Season 6, Game 6: The Wonderful 101 [The Mafia Championship]

SEASON 6, GAME 6: THE WONDERFUL 101 (MAFIA CHAMPIONSHIP)

Welcome to Season 6 of the Mafia Championship!

An international forum-based tournament for Mafia players from 187 different communities

    Sponsored by Werewolf Online

Hosted By: Our automated @Mafia Host w/ @SmartBomb providing flavor
    Start Date: May 27, 2019
Start of Day/End of Day: 10 AM EDT/10 PM EDT (15.00/03.00 UK time)
    Phase Lengths: 36/12
Lynch Mechanics: Deadline Lynch (person with most votes is lynched at the end of the deadline). In case of a tie, one of the tied players will randomly be lynched. No lynch is a valid vote. Starting Day 2, Majority is enabled, meaning the players can end day early if someone attains a majority of the votes.
Night Chat In Thread: No, thread will be locked during Night Phases
Out of Thread Communication: Only the Mafia team may communicate with each other outside of the thread (24/7)
LYLO Rules: Votes are automatically locked in at LYLO. I.e. when the game reaches a point where one more mislynch leads to a loss, you cannot change your vote once you have cast it.
Minimum Posting Requirement: Minimum 10 posts per Game Day
Maximum Posts Allowed: 175 posts per player per Game Day (restriction is lifted 2 hours before EOD though, so if you've reached your max you can post again at that time).
    ROLES
    13x Town
    4x Mafia

Of the following 18 roles, 1 will randomly be discarded and the other 17 will be assigned at random to one player in the game without regard for the player's alignment. Each role is restricted to using its action only on the nights listed on the chart. The Mafia will be told which role is not present in the game.

Role Acts On These Nights Modifier
    Watcher n1 Only Macho
    Watcher n2 Only
Alignment Cop n2 Only 1x Ninja
Alignment Cop n3 Only 1x Ninja
    Vigilante n2 Only
    Vigilante n3 Only
    Doctor n1, n3
    Doctor n2, n4
    Tracker n1, n3 1x Strongman
    Tracker n2, n4 1x Strongman
    Jailkeeper n1, n3
    Jailkeeper n2, n4
    Roleblocker n1, n3
    Roleblocker n2, n4
    Role Cop n1, n2, n3 1x Strongman
    Jack of All Trades
    (Role Cop, Tracker, Roleblocker)
    n1, n2, n3
    Jack of All Trades
    (Doctor, Jailkeeper, Voyeur)
    n1, n2, n3
    Voyeur n1, n2, n3, n4 1x Strongman

Watcher: Learns who visited the target, but not what actions they did

Alignment Cop: Learns whether the target is town or mafia, but not their role

    Vigilante: Kills the target

Doctor: Protects the target from kills on that night only (cannot self-protect)

Tracker: Learns who the target visited, but not what actions they did

Roleblocker: Prevents the target from using their action on that night only

Jailkeeper: Performs both a Doctor and Roleblocker action on the target, both protecting and blocking them (cannot self-protect)

Role Cop: Learns the role of the target, but not whether they are town or mafia

Jack of All Trades: Can use one of their abilities per night without repeats

Voyeur: Learns what type of actions were performed on the target, but not who did them

Macho: The player cannot be protected from kills

Strongman: Kills performed with Strongman cannot be stopped in any way (serves no purpose if the player is town)

Ninja: Night actions performed on the night that Ninja is used are invisible to investigative roles (Trackers, Watchers, and Voyeurs)

    MECHANICS
    • Role reveals at death are alignment only. You will not learn a player's exact role when they die.
    • Usage of night actions is optional, but unused actions will be lost.
    • Mafia factional kills are optional. Mafia may submit a factional kill each night, but are not required to. However, starting night 5, the factional kill will be mandatory.
    • Mafia factional kills are assigned. They can be tracked, watched, or roleblocked.
    • Mafia share a factional Night Kill, which is a single standard shot for their faction.
    • Mafia members may perform the faction kill in addition to their regular action at the same time.

    FAQ
Please note that Mafia Host - the Modbot - will post a FAQ as well that might contain answers to some questions that aren't covered here.

Q: What changes to the setup have been made since the practice games?

A: The Roleblocker role has been split into two roles, creating 18 total. One role will randomly be excluded from the setup, and the Mafia will be told which one it is. Also, both Tracker roles have gained Strongman modifiers.

    Q: What does Cycle mean?

A: Cycle is Modbot terminology for the night(s) on which a role can act. This is an example of how some roles might appear in Role PMs and Role Cop investigations:

    Jack of All Trades (x1 Doctor, x1 Jailkeeper, x1 Voyeur) | Cycle 1, 2, 3
    Doctor | Cycle 2, 4
    Alignment Cop | x1 Ninja | Cycle 2
    Macho Watcher | Cycle 1

Q: What do the Voyeur results look like?

