Sticky: Game Thread The investigation team concluded that benneh and...

The investigation team concluded that benneh and bopolis were suspicious, and investigated their possessions. They found a folder containing two strange documents.

    The first reads as follows:

Whether we win the game or lose the game is beside the argument. You shooting me, if you are a villager, is probably the worst single ITA shot in the history of ITA shots that I have ever seen, in my entire life, in 3 years, on MU, on POG, and I've been a host for 2 of them and played dozens. It is potentially one of the most anti-town actions I've laid my eyes on in my entire WW career. It is atrocious, dumbfounding, and inexcusable, and close to the border of gamethrowing. And sullies your entire effort to the game, so that your biggest contribution to the game is one in which you are literally indistinguishable to an outted wolf whose team has been decimated so far. Indeed, if you are a villager then wolves got an extra wolf, meaning that YOU ALONE are responsible for making this setup wolfsided. Think about that for a second.
The second appears to be a recipe:

    Scallion Pancakes
    INGREDIENTS
    Dough
    2 cups (300 g) all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup boiling water
    1/4 cup cool water
    Filling
    1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons (50 g) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup peanut oil (or your favorite oil like olive oil, melted coconut oil, melted butter, or melted chicken fat etc.)
    3/4 teaspoon salt
8 to 10 green onions , split down the middle and chopped (yield 1 cup)
    Cooking
    Vegetable oil for pan frying
    Dipping Sauce (Optional)
    1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Chinkiang vinegar (or rice vinegar)
    1/4 teaspoon sugar
    INSTRUCTIONS
    Make the dough
OPTION 1 - USING YOUR HANDS: Combine the flour and salt in a big bowl. Stir to mix well. Slowly drizzle in the hot water while mixing it with a pair of chopsticks (or a fork), until the water is fully absorbed. Slowly drizzle in the cool water, continuing to stir until many dough flakes form. Press the dough together, and try to combine the wet dough with the dry flour. Drizzle in a little extra water if there is any dry flour remaining. Knead until a firm ball is formed, about 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
OPTION 2 - USING A MIXER: Combine the flour and salt in the mixer bowl with the dough hook attachment. Turn it to the mix setting and slowly drizzle in the hot water followed by the cool water. After a minute of mixing, drizzling in a little extra water if there is any dry flour remaining. Turn to setting 4 and knead until a ball of dough is formed, about 3 minutes. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
    Make the filling
While the dough is resting, combine the flour, oil, and salt in a small bowl. Mix until a smooth paste is formed.
If making the dipping sauce, combine all the ingredients with 1 tablespoon of water in a small bowl and mix until the sugar is dissolved.
    Form the scallion pancakes
When the dough is done resting, knead for another minute until it is smooth. Cut the dough into 6 even pieces, about 76 grams per piece. Form the dough into balls using your hands.
Work on one dough ball at a time, covering the rest with plastic wrap to prevent drying out. Roll each dough ball into a thin rectangle with a rolling pin, aiming for around 6x10” (15x25 cm). Lift and turn the dough regularly as you roll it to prevent sticking. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling onto the dough and spread it evenly with the back of a spoon, leaving about 1” (2.5 cm) on top and the left end without the filling. Sprinkle 2 heaping tablespoons of green onions onto the paste, concentrating most of it towards one side of the length and one side of the width, creating a loose L shape (see the blog post above for the step-by-step pictures).
Begin rolling the dough from the longer side of the dough where the green onions are concentrated, until you have one long tube. Lightly flatten the tube using your hand. Pinch the side with more green onion to seal it. Take the sealed side and gently pull and roll it towards the unsealed side, using your hand to smooth out the dough to push any large air bubbles out. Tuck the loose end under the rolled bun. Gently press down on the round disk with your hand to seal the pancake.
Set the formed pancake aside and cover it with plastic wrap. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until each pancake is ready.
    Roll out the pancake
Roll each prepared pancake into a circle, about 7-8” (17-20 cm) wide. Flip and move it as you do to prevent sticking. Don’t worry if air bubbles burst through or some green onions fall out.
If you plan to store the pancakes and cook them later, place each pancake onto a piece of parchment paper and stack them. Transfer the pancakes to a large ziplock bag, squeeze out as much air as possible, and seal the bag. You can freeze the pancakes for up to 3 months.
    Cook the pancakes
Heat a 9” (23 cm) cast iron pan (or a nonstick skillet) over medium-high heat and add enough oil to fully coat the bottom. Once the oil is hot, add a pancake. Use a pair of chopsticks (or a spatula) to swirl the pancake around to spread the oil and prevent sticking, for a few seconds. Cover the pan and turn the heat down to medium. Let the pancake cook, covered, for 1 minute. Remove the lid and flip the pancake, cover, and cook for another minute. Remove the lid. Use a spatula to press the pancake, to ensure even browning. Continue to cook, flipping regularly, until both sides are crisp and browned, about 3 minutes. Turn to medium-low heat if the pan gets too hot. Transfer the pancake to a cooling rack or a cutting board to cool. Repeat to cook all the pancakes you plan to serve.
Once the pancakes are slightly cooled enough to handle, cut into 6 pieces and transfer to a serving platter. Serve hot with the dipping sauce as an appetizer.
    Cook frozen pancakes
Let the frozen pancakes thaw for 10 minutes then proceed from step 8.
    Store and reheat cooked pancakes
Place the leftover pancakes in a ziplock bag by stacking them together. Store in the fridge up to 3 days. To reheat, add a pancake to a pan and heat over medium heat, cook, flip occasionally until the pancakes turn warm throughout.

