I knew for my first pick, I would want someone to slot into my “best overall” category, as I think there are very few players that are incredible as both villagers AND wolves. Luckily, one of my top 5 picks fell to me here.
This player is someone that transcends the game no matter what alignment they roll, and, just as importantly, they do it across all game mediums. I want someone anchoring my team that can lead me to victory in a turbo, a normal game, or a mash. This means someone that has good reads and can project villageryness as a villager, and can fool the villagers as wolves. That’s not it, though. They need to have a good knowledge of mechanical information. They need to have a good grasp of strategy. They need to be enjoyable as well- I don’t want my anchor to be anyone that someone else would dread playing with.
The player I am about to pick has all of these attributes, and more. They are one of the players that would draw in signups for a game, and one of the players that drastically affects the game results depending on what they rand. They are already among the elite on MU (or anywhere), and as a bonus point they are humble and actively trying to improve on each game.
As an extra bonus point, they are one of the nicest people I know
Let’s take a break and actually look at a recent POG game that finished: Harry Potter Mash
This player list was one of the best I had ever seen, with incredibly good players like Apoc, Bopolis, Montecore, and Panther playing (sound familiar?). Yet my pick was ALSO playing, and was the clear MVP of this game. This is not concrete evidence to how elite my pick is, as anyone can have a lucky game. This is just to show that he can easily hang with the big boys and is in that upper echelon of players that can make an impact no matter WHAT the game is. (Even more impressive is that many of the POG regulars did not even know who this was, and my pick had to work off of skill alone and not much meta)
As I alluded to before, this player has dominated in turbos, small games, and mashes- and most of these on MU, although I have the utmost confidence in my player being able to replicate their game on other sites like he did on POG.
A few highlights will follow.
The mafia championship, including the final game in which he dominated against elite players while randing what is supposedly his weaker alignment. He ended up winning that game. He also played exceedingly well in his qualifying match (as evidenced by his uncontroversial appearance in the final).
2) Sports Mash, in which he subbed in and made an immediate positive impact on his team- again randing what is considered to be his “weaker” alignment.
3) Hedgehog Mafia, where he drew wolf KP in a game with (again) Bopolis, Apoc, and other legends
4) Harry Potter Mash, where he AGAIN dominated and drew wolf KP in a game with WW legends
5) Creatures Mash, where he LED one of the most dominant wolfteams that has ever been assembled on MU
AND MUCH MORE (including a ton of turbos that I can’t be arsed to dig through and find)
I would dare ANYONE to try and find a game this player is in that they did not make a significant and objectively positive impact on their team.
This is the player that I want for my first pick.
My pick is:
im a duk3amaniac
friendship ended with amrock
[player who drafts me] is my new best friend
Was wondering why the thread wasn't full of the usual hyping of people. Draft threads are usually great because everyone gushes about everyone else and props them up. Felt kind of weird to just be a serious + no commentary thread.
Turns out all that was (I assume) happening on discord lol
there's some on discord, but i don't know the full extent, the spec chat isn't super active and the other is private lol
Come wayward souls,
Who wander through the darkness,
There is a light for the lost and the meek.

This infraction is worth 3 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
All the best,
Emperor Uriel Septim VII
All I can say at this point is that Panther, Monte, Bop, Apoc, and Empoof have been parts of some of my favorite times playing werewolf (as well as my most frustrated times when we are on opposite teams!). Yeah, they are good at solving games and fooling people, but more importantly they have always increased the amount of entertainment I've gotten out of the game and are main reasons I keep coming back after breaks.
It doesnt matter were doing it anyways, the Duk3fans deserve to hear Sunbae's qualifications.