A: The Voyeur sees the type of action performed on the target, but not the exact action. Modbot groups the actions into four categories: Protection (Doctor), Manipulative (Roleblocker, Jailkeeper), Killing (Vigilante, Mafia Faction Kill), and Investigative (all others). The Voyeur does not see their own action in their results. This is a sample results PM: "theknightsofneeee had Manipulative, Investigative, Killing done to them."

Q: What is the order of operations? What happens if a roleblocker targets a roleblocker?

A: The automated post at the start of each game contains a FAQ (in a spoiler tag) which answers these questions and more. However, there is one important clarification: the order of operations lists Strongman Kills first because they are immune to blocks, and regular kills are listed ahead of investigative actions because investigative roles can witness killing actions, but this only means that the target is marked for death before other actions are processed. No deaths actually occur until after all actions have been processed. In other words, dying at night never stops a player's action from happening.

The other important pieces of information are that Roleblockers act before Jailkeepers and that those roles are capable of blocking another player who attempts to use the same action. For more detailed information, please consult the aforementioned FAQ.

Q: Can Mafia players target their teammates with night actions?

A: Yes. The Mafia's faction kill cannot be used on a member of their own team, but all other actions (including Vigilante kills) may be used on members of their own team.

Q: Can Doctors and Jailkeepers self-target in order to protect themselves?

    A: No.

    Q: Which roles can self-target?

    A: Only Watchers.

Q: Are the Strongman and Ninja actions limited only to the nights listed on the chart?

A: No. If a player is Mafia, they may use their Strongman or Ninja ability on any night.

Q: Can players be investigated while they are jailkept?

A: Yes. Jailkeep is a combination of roleblock and doctor, neither of which prevent investigations on the target.

    HELPFUL INFORMATION

The boxes below contain very helpful information. If you're a first-time player, we highly recommend that you read through it all.

    MAFIA GAME RULES
Rules may vary from community to community, so we highly advise you to carefully read these rules.

    • Only post/talk about the game in this thread. Don't PM other players, unless you are mafia and wish to talk with your teammates. Also, don't post anything about the game in other threads or on other forums.
    • Don't try to use the form of your role PM. So a screenshot of your role PM would be cheating.
    • You are not allowed to change your avatar, location or any other profile info during game in any way that could be construed as hinting at your role.
    • This is a game of lying. Players are expected to lie. No statement or promise a player makes within the game has any force outside the game. As an example, a bet offered in a game is not something you can collect if you win.
    • If we believe you to be bending the rules intentionally in a way that clearly goes against the spirit of the rules and the game, then that would also be grounds for modkill.
    • If you have any questions about rules, send a PM to your host. Avoid asking questions to the host in the thread. And definitely do not make a post in the game thread asking the host to sub out a player. If you feel that a player is not being active enough, PM Thingyman or Lissa about it (but we're always keeping an eye on this anyway, so don't worry).
    • Don't ever refer to private communications with the Game Host.
    • If you should ever require a replacement, PM both Thingyman and Lissa and stop posting in the thread.
    • No hydra'ing / multi-accounting is allowed. Do not share your account with anyone else.
    • You are not allowed to reference the post-game voting during the game. I.e. you cannot post "if you lynch me, you're not getting my vote after the game" or anything like that.
    • Treat your fellow players with respect. Hostility will not be tolerated.

Refer to this post for the complete, standard ruleset for mafia games.

I will repeat this particular rule once more in big letters to make sure you understand:

DO NOT EVER REFERENCE THIS GAME OUTSIDE OF THIS GAME THREAD. YOU SHOULD NOT BE TALKING ABOUT THIS GAME WHATSOEVER ON YOUR HOME SITE. IF PEOPLE ASK YOU QUESTIONS, TELL THEM YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT THE GAME AND LINK THEM TO THIS THREAD.
    MINIMUM ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
All players are required to make a minimum of 10 posts per game day.

The game hosts and tournament organizers reserve all rights to immediately sub out any player not meeting this requirement, regardless of whether or not the player has met the requirement on previous days. Similarly, if players are only meeting this requirement by spamming and/or posting in the last hour of the day, that and similar circumstances would also be cause for substitution.

If players aren't posting, the tournament organizers will always first try to prod the players in question.

    SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURE
If your representative needs to sub out during a QUALIFIER, your community's backup will take their place, assuming 1) you've elected one, 2) they've registered a user on Mafia Universe, and 3) that I'm able to get a hold of them within a reasonable amount of time (i.e. with enough time left in the current phase for the sub to work with).

If I can't get a hold of your backup, I will give the spot to a representative from a community that joined the series late - or failing that, a backup from one of the larger communities.

If your representative needs to sub out during a WILDCARD or FINALE, your community's backup will NOT take their place. Instead the next person who was in line to receive a wildcard or finale spot will take their place.
As was specified in the invitation, some of you will be picked by the jury to advance to one of this season's two wildcard games. In total, the jury selects 23 players that they feel are deserving of a second chance.

Below is a statement from the jury foreman.

Hello and good luck to all representatives!