Sticky: Game Thread The bodies of JohnCarter and Wisdom were found in...

The bodies of JohnCarter and Wisdom were found in the kitchen of the Mafia University dining hall along with two slips of paper.

    The first reads as follows:

I can't believe this is happening.

Everyone is SHEEPING EACH OTHER. I thought this was a joke before, due to the amount of sheeping their was, but literally everyone on the wagon is sheeping except whomever JohnCarter said they were following (even though that person did not provide an explanation).
NO ONE HAS AN ACTUAL REASON TO VOTE ON WISDOM.

    No argument has been presented.
    No reasoning has been given.
No one has any idea why they're voting.

Guys, if there isn't a reason to vote for someone, you shouldn't vote on them

I know I'm being a bit dramatic, but this is legitimately the dumbest lynch train I've ever seen. It almost makes me want to shove it through for the lolz, but that would defeat the spirit of the game, so instead, I'll tell y'all this:

Don't vote on somebody for no reason. It's dumb. Stop it. Hell, lynch me if you want, at least I have a couple of posts that people think are sus. Just don't vote someone for no reason.
The second appears to be a recipe:

    Braised Lamb Ragu
    2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 ½ pounds lamb shoulder, excess fat trimmed and diced into 1-inch cubes (see Recipe Notes)
    2 medium carrots, finely diced
    1 stalk celery, finely diced
1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
    2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup dry red wine (such as Chianti)
    1 cup low-sodium beef stock
    1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
    2 bay leaves
    1 sprig fresh rosemary
    8–10 sprigs fresh thyme
kosher salt and ground black pepper, to season
    for Braised Lamb Ragu Pasta:

16–24 ounces pasta (pappardelle, bucatini, rigatoni, etc.) or gnocchi
1/4 – 1/3 cup grated parmesan (roughly 1 tablespoon per serving)
¼ – 1/3 cup heavy cream (roughly 1 tablespoon per serving)
for serving, as desired: additional grated parmesan, finely chopped fresh herbs, etc.
    INSTRUCTIONS
Lamb ragu ingredients arranged on a light blue surface: dried pappardelle nests, onion, beef stock, garlic, bay leaves, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, celery, carrots, wine, herbs & lamb shoulder.