Hello there! SilverKeith here, captain of the Bread Buyers, here to reveal my first pick.
My writings capabilities are pretty poor so I’m going to keep it simple. Just my 2 cents on why do I think that the player is worth picking.
And in this case of this player, the only thing I’ll say is that this player existence, or more precisely, the point I met this player, singlehandedly is a before and after in my mafia career. And this isn't a joke or a meme, you won't find any of that in any of my writeups.
I won’t talk about any of this player achievements cuz you have them fresh in your memories, since I’m sure most of you who are reading this, helped this man to received these awards, either by voting him, or by getting dunked by his awesomeness.
You know who he is.
You know what, $#@! y’all, I was going to keep it short but I think there’s time for me to sit down and take my time to share a personal life story.
Mafia Championship, Season 3.
SilverKeith had his first game on the big bois league. Was selected among a humble but cool spanish speaking community, to play in a foreign land, with unknown dangers that awaited for him.
But SilverKeith wasn’t afraid. He was dunking players on his community on a regular basis, he was kind of a big thing there, he took some english classes. How hard could a game of mafia be? We were the biggest baddest bread buyers in the whole spanish mafiaverse, so who could’ve stopped THEBOI, young promise of a whole continent?
And then S3G7 started.
Turns out, SilverKeith was a $#@!ing dumbass. He got eaten alive and kid wasn’t into vore. The game wasn't anything like he had imagined. He went from playing soccer with their friends in the park to playing the world cup. And the Maradona who was playing in his game was none other than Newcomb.
There were other good players, for sure, but the first one who I encountered that decided to interact with me was Newcomb. And when I meant interact I mean read into my whole life and soul as a player. If he had his glasses on I’m sure he could’ve straight up read my PM.
His read on me made me realize things about my play I wasn’t even aware of myself and I’m being 100% real here. I never knew I was a fencesitter, I was a hedger, I was playing devil’s advocate, I was lazy, a follower instead of a leader, and overall, a bad player, until I received that read from him. And for all of those things, he thus decided I had to be scum.
Yes, he was wrong, but to this very day I’m sure that, he was wrong on purpose. By missreading me while I was being lazy with my play, something awakened within me. Something that told me that If such a player had a wrong read onto me, I was a burden to my team, a failure as a townie, and a piece of $#@!. I had been killed by his read, and by his read onto me, I was reborn as a new mafia player.
My only game with Newcomb ends there. Newcomb couldn’t won that game, cuz aside from a couple of decent players, most of town was too heavy for him to carry. But his influence on me wasn’t lost.
Next year I was back and ready to buy bread. S4 saw the birth of a new SK, one that could actually have a positive impact to his team. I made it out of my qualifiers and got into wildcards. But that isn’t the important part, but the fact that after I won my F3 in my qualifiers, with a wall that had my soul written into it as a hammer, Newcomb commented on it and said "Finely-crafted last post, Keith". And once more, his influence on me wasn’t lost. I went once again for my attempt to reach glory, and was closer than ever, by reaching the finals in S5.
I don’t care if Newcomb isn’t the best player in the world but to me he is the most important one, and picking him anything but first would just be lying to myself.
It is said that just by seeing Newcomb play you’ll become a better player as the years go by, and is also seen as a sign of good luck in many religions. It is said that by wolfing alongside him, you’ll live a nice a prosperous life, and you’ll have a positive winrate as wolf in the future. And it is said that by hydraing with him, you’ll automatically win champs the next time you take part in it.
For starters, there’s me as an example, but we already talked about that. There’s another player who made it to qualifiers in S3, wildcards in S4, and finals in S5. That’s Boquise for ya, and you know what Boq and I have in common?
That’s right, we both met Newcomb in S3G7
Newcomb was also sent to the wildcard game in S3 by the Jury. Y’know who else was in the Jury?
That’s right, every mafia championship finalist ever.
And now that we are onto that game, just a reminder that S3WC is considered by a lot of people to be one of the highest quality games in all of champs, and Newcomb ADVANCED FROM THERE when he was among a absolutely elite playerlist.
There’s arguably only one higher quality game in all of champs, many ppl might say that’s Lissa’s Funhouse from this S5. But, do you know in which game Lissa was in?
That’s right, S3WC, same game as Newcomb. And that’s not all, do y’all not remember who was the flavour writer for Lissa’s Funhouse?
That’s right, GH, the man who, alongside Newcomb, made an hydra so powerful that won best hydra of the year and it wasn’t even close.
But here’s a not so well known FACT: That Hydra wasn’t GH + Newcomb playing, it was just Newcomb using all of his power.
For the purpose of this write up, GH let me use a screenshot from a private conversation with the man himself that proves my point, discretion is advised, potential trigger warning.
Fact: Every game that Newcomb has lost in his live was just a plot to deceive us. If he were to simply win every game then he would be banned in MU.
You can’t name a game where Newcomb has lost because of Newcomb. Even when he loses, the man manages to do it gracefully.
Fact: Everything that has had a close encounter of the Newcomb kind, has had a positive impact in their life.
Already mentioned me and Boquise, but GH recently hydraed with him and not too long after he stepped down from moderation, which is probably one of the best decisions of his life.
DLP is still active despite being a site with the name "Dark Lord Potter". That’s all thanks to Newcomb 100%.
Every player who was in S3G7 is doing better than we were doing back then, this is proven by the fact that we can talk about S3G7 without crying for more than 10 minutes.
Fact: Newcomb saw in S3G7 that the overall power level of players was extremely low, so he took a part in moderation to supervise that none of the Legendary Mafia Players such as himself would use his mafia powers disturbe the balance in the mafiaverse.
That’s right, he took one for the team and is now a purple who oversees our mundane mafia lives. Who are the other Legendary Mafia Players you might ask? Just every other player who I’ll draft, basically.
Also, you know that player who was banned that you really liked? Newcomb argued against his ban. You know that one you hated and thought it was doing harm to the community? That’s right, Newcomb pressed the "permaban" button.