We, the jury, would like to take this occasion to somewhat clarify our mission and criteria. We consist of finalists from Season 5 who have agreed to follow this year's qualifying games in order to select a number of players for the wildcard rounds who were not directly voted in but otherwise displayed skill - to give them a "second chance" of making the finals, in other words.

This past offseason, there was some momentum to make the jury's exact criteria for advancing select players more transparent, in order to give them an idea of things that we're looking for over the course of the games.

The problem with doing this, especially before the games start and we've really had a chance to talk to each other in detail, is that each individual juror has their own opinions of what constitutes a player worthy of advancement. Over the coming months, we'll certainly talk about it, argue about it, and come to a consensus - that's the entire point, after all - but singling out specific things we're looking for at this stage is unfortunately something we cannot do. Nor do we want to unduly influence games by having players play "unnaturally" simply because they know we're observing and judging them.

That said, we will be examining each player's output holistically. How accurate a player's reads are, how sound a player's logic and rationale is behind their reads, how well they know and use the game's mechanics, how well they work with others in order to accomplish their team's goals, and many more traits are all things we'll be taking into account. The only question is how heavily we weigh each trait in determining who to advance to the wildcard round, and that's going to take up a great amount of our time over the coming months.

tl;dr just play your game, try your best, good luck, and most importantly, have fun!

WHAT THE $#@! DOES "WTF" MEAN?

Are you not familiar with some of the terminology used by the other players? Maybe this will help you: TERMINOLOGY EXPLANATIONS.
    DISCLAIMER ALERT
The beauty of the Mafia Championship is that it brings communities closer together, and it provides an opportunity for players to learn new playstyles, metas and mechanics. And hopefully make new friends as well.

All that being said, the games can also very quickly become overwhelming and frustrating since you probably won't be able to play completely in the same way that you're used to. You don't necessarily need to adapt, but you will probably need to accept that some of the other players will have a different approach to the game than you.

We hope that you will embrace this as part of the experience. It's easy to grow frustrated with people when you don't know them (imagine how you would have felt playing with your friends on your home site if you didn't know any of them when you played your first game together), so a huge part of playing in the Championship is also getting to know the other players in some way.

Specifically, the seasons have taught us that you should be prepared for:
    • A very high level of activity. On average, there will be 600 posts per 24 hours during the early stages of the game. This is a melting pot of dedicated and enthusiastic players all gathered in one game.
    • You will likely face very different posting styles: Some will post walls of texts with many quotes, some will post a ton of one-liners, and some people will be very keen to interact in real-time in the thread (using the thread as a chat rather than a thread you pop into a few times a day).
    • A flurry of activity towards the end of the day. This means that if you check out 5 hours before the day ends, you should not be surprised to return the next day to see that the wagons were changed multiple times. If you want your vote to count, be careful to not agree to a game where you can never be around for EOD.
    • A few players in your game will probably have played with each other before. This has become impossible to prevent as increasingly many players have played on Mafia Universe.
    • We do not condone abusive remarks and we have banned several communities from participating based on this before, but each season features dozens of new communities, so there is always a slight risk that you might encounter abusive players. If you do, please report them and we'll take care of it.

    Some advice:
    • Get an avatar. This makes it easier for everyone to tell each other apart.
    • You can choose between different forum themes (i.e. make the forum look different) in the bottom left corner of the site. Some of them are better suited for mobile devices than others.
    • Look at your settings. You can customize profanity filter, you can choose to automatically receive email notifications of new replies to the game thread if you wish, and you can edit Posts per Page (many regular MU'ers have it set to 100 per page).
    • If at all possible, try to make a habit out of checking in as regularly as you can, especially during the very beginning of the game. Don't delay your first check-in - or you will face a swamp of posts and you will feel like you're constantly trying to catch up.

Most importantly, just do your best and have fun. The experience is mostly what you make it. There will be tryhards, there will be noobs, there will be meme posters, and there will be people just here to make friends. All are accepted, all are welcome.

All that being said, past seasons have shown that players get more enjoyment out of the games when they make connections with the other players, so we highly encourage you to join our Discord server either before or after the game.

    FINAL NOTES

This is already covered in "Using our software" above, but since this is a role-heavy automated game with a lot of new players to the site, we want to make extra sure that people are submitting night actions correctly.

All roles have actions to use, and these actions can only be used on certain nights. The Cycle modifier part of your role will make it clear which nights you can use your action on. For example, if your role ends with "Cycle 2, 4", you can use your night action on nights 2 and 4.

One more thing that's important to understand is that you can pre-submit your actions for any given night on the day phase leading up to that night. So if you know that you'll be away during the night phase, or even if you're afraid that you might just forget, you can just submit it in advance. I.e. if your role has a Cycle 1 modifier, you can submit your action at any point on Day 1 - you don't need to wait until Night 1 begins.

If you choose to not use your action on a night that you are able to use it on, you will lose it and will not be able to "save" it for later.

How do I submit my Night Action?