Brown the lamb shoulder: Add 1 tablespoon of the olive oil to a heavy-bottomed pot with a lid over medium-high heat (I use a 4-qt Dutch oven). Use paper towel to pat the lamb as dry as possible, then season generously with 1 teaspoon each kosher salt & ground black pepper. Add the seasoned lamb to the Dutch oven and cook until deeply browned on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Work in batches as needed to avoid overcrowding the pot, which prevents browning. Transfer the lamb to a plate and set aside. At this point, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.Browned lamb shoulder in a large Dutch oven atop a light blue surface.
Cook the aromatics: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the pot & reduce the heat to medium. Once the oil is hot & shimmers, add in the onion, carrots, and celery, seasoning with 1 teaspoon kosher salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the veggies are softened & deeply browned, 15-20 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, stirring to coat the veggies, and cook for 1-2 minutes more, caramelizing the tomato paste.Tomato paste & aromatics mixed into browned soffritto in a large Dutch oven atop a light blue surface.
Deglaze: Slowly pour the red wine into the Dutch oven, using a wooden spoon to scrape up the browned bits that have formed at the bottom of the pot – that’s where all the flavor is! Let the red wine reduce by about half (this goes by quickly!), then pour in the beef stock, crushed tomatoes, and the herbs. I like to use kitchen twine to tie them into a little bundle for easy removal. Return the lamb to the Dutch oven.Lamb ragu sauce prior to braising - browned lamb shoulder, & fresh herbs sitting in crushed tomato mixture in large Dutch oven atop a light blue surface.
Braise: Cover the Dutch oven and place it in the oven to braise for 2 – 2 ½ hours. When it’s ready, the lamb should shred very easily – it’ll be tender enough that you should be able to shred it right in the ragu by using the back of a wooden spoon. Remove the Dutch oven from the oven. Remove & discard the spent bay leaves & herbs. Shred the lamb & stir to combine. At this point, you can cool & store for later use (see Recipe Notes for storage & freezing instructions), or proceed with prepping lamb ragu pappardelle or gnocchi (below).Braised lamb ragu in a large Dutch oven atop a light blue surface.
    Braised Lamb Ragu Pasta:

Boil the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi or pasta to al dente according to package directions. Before draining, carefully dip a liquid measuring cup into the pot, reserving about 1 cup of the starchy pasta water & set aside. Carefully drain the pasta (or gnocchi) & set aside – do NOT rinse hot pasta/gnocchi!
Finish the Braised Lamb Ragu sauce: Meanwhile, as the pasta boils, bring the braised pork ragu to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream & grated parmesan. Reduce heat to low & continue to simmer, stirring occasionally as needed.Reheating lamb ragu with heavy cream in a small skillet. The skillet sits atop a light blue surface.
Lamb ragu pasta: Add the al dente pasta or gnocchi to the simmering ragu sauce, tossing to coat such that the pasta is evenly coated in sauce. If the ragu is thick & needs to loosen up some, drizzle in some of the reserved starchy pasta water. If the pasta is loose & needs to thicken up some, sprinkle in some extra grated parm. Cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, until the pasta or gnocchi absorbs some of the ragu & the ragu clings to the pasta or gnocchi beautifully. Prepping lamb ragu pappardelle: pappardelle pasta tossed into lamb ragu sauce in a small skillet atop a light blue surface.
Serve: Portion the lamb ragu pasta into individual pasta bowls. Finish with some grated parm or finely chopped herbs as desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

The investigation team concluded that Rokon and Appelsiini were suspicious, and investigated their possessions. They found a folder containing two strange documents.

    The first reads as follows:

I really do think there is a generational gap here between myself and a lot of others playing this game. My therapist tells me I am an "old soul" and the the younger generation typically finds thing funny according to their feelings rather than logic. This is because the frontal cortex of the brain isn't fully developed until about 25 years old. So people generally don't understand what humor actually is until about that age. And Kissa is conflicting themselves by saying there is 34.5 hours left in the day but knowing where their vote is going to end up already.
    ...Well that's odd huh.

The second appears to be a recipe:

Tilapia, Fettuccine, and Asparagus with Cilantro Lime Cream Sauce
    Ingredients:
    Tilapia, 1 fillet per person
    Butter, couple tbsp
    Salt and pepper
    Lotsa lotsa garlic
Fettuccine (idk however much per person, does anyone measure pasta)
Asparagus (idk however much per person, like 1 bunch for 2 ppl but depends on the size)
    Olive oil
Heavy cream (for 2 ppl I usually use a bit over a cup, I like a *lot* of sauce on this dish!)
Chives or scallions if you have em but not super essential
    ~1 bunch fresh cilantro
Lime juice (1 actual lime or a few generous squeezes of the bottled stuff)

Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking pan with foil, melt butter and brush all over both sides of fish, season with salt and pepper, and bake for ~25 minutes.
Meanwhile boil water to cook the fettuccine, and heat olive oil in a skillet; snap bottoms off asparagus and mince a couple cloves of garlic and saute them up + maybe cover pan part of the time to steam a lil until asparagus is browned/tender. Remove to a plate and cover to keep warm. Don't clean the pan, leave whatever remnants of olive oil/garlic are in it and add more of both, cook on medium. No such thing as too much garlic. Pour cream into the pan and actually don't be afraid to let it boil a bit to reduce and thicken, which may take several minutes. Add salt and pepper. Once cream has thickened, chop up your cilantro and stir it in, then add plenty of lime juice so it's nice and tangy.
Serve pasta onto plates with asparagus on the side, place the baked fish fillet right on top of the pasta and pour sauce generously all over the whole dish. Goes great with pinot gris.

