main role of King , unless there is less then 7 or fewer players alive in the game. If you are killed by execution or assassination a new Pro-Kingdom person will be selected to become the new King Maker. You will win when all Assassins have been killed.

Assassin
You are one of the assassins. Since your plot to take the throne quietly has failed, you will take it by force by eliminating the townsfolk until you outnumber the populace. Each night, you may talk with your fellow assassins and choose another player in the town to kill that night. To the populace, you appear like normal townsfolk, which earns you the right to become the King, if the Kingmaker so chooses. However, you will never have the opportunity to become the Kingmaker. You win when your group has equal or greater numbers to the rest of the town.