In automated games, you may submit your actions by scrolling to the bottom of the thread and selecting your target(s) from a dropdown list using the Night Action Form for the each action. When you have selected a target, press Submit, and your current target will be changed to the player you selected.

    Big Image: http://i.imgur.com/fusXh6j.gif

You can change your action as many times as you'd like. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sending your action via PM to the host does NOT work! You need to use the form!

The Mafia Championship is, first and foremost, about building bonds between communities and creating new friendships.

You are all here to compete, but you are also here to represent your home community. Amongst the 187 communities that are participating this year, we have many different community types, nationalities, playstyles and experience levels represented. The Mafia Championship is all about celebrating these differences and opening up an opportunity for us all to learn from each other.

As long as you are playing to win, there is no wrong way to play this game. Some people enjoy roleplaying, some enjoy "$#@!posting", some enjoy solving the logic puzzle, and some enjoy an aggressive approach to discerning others' alignments. They are all valid playstyles.

So we ask that, in the true spirit of the Mafia Championship, that you, as players, do your best to enjoy the experience for what it is: A melting pot of unique and wildly varying playstyles and personalities. You may grow frustrated at times. In fact, it is easy to grow frustrated when you're playing with people that you don't know, which is why we also hope that - besides following our Code of Conduct - you'll make an effort to get to know your fellow players at least a little bit. As the five previous seasons have shown, a majority of you will make several friends from this game.

    Good luck and have fun!

    /Thingyman

If she was the president for the day she would make sure everyone said only nice things to each other.

The person she most respects in the world is Meghan Markel because not only is she a real life princess but she was also a star on the hit show “Suits”.

Her favourite food is ice cubes and a wheatgrass colonics.

Her favourite song is “Friday” by Rebecca Black since it resonates with the important issues facing this generation like should I sit in the back seat or kick it in the front seat.

Her favourite book is “See spot run” because it has such a happy ending.

When asked, ‘what is the most important thing about The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to you, personally?’, this was her response:

”I personally believe that, as Canadians, it is important to have rights and freedoms. Also to be able to reserve it for any time we need it or even for future generations is good for us. For me, personally, knowing that these rights and freedoms will be waiting for me whenever I should need them is so important. One time I was on a photo shoot for ‘Ass n’ Syrup’ magazine and they chartered a bus for all of us girls that had air conditioning, and the really hot days we had freedom to get out of the heat so the Canadian one is like that for me. Thank you, namaste.”

My community leader says I’m good at understanding the mechanics of games as well as discerning hard-to-decipher information because of said mechanics understanding. I’ve never really branched out from the group I attend except to Town of Salem due to my comfort with the people who I stay around.

My fellow mafia friends call me scum slayer. It started out as a joke cuz I was so certain that a player in the game was scum but no one listened to me. And in the end, I was right. And so I made it like an inside joke. But the more we played, the more we see that I'm quite good at finding scums.

My fav anecdote is that one time I voted all the scums and got all of 3 them lynched 3 days a row. It was a perfect lynch!

I'm Prince Marth of Altea, the Hero King and the descendant of Anri! Or...am I actually Lucina?????? I'm strong enough to kill dragons like Medeus and Grima with my legendary sword, The Falchion, but I'm not strong enough to take on multiple enemies at a time. And I get OHKO'd very easily! Not really good at fencing, you know? My fashion sense includes wearing a shirt and a scarf but being pantless. I don't wear shorts either. Also I think tiaras are pretty and love wearing them!

So I'm into mafia just for kicks. I mean, who even tries playing it competitively? All you'll get yourself into if you're all about being the best, is a cycle of depression! You must be a masochist to take it seriously! If you ask me, the human race must always strive for goodness and love and escape the dark future laid before us!

I used to be THE TOWN MISLYNCH but I never really figured out why. I was regularly mislynched for my first two years of playing mafia...or maybe the first year. It feels like I was mislynched way too often though, particularly by D2. At one point I even thought that I was destined to be a townie who would forever be lynched in the first two cycles, never making it to MYLO. And I almost always rolled town, too! Would I have had any hope?????

I really love 'Make it or break it' phases as either alignment. I love playing during MYLO, especially. The game just feels more thrilling at that point.

But then one day I subbed into a game as town and won at MYLO! Ever since, my fortunes changed, and I became a believer in reshaping one's destiny! I have only been mislynched twice, ever since!

My play style is generally to make posts about 2-3 paragraphs long. If I have to cover reads on more players then I split it into multiple posts because I care to make my thoughts clear to the other players in the game. I hate wall posts. I hate spam posts too.

    One of my mafia dreams is to roll town and then get myself modkilled out of no where. Especially if this was at MYLO. Oh, and another dream is to roll Town Dayvig and randomly vig a player during the Random Voting Stage, only for that player to flip mafia. Unfortunately I haven't developed the courage to do this, otherwise I'd be kicked out of the community. ;-;

Speaking of dayvigging, this is my track record- I've misfired every time I've rolled it, and I've flaked for almost the entire game. Then I'd come back at MYLO and everyone would think that I was obviously town!