Pregame Flavor: A Recipe for Disaster?

A chilly evening in late November. A pair of Mafia University students approach the campus dining hall, weary and ravenous from a day of rigorous research for their Wolfhunting 301 final. A sign on the entrance alerts them to tonight's special: ravioli with a side of salad! Hungrily they throw open the door -- and are promptly greeted by a bloody scene. A murder. The hefty handle of a butcher's cleaver sticks out from the chest of the body -- which appears to have once been an employee of the institution, a chef. The students recoil at the horrific sight. Then, gingerly, they peer more closely and spot first the victim's nametag -- Chef Paprika Sloonei -- and then a slip of paper. As one of the pair begins to dial for emergency services, the other leans over to read what they can without touching anything, and can only discern that the note has the heading: A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO PLAYER SALAD. Curious, they thought. Then one more piece of paper caught their eye -- on the ground next to the body. It appeared to be the recipe for tonight's ravioli special. With another strange header.

This was such a vibe. Honestly me n my g were just vibing with our pasta. do ya guys just know the vibe? CUZ I DO. the pasta was delectable and made me just roll around my house pretending to be a meatball. U guys should join us one day. #vibegod
As odd as that seemed, the recipe continued on:

    Ingredients
    5 to 5-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    6 large eggs
    1/2 cup water
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    sauce:
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
    1-1/2 cups tomato puree
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1/3 cup water
    1/3 cup tomato paste
    3 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
    1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
    1 tablespoon minced fresh oregano
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    filling:
1 carton (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
    1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    2 teaspoons minced fresh basil
    1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
    1 teaspoon minced fresh oregano
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper

    Directions
Place 5 cups flour in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. Beat the eggs, water and oil; pour into well. Stir together, forming a ball. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 4-6 minutes, adding remaining flour if necessary to keep dough from sticking. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
In a large bowl, combine filling ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Divide pasta dough into fourths; roll 1 portion to 1/16-in. thickness. (Keep pasta covered until ready to use.) Working quickly, place rounded teaspoons of filling 1 in. apart over half of pasta sheet. Fold sheet over; press down to seal. Cut into squares with a pastry wheel. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
Bring a soup kettle of salted water to a boil. Add ravioli. Reduce heat to a gentle simmer; cook until ravioli float to the top and are tender, 1-2 minutes. Drain. Spoon sauce over ravioli.

    Source: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/homemade-ravioli/

*May use the homemade ravioli from above (minus the sauce) instead of the included storebought recommendation.

    Ingredients:
~2 packages of ravioli, whatever your favorite kinds are but we usually do Rana brand 1 bag of mushroom and 1 bag of butternut squash or sometimes just mushroom (generally would recommend a savory filling that's not just cheese; mushroom is my favorite, and if you can find Rana brand it’s great tbh) (or it could be homemade if you're super fancy)
    Olive oil
A whole bunch of green beans
    A whole bunch of garlic
    A handful of pine nuts
(Optional) a couple pieces of bacon chopped into little pieces
A whole bunch of parmesan cheese
    Black pepper

Slice some or all of the garlic real thin so it’ll get crispy, can also mince some. Trim the green beans. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook up the garlic and green beans til lightly browned/desired tenderness, salt to taste.
    Meanwhile boil ravioli
If using bacon add to pan with green beans and let cook fully. Add pine nuts and toss until lightly browned. When ravioli is cooked, drain it and add to the pan, let a few of them get a bit of a crispy side. Grate a bunch of parmesan and pepper on top and stir it all up. Divide into bowls and add yet more parmesan and pepper. Enjoy!

    Source: a nutella original!!!

