I remember being a wolf in both of the last iterations of champs games I was in, so I have no idea how to read practically any of you.

    I KNOW RIGHT?

All a guy has to do is wake up and then boom, suddenly everyone trusts him completely!

The things that happen in these games
Doesn't seem like the bother of being awake is worth it

If trafficone is NOT tappokone, then I will be sorely disappointed. What a perfect Pokemon evolution.

I just responded to Pizza asking.

Seconded. Pizza you haven't been posting much other than saying that you won't be able to post later and no one is posting

    +1 village points to dwetzel.
I get that, but if you look at the timestamps, you'll see not much was happening when the game opened.

Now there's posts, many of them and more frequent, but at the time the style was onion around your belt, five bees for a quarter, we'd say.

You youngsters don't know how good you have it. In my day none of the villagers posted anything, we had to vote using psychic powers.

I'm assuming it's Tappo - hence my joke.

Not sure I can read any of you (except maybe Tommy) beyond general reads, until I at least try.

I'm trying to think of a good analogy for my Tommy read, or what I at least think it is. I thought of nudity and trapeze, but I couldnt suss it out fully. Probably better I wait until we actually really play anyway.

Observation: Murphs posts to date have a sense of humor to them I don't remember from last game.

Disclaimer: I should probably look at openings from last game and what he was before I put much stock in that.

I wonder if people's metas have changed since the champs games

I've decided I'm going to base much of my reads off of reading previous iterations of all of your games. Also because no one is here and I'm bored

I'll give my results at the end of the day.

I had games where villagers 0 posted by the group and let wolves 0 post also and it was majority lynch

the games were literally LITERALLY decided entirely by night actions.

I think my observation about murph being a lot more serious opening in the champs finale game is very correct, btw, and he was a vanilla villager there

I doubt that means a ton because lol mornings of day 1 but there you go.

    Ah. No, it isn't useful.

Well, technically speaking, being polite creates a relaxed atmosphere of interaction where people are encouraged to post and, in the longer term, even play more. With more players, there will be more games played and overall the skill level of the people playing in those games will rise more, resulting in higher-level play in general. I would argue that wolves have it the easiest when all players are complete rookies, and their job gets more difficult as the general level of skill increases, though this is nothing more but conjecture based on one person's experiences. If it is true, however, then that'd mean my action is useful in the sense that it helps Town not in just this game but every future game touched by the 'mafia-cone' of the players here via elevating the average skill level of all players to some immeasurably small amount.

Sure, but I asked you to explain the usefulness of the move, not how it warms your heart to have done so.

I read those responses the same way, actually.

It's not just that the response is wordy, so much as I don't totally believe that's a real answer to why he found it useful to open that way.

It seems like a response for the sake of responding to me rather than a genuine answer to my question.

That's a fairly thin read, admittedly.

    Greetings, my fellow universians.

I'm so honored that you've chosen me.

    It's my turn, you know.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep up with the game.

Because of this I've decided to claim my role:

I am the even night vigilante.

No, I won't be killing anyone today, but I know the people in this game underestimate me and therefore won't be killing me anytime soon.

I'd like it if, throughout the game, you could just quote me and tell me who you think I should kill when I have the chance.

Give me your reasoning along with any relevant quotes and I'll see if I consider the reasoning good enough.

If you don't quote me, I won't respond.

Don't be sad though: I love you all.

    -Cue

The point is that the post wasn't meant to be useful for solving, it was just a joking response to Pizza's prompt meant as a greeting. I find your question strange and waaaaay too try-hard. :P

    Hello Monstr,

You don't believe that could be a sarcastic response?

Due to the nature of the question he was responding to being simple, a long-winded answer could be conceived as "humor".

I'm not reading it as a response from humor, no, and I don't think I'm wrong.

I also don't think it condemns him as scum.

    Hi Murska,

    I don't think it's weird at all.

Reading back I think you both interpreted what the other was wanting in opposite ways.

I had initially thought you responding to the question by saying you "just responded to what Pizza was asking" was a sufficient answer.

Going back, it looks like you were saying Pizza just asked the same thing Tommy did, which was more complex of a question than I originally remembered.

Role of the Day
Time Bandit

The Time Bandit may each night submit a list of who they would have roleblocked on previous nights as well as on the current night. The list can be amended each night. Once per game during day, the Time Bandit can choose to sacrifice themselves by posting a public announcement in the thread. This will cause the Time Bandit to die and will cause all the roleblocks on their most recently submitted list to take place retroactively as if they'd been actually performed on the nights in question, causing any deaths and/or actions to be affected accordingly.