    Other achievements include:

    1. Being the sole survivor of my first town game. The third party arsonist killed everyone else and got lynched. This happened in a 17p game, with 5 players dying in the last phase.
    2. Being counterclaimed as town by another townie for no reason and getting him lynched at MYLO.
    3. Naming the entire scumteam as town in my first post into the game and then losing it.
    4. Subbing in as town into a game where the town let an SK who fakeclaimed 'Weak Watcher Survivor' live and winning it for the town at MYLO.
    5. Orchestrating a lynch on myself and my buddy(both of us were fools) on days 1 and 2. That win was one of the best ones I've ever had.
    6. Being mislynched after a lyncher randomly claimed a cop guilty on me when I was not their target.
    7. Winning a scum sweep in a mafia game where I was pushing for the lynch of my two buddies who were lovers. I even escaped a lynch myself by claiming hider!
    8. This is one of my dayvig stories. So I mivigged D1 and became so depressed about it that I flaked from the game. Then at MYLO, one of the dead townies told me that I had to vote to end the game. So I just listened to her and the town 'won' the game...but the host was so mad, that he ended the game in Universal Loss.

    9. I'm also the player on SF who has played as part of a hydra the most number of times, that's 5!

That's it, I guess. I suppose all that's left is for us to clash swords in a game of mafia, now!

How do I play mafia: I would weigh my town hunting abilities to scum hunting abilities 70/30. Finding town is more important then finding scum but you still must scumhunt.
Most memorable moments: Game of daily mafia got to a final 3 as town (no role flips in game) convinced both the town and the scum that I was hammering. Let both say their peace and then began to laugh and said sorry for trolling I’m actually the cop and have a green on rein so I know your mafia geript. Got him to concede and when the mod did the games role reveal and said I was VT everyone face dropped.
A game on teamliquid I fake claimed vigi in an semiopen setup as VT. For whatever reason I’m really good at figuring out who’s the vigilante (if there is one in game) read successfully that there wasn’t one and got roleblocked twice and then on the night I died I got roleblocked too. When I flipped VT the town was freaking out and when I read the mafia chat they were going absolutely bonkers. I was nominated for craziest play of the year for it.
If you want me to town read you, make your posts at least 2 large paragraphs long because I won’t read anything larger than that and just assume scum wouldn’t do long posts.

So, it has finally come to this. After all these years, you have finally found yourself on my doorstep. I've heard the legends, although my father didn't believe in them anymore. He has left this house, decided to move on from our past, from our legacy, for a future he could determine.
It wasn't supposed to be me, you see. My older brother was the perfect Heir in every way. He mastered the arts of deception, could look at someone and see immediately what type of person they are. Absolute accuracy. We still had hope back then.
Sadly, when the storms came, my Father was still out to herd the sheep. My brother ran out to make sure my Father was safe. My Father returned. My brother did not. He still blames himself for it all.
So, that leaves us at me. I only know what I have learned in the shadow of masters, but I assure you that I will avenge my brother, and I will make my father proud. If I can fulfill our destiny here today, then perhaps my family can finally be at peace.
But where are my manners, do come in. I have goods to sell, and stories to tell. Are you interested in buying a Ceiling Mattress?

    FAQ

Are you unsure about how actions are processed or how roles interact with each other? Then read more here:

    ORDER OF OPERATIONS

Night actions are processed in this order:

    Strongman kills
    Roleblocks
    Jails
    Doctors
    Bodyguards
    Kills
    Investigations
    Backups

When an action was submitted during the night will never matter when the actions are processed.

    ACTION FEEDBACK

These are the results you will get when you submit certain actions.

Non-investigative roles when they submit an action (they also receive this if they are roleblocked):

Your action on Player A was received.
Investigative actions return results even if the target dies on the same night.

Actions that count as visits are counted as visits even if the actor dies on the same night.

Investigative roles (Tracker, Cop, etc.) when roleblocked:

Your action on Player B did not return any results.
Trackers when tracking a person that didn't visit anyone (or if they targeted a Ninja):

Player C did not visit anyone.
Watchers when watching a person that wasn't visited by anyone (or only visited by a Ninja):

Player D was not visited by anyone.
Alignment Cop when investigating a town-aligned player (or a Godfather):

    Player E is Town
Watcher when watching a person that was visited by multiple people:

Player F was visited by Player G, Player H, Player I
    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I submit my action?
Use the form below the game thread. If your role has a night action, the form will only be visible during night phases. It's not possible to submit actions in advance of the night phase.

What does it mean if the Mafia Host says that night kills are assigned?
In games with this setting turned on, the member of the mafia team that made the most recent night kill submission will be the one assigned to the kill, which means that the kill can be blocked if a Town Roleblocker or Town Jailkeeper target the mafia player in question. Similarly, the kill can be tracked and watched by Town Trackers and Town Watchers. If this setting isn't turned on, then it doesn't matter who the last person to submit the mafia kill is, as the kill is unblockable and untrackable in this case.

