Hi! FFShrine was a forum that thrived through the 2000s but slowly burnt out and was eventually shut down in 2019. We never played Werewolf, but we had a number of on-going music-themed forum games that we managed to keep alive by relocating to SquidBoard and then eventually Mafia Universe, where we've been running them in the Other Games sub-forum. You can dive into @arthurgolden's VGM Knock Out Tournament any time of the year, and each spring I host a Final Fantasy song tournament. We'll be kicking off it's 10 year anniversary in just a couple of months, and the year-round tournament has been running continuously for almost 14.
Running these requires a fair bit of planning, and Amy and co did us the courtesy of setting up this sub-forum so that we can centralize that more robustly than we were able to before. The pacing is often slow, but we've endured more than enough break points that lulls in activity don't worry me and I have pretty high confidence it will continue to run for years to come.
The format of the games are knock-out tournaments that pair songs or soundtracks head to head, participants voting on their preferences. If you just clicked here out of curiosity, nothing is required to join in; just go vote! If you would like to piece together your own themed bracket, have at it! That's the primary purpose of this sub-forum. You might want to check to see if it's something that's been done before, but I don't think anyone would be averse to repeating a theme if you can draw in some new participants interested in playing it out.