Only after observing this did the students notice a third piece of paper on the scene -- it was behind the murder weapon, affixed with blood to Sloonei's formerly white chef attire. In an angry scrawl it read "RECIPE THIEF" followed by a longer diatribe in very small print:

Nutella just isn't a wolf this game. i don't think she's capable of doing what she's doing this game as a wolf. she's untouchable, she's solvey, and she's a queen. i think the plausibility of a wolf actually reaching the thread status that she has in this game is incredibly low, and i think it's telling that the most likely reason the wolves haven't contested nutella being a villager is the fact that they can't really approach her comfortably. sure, i suppose she has also been somewhat on the wshe should almost certainly be the first vt to die, and if she isn't, maybe you can reconsider at that point. however, nutella is just a villager. she just is.
Now, the students thought, this seemed a bit overdefensive. Given the "recipe thief" accusation and the nearby recipe by nutella herself, it would only take a 100-level student in Wolfhunting to surmise that nutella was the primary suspect for the murder. They would bring her to justice.

    -----

Despite her perfectly good pasta recipe, nutella was an IMPASTA!

But stay vigilant, students of Mafia University and fellow enjoyers of PASTA, for there may be more IMPASTAS among us......

    Sólstafir - Berdreyminn

Loved the track you subbed to my walrus, and the album proves to be more of the same hype. It's good. I enjoy it a lot. It's really well mixed, pleasing balance of propelling drums and clean guitar with some lovely reverb, and the vocal style is expressive and really meshes well with everything. The slower parts like Hula are gorgeous and make the whole album itself quite balanced and appealing to listen through -- the flowing more atmospheric elements, the piano, addition of different vocals, very comfortable vibes, building back up to the epic louder/drum-heavy parts. I really appreciate the structure of the album, starts off loud/fast to suck the listener in, then the middle few tracks start out slow and gradually bring back the hype. Keeps me immersed and it's always so exciting when the drums really kick in. And concluding with the familiar and awesome Bláfjall, I love the drums in it so much aaaaaaa. Lots of really epic moments, really pretty album, ty soah!

I think @roro__b would really like this too tbh

From the first few minutes of instrumentals I was expecting to be treated to some lovely dreampop vocals... but when the actual vocals arrived they were pretty jarring. I don't think they fit the music and they generally just made the music worse for me at every moment they were present. For a while this didn't really bother me too much because there was enough other stuff going on, including a fair number of loud noises. But then the tracks got increasingly minimalistic and vocal-driven and really just missed my musical tastes all around. As soon as I started googling the band I realized there was a good chance I'd like their first two albums more than this one and maybe the other two as well. I'm listening to their debut now. It's beautiful. She actually has a nice voice. This is great. I'll revisit this one. Now I'm listening to their second album. It's pleasant background music but only a few of the tracks are really drawing my attention. After the album you sent me they signed to a metal label and got reviewed favorably by my preferred metal website. I was worried she'd continue with the bad vocals, but they seem okay again here. This is still pretty minimalist but it's working much better for me. Even the quiet parts have an underlying tension, the loud parts are crushing, and the overall experience is much more cohesive. Ooh, she's got some air in her lungs now. Guitarist seems to have been listening to a lot of Isis or something. Drumming is punkish, though. I think I like the debut better than this one, but this one is certainly more compelling. And I can't believe how much her vocals have improved between the third and fourth albums. Album is a total one-trick pony, but it's a good trick, and if you only have four songs then maybe that's all you need. The last song was the weakest. I'm mildly annoyed that the reviewer said it's impossible not to give this album your full attention and then that's literally what happened to me when I wasn't planning to listen actively. On to the last album. First track dispensed with minimalism and was giving me Downfall of Gaia/Cult of Luna vibes. Now it's getting boring. And staying boring. At least this one is short. The final track is coming to life, but it's not enough to save this album.

Coming back again to the album you actually sent me and yeah, I have no idea why she's singing that way. I don't like it. The rumbling bass on the first track is nice and the noodley guitar works really well, and those drum parts are effective. If the whole album had continued this way I could have put up with the vocals. But I know that it doesn't, and a bit of spot-checking is confirming to me that a second listen isn't going to go any better than the first. She sounds like she's singing out of tune or something. I honestly think she's just singing bad and that it's not just a me thing. This has to be some sort of stylistic decision, but I just don't understand it.

tbh I don't know why you picked this album. Three of their others ranged from good to great.
Lmao you didnt like it but went above and beyond the assignment. Anyway interesting feedback, looking forward to listening to yours

I only put them in the first week so they're not there but I put like... albums that you associate with mafia, or albums you associate with a specific memory or time of year or something, and uhh I think a couple other good ones so I hope quas still has them lol
