The player list will be randomized.
Every night, starting Night 0, the Empath will be given a parity check on the two living
players closest to them on this list. The first and last spots on the list are considered adjacent.
If Stark was the Empath, he would be given a check on Thor and Hulk ("same" or "different").
If Hulk is lynched on Day 1, then on Night 1 Stark's check would be on Thor and Widow.
If Thor were to be killed on Night 1, then Stark would only have one living peek until Night 2.
I see two ways of running the setup.
The randomized list is secret, only I know what it is. This gives less ways to PoE wolves via mechanical info, and also provides more freedom for
Empath cover and wolf counter claims.
The randomized list is public. Your cover/peeks are chosen for you and always public. It might be easier for the wolves to find the Empath based on their own placements in the list, but it is probably also possible to reverse engineer the wolf Night Kills to find players who are more likely to be wolves based on this.
Leaving cover will be less necessary, since everyone knows your peeks.
Overall the game will be more mechanical.
I do think it might add an interesting dynamic, where each player is keenly interested in solving a specific two players so they can leave accurate cover.
I strongly prefer running the Standard version first because it's more in keeping with a Cop 13er. But I will run both next week if there is enough interest for that
- Because the PR always has 2 peeks and only 2 peeks, CCing them and leaving them alive is far more viable than in a Cop 13er.
- I have no idea if leaving Cover is optimal or what the best way to do it is
- It probably runs fine as either 13er or 14er? I can't decide.