Where do I find example role PM's?
This thread contains example role PM's for all roles currently supported by the Modbot as well as information on the various modifiers. Here you will find the answers to a lot of questions not covered in this FAQ section.

    Which roles can self-target?
Only Watchers are able to use their ability on themselves at night. This means that Doctors or Jailkeepers aren't able to protect themselves, for example.

Which roles are not able to target the same players on consecutive nights?
Doctors, Jailkeepers, and Roleblockers are not allowed to target the same player twice in a row. Everyone else is, including Bodyguards. Note that this non-consecutive restriction still holds true even if one of these three roles were blocked the night before when targeting the person that they're attempting to target again.

What happens if Jailkeeper A and Jailkeeper B or Roleblocker A and Roleblocker B target each other (and are not targetted by other blockers)?
In the case of Jailkeepers, they will block and protect each other. In the case of Roleblockers, they also block each other. This means that the two players are trackable to each other that night by Trackers and Watchers. It also means that if one of them is mafia and happens to simultaneously be the one submitting the factional kill that night in a game with assigned kills, then this kill is blocked. This same principle applies to longer loops. I.e. in a A > B > C > D > A loop, everyone is blocked.

What happens if Jailkeeper A targets Roleblocker B who targets Jailkeeper A?
Jailkeeper A will be blocked in this scenario. Refer to the order of operations: Roleblocks process before jails.

What happens if Jailkeeper A targets Roleblocker B who targets Player C?
As stated above, roleblocks process before jails, so Roleblocker B will successfully block Player C. I.e. Jailkeeper A will fail to block Roleblocker B, but will still protect Roleblocker B.

What happens if Jailkeeper A targets Jailkeeper B and Jailkeeper B targets Jailkeeper C (who isn't targeting any of the former two)?
In this case, Jailkeeper A would prevent Jailkeeper B's block from occuring, meaning that Jailkeeper C's action is not blocked.

If an X-Shot role is blocked while using a shot, do they lose that shot forever?
Yes. A 1-shot Vigilante being blocked while attempting to kill someone will not have their shot refunded.

If someone with a Strongman modifier kills Player A who is protected by Bodyguard B, who dies?
Player A will die, and Bodyguard B will survive.

Can a mafia team choose not to kill anyone during a night?
The host can determine this using the Mafia Factional Kill setting. Kills can be mandatory, optional, or disabled altogether.

The default is No. The mafia factional kill is compulsory. This is done in order to avoid deadlocked games where the town keeps no lynching and the mafia refuses to submit a kill. If the game has assigned kills, it will be randomized which member of the team is carrying out the kill.

If there is only one mafia member left in a game without assigned kills, can the mafia factional kill then be blocked and/or tracked?
    No.

Can the mafia submit a kill for one of their own members?
    No.

If I kill someone, does their night action, if they have one, still succeed?
Yes, killing someone doesn't prevent them from performing their night action (unless they investigated someone, in which case they will not receive a report). Refer to the order of operations: All kills happen at the end of the night, and everyone pulls the trigger simultaneously.

Can individual night actions be proxied on mafia teams?
No. If the mafia team has a Mafia Roleblocker, for example, and they want to use this role's action, then the player occupying that slot must submit the action themselves.

If a Lover is shot during the night, while the other Lover is protected that night, does the other Lover still die?
Yes. It's not possible to prevent a Lover from dying of love sickness.

If a Bodyguard protects Lover A, while Lover B is shot during that same night, what happens?
A dies of love sickness and Bodyguard lives.

If there are any Innocent Childs in the game, are these confirmed in the thread right when the game begins?
No. Innocent Childs are able to decide themselves when or if they wish to have the Modbot confirm their role and alignment in the thread. Note that this is exclusively a day action and that it can take up to one minute for the Modbot to process the action.

What results are Alignment Cops, Full Cops and Role Cops given if they investigate a Godfather or a Miller?
Alignment Cops are told "Town" for Godfathers and "Mafia" for Millers. Full Cops are told "Vanilla Town" for Godfathers and "Mafia Goon" for Millers. Role Cops are told "Godfather" for Godfathers and "Miller" for Millers.

Can Role Cops tell the difference between a Vanilla Town and Mafia Goon?
No. They are told "Vanilla" when investigating either of these two roles.

If I roleblock someone with a Bulletproof Vest, will that nullify the effect of the vest?
No. Bulletproof Vests are passive modifiers that cannot be blocked from working.

If I roleblock Masons, Neighbors or Lovers with out of thread communication privileges, can I prevent them from talking at night?
    No.

If I roleblock a Godfather, will they still be revealed as being town-aligned to Alignment Cops and Full Cops that night?
    Yes.