I almost didn't click on Silver's second spoiler. If you are like me, do so - that's a fantastic writeup
Somewhere in the Australian Outback
2019-01-28 1200 UTC
The soft hum of fluorescent lights is the only audible sound within the secured bunker - unless you count the incessant footfalls of the thin youth pacing back and forth, occasionally stopping to ponder before resuming his unending trek.
On one side of him, a nondescript table, empty save for a plain black laptop. On the other, an enormous dry-erase board, covering the room floor-to-ceiling in mathematical equations too complex for the average mind to come anywhere in the ballpark of fathoming.
The man stops to refer to the laptop, then turns around and considers the equations for a moment. Picking up a red marker, he begins to write something, then stops and quickly erases it, sighing with frustration. Wiping sweat from his brow, he turns back to the laptop, muttering to himself.
"Surely there must be some way to..."
He trails off, his gaze suddenly a million miles away.
"...that's it. That's it!"
Suddenly the man is a whirlwind of activity, writing almost too quickly for the untrained eye to track. Entire sections of the mathematical monolith are erased and rewritten, the man's right hand a veritable factory for letters both western and Greek as the lump sum of mathematics in the room eclipses anything Newton ever thought possible.
With a flourish, the man finishes off the final sigma and caps the marker, his shirt drenched, his cheeks flushed, his glasses fogged, but his face satisfied. Taking a moment to survey his handywork, he allows himself a brief bit of satisfaction before wiping off his face and turning back to the laptop.
"Hey guys," he mutters as he begins to type. "I've finally figured out the most optimal way to use our vigi-"
Out of nowhere, an arm clad in black thrusts itself over his mouth, a chloroform-soaked rag firmly pressed to his nose. With no choice but to breathe it in, the man lets out a final utterance before passing out.

Subject #001, code name SMARTBOMB, was chosen for his unique skillset; after all, anyone can submit a vig shot, but few will rewrite the entire course of mathematical history just to distract themselves from agonizing over the decision. Retrieval went smoothly, with subject being... more cooperative than initially anticipated. Early tests indicate that the subject's abilities have not been impacted negatively by the sudden change of environment; as a result, I recommend the subject be approved for field testing ASAP.
The project must not fail.

I enjoyed that writeup S.K
Amy and SilverKeith GOAT writeups!
Alright, I would make a writeup as to why @Panther is one of the best players but let's be honest you don't need it. He got voted Best Overall Player in the awards, he was instrumental in Frostpunk as a wolf in killing pretty much all the town power roles and making the game easy, he lived until endgame outing himself on purpose in The Simpsons Mash. As town he has a stunning control of making his voice heard and having severely above average reads, allowing him to solve games by himself. He got taken out early in both Anniversaries with reads by him that were astonishing and also, perfectly logical and well reasoned, and his charisma and reasoning is exceptional. As a wolf he has an amazing ability to outfox people with his words and generally he only gets caught for having a known meta and being too familiar with the rest of the people he plays with.
Now this would be where I had a pre-formed idea of what I was going to do with regards to this writeup, but I don't actually know what to say when laying it out, so uh. While we wait for EvanManManMan to make his first pick, I would like to present Panther's ISO of his second game ever, The LEGO Movie Mafia, the first large game hosted on MU, to let everyone see how the GOAT started.
Have fun spectators. I don't think I can beat these previous writeups but I hope this is a solid offering. I already have an idea of how my next few writeups are gonna go though.
For all the viewers at home, Smartbomb: How accurately would you call Amy's description of your origin story? Did you ever find out who kidnapped you? Did they replace you with an android as to not worry your family?