    USING THE SOFTWARE

Are you wondering about how to vote, submit night actions or multi-isolate players? Read about this and more here:

    VOTING BBCODES

Our forum votes for someone by using the vote tags: [V]Thingyman[/V]. Preview:

    ##Vote Thingyman

Make sure that you spell out the full, correct name. Abbreviations or misspelled names will not be registered by the Modbot.

To unvote, use the tags: [UNV][/UNV] . When unvoting you do not need to enter the name of the person that you are unvoting. Preview:

    ##Unvote

    VOTING BUTTONS

You can also quickly vote for someone by clicking on the box with a checkmark icon, which will bring up an alphabetized dropdown containing the names of living players:

This will insert [V][/V] tags with the name of the player you selected in the dropdown, perfect every time.

Click the empty checkbox button to insert [UNV][/UNV].

    SUBMITTING NIGHT ACTIONS

If you have a night action, simply submit this at night by scrolling to the bottom of the game thread. Here you will find a night action form like this:

Click the dropdown and select the player whom you wish to use your night action on. You can change it as many times as you wish before the deadline expires.

    CALLING UP A VOTECOUNT

Votecounts will appear automatically at various intervals, but you can also call up votecounts yourself by following these steps:

First, you need to apply to join "Mafia Game Hosts" under Permission Groups.

Second, once your request has been approved, you will be able to call up votecounts by simply pushing the "Post Votecount" button in the top right corner of any game thread that you'd like an updated votecount for.

    VIEWING VOTE HISTORY

There are three ways to access the vote history for any game.

    1. Click on the "Vote History" button in the top right corner of the game thread:

    2. Click on the "View Vote History" link, which accompanies all votecounts:

    3. Click on Modbot in the top forum menu. This will give you a list of ongoing and completed games:

Next, simply click on "Vote History" to view all votes for that game.

Following any of the above three steps will bring you to an overview like this one:

Click on a Voter's username to view all of the votes by their slot.

Click on a Target's username to view all of the votes for their slot.

    ISOLATING A PLAYER'S POSTS

If you wish to read a player's posts in isolation, simply click on "ISO" in the top right corner of one of that player's posts in the relevant thread as illustrated here:

Alternatively, you can access a player's posts in isolation by clicking on the number next to "Replies:" in the forum lobby.

Doing so will pull up a window listing the post counts for everyone who has posted in that thread. You access someone's posts in isolation by simply clicking on the number next to "Posts:" for that person.

The ISO view itself has Quote and Multi-Quote buttons inside it, which will make it very easy to quickly quote a lot of a player's posts for analysis or commentary:

    MULTI-ISOLATING

If you wish to read not just one player's posts, but you want to ISO multiple players, then click the "Multi ISO" button to the left of "Game Tools" and select the players in question as shown here:

    MULTI-QUOTING WHILE THREAD IS LOCKED

Note that you can multi-quote posts from even locked game threads. This is useful for when you wish to reread the game and do work during night phases.

After quoting the relevant posts, you simply open a different, opened thread and press "Go Advanced". Then add the quotes to your post by clicking the prompt below the post area as shown here:

Now, of course you can't post your work in the game thread while the thread is locked, but you can copy paste and save your work to a local file or the cloud and have it ready to post the very next day phase (if you're still alive, that is).

Whenever you open a game thread, you are able to bookmark posts. This is for many players an important tool for keeping track of and remembering vital pieces of information, reads, claims etc.

Also, note that these bookmarks are saved to your user account, meaning that it eliminates the trouble associated with keeping notes between different computers/devices.

If you want to bookmark a post, you simply scroll to the post that you want to bookmark and press "Set Bookmark" as shown here:

This will call up 5 different colored icons (Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, and Black) on the right side of the post in question. You can click any of these icons, which will then prompt you to include a note for the post.

If you don't want to include a note, you don't have to - just leave it blank. The color coding in itself can be a valuable tool. Maybe you want to use Red bookmarks for posts that you find suspicious, Green bookmarks for posts that you find townie, Black bookmarks for posts containing claims, or whatever system you can think of that will be helpful to you.

Once this is done, you have now successfully bookmarked a post with a certain color and maybe even a note. If you wish to remove the bookmark again, click on "Unset Bookmark".

    How do I access bookmarks?

There are two ways to access your bookmarks.
    1. Inside a game thread, you can access the bookmarks for that specific game by simply right clicking on the "Bookmark" button and opening the link.

This will bring you to a separate page that is automatically filtered to only show bookmarks from the game thread that you accessed the page from.
    2. You can also access your bookmarks by going to Features in the site's top menu:

This will bring you to a page where no bookmarks are shown by default. However, you have several filtering options.

You can filter by Game, by Player and by Color - and all of them at once if you so wish.

Here's an example of filtering by only red bookmarks in one specific game:

If you want to be taken directly to one of your bookmarked posts, you just click the post number.

    How do I quote bookmarks?

You can also multi-quote bookmarked posts by clicking the little "+" button seen above on the far right side of each bookmark.

Once you have multi-quoted all the bookmarked posts that you want to quote, you will then have to go to the game thread in which you wish to quote the bookmarked posts.

Here you have two ways of quoting the posts.

    1. Click on "Reply With Quote" on another post as shown here:

You will then probably want to delete the last post quoted in the reply box, but otherwise you should be good to go.
    2. Or you can do the more smooth option and click the "Reply To Thread" button at the top and bottom of the game thread - as shown here:

By doing this you will open up a reply box containing only your multi-quoted bookmarked posts.

The suave man approached the bridge, his face grim. To be honest, his face was always grim. This time it was even more grim though. Yes. Very much so. You can tell by the fact that he was wearing two popped collars. This time you could actually believe that someone messed up his tea.

    Wait. Where was his tea?

    Oh, this is serious.

“Team. After two years of silence, GEATHJERK is back. After their calamitous defeat during Earth Defence War III, GEATHJERK has decided to invade once more. This time, they have decided for a more covert approach. This will not stand. Now that we know why the GEATHJERK have invaded we cannot let this unjustified, unethical invasion take place in our own home.”

    “Oui, oui. Excuse me…”

Wonder-Green scratched his head in embarrassment. The snack of choice this time was a very small desert crepe, held in his right hand.

“If you do not mind, it has been a very long time since the last, shall we say, earth-threatening calamity? Why did the GEATHJERK invade?”

    “Who cares?!”

Wonder-Blue swung his sword around in that same arrogant way, not having a single care in the world.

“GEATHJERK show up, we beat them to next century. That’s how it goes. Show’s over. Where are the dreaded JERKS? I think they have a date with my VALIANTIUM BLADE!
Did I tell you my VALIANTIUM BLADE is made of real VALIANTIUM STEEL? It can cut through anything!”

    Wonder-Green just rolled his eyes.

“This is why I have gathered you, and only you today. The sixteen of you out of the Wonderful 101 and special guests have been called here for a very particular reason.

It seems that the GEATHJERK have operated for a guerrilla invasion. To put it in words that even Blue can understand, we have received reports that the GEATHJERK have infiltrated our own ranks. We have reason to believe that four of them have infiltrated our uppermost echelon.”

“I see the situation has been understood. However, I am not in a position to carry out orders.”

“Correct. Commander Nelson could also be one of the four members of the Greater Galactic Coalition that has been replaced.”

    “I’m sorry, the Great-galakic whatzit?”

“Never mind that, Blue! What are we supposed to do now? Our commander cannot tell us our great plan, the very future of Earth resides with us, and I have run out of doughnuts! Maman!”

“Easy peasy. I just kill everyone here. Except me of course. I’ll be the new mission leader of the Wonderful 101 and I’ll give the GEATHJERK what’s coming to them!”

“Blue, you could not cut your way out of a souffle. Do you not remember?”

    “Shut it, Rolly-Polly!”

    “十分に!”

A hush falls over the gathered. For five seconds. People give a sidelong glance to the man with two claws, then continue watching the two teammates.

    “Uh, did someone say something?”

“I do not know. I think it is White, non? But I cannot hear him for some reason. I see this as a win though, oui? We do not have to listen to his long speeches any more.”

“Listen to me, fellow Wonderful Ones and allies of the Wonderful Ones. It is very easy to lose one’s head in times of crisis. This is the Wonderful Saying 51. Remember it well. Also remember Wonderful Saying 54: A veteran of war must always bring cat pictures. We must band together and trust in ourselves, in true Japanese fashion! Only through the strength of one’s bonds can we succeed. Nothing is impossible! If we do this together, we can get through this with no casualties and quell the hanran! A rebellious samurai must heel to his shogun in the end. We are the shogun! Or perhaps it is more of a Warring States period. I must consider this. But no matter! We should not act as savages, but consider our options calmly. Perhaps we should continue as per normal, carrying out missions and one of us shall slip up eventually. Perhaps we can intercept communications between the GEATHJERK embedded in our team and the GEATHJERK outside. Perhaps we should do as follows, as set out in tradition. Now, this hasn't been finalized yet due to a number of factors, so a lot of what I'm saying is hearsay and guesswork and thus should not be taken as one hundred percent fact or utterly and completely accurate. Some of the factors in question that I referred to earlier are as follows: First, the exact composition of the players/invited sites taking part has not been fully determined. Thingy is saying something along the lines of 8 to 9 total games, meaning, assuming the 17 figure stays consistent, there will be 136 to 153 players. However, we know how much Thingy likes to upscale with these things, so I wouldn't entirely rule out a 10th qualifying game happening at some point down the line, bringing the total number of players up to 170, which would break the record of 165 set in last year's Championships. None of this factors in subs, of course, but it wouldn't matter anyway since they're not added, merely replacing into an already-present slot. Anyway. Once the final count is set (and potentially reset), the qualifying games will be played and they'll be off, just like in past years. Once the games are concluded, also just like in past years, there will be vote taken amongst the players of the individual game they will in, the criteria being "best overall player" or something similar based on these players' observations of the others' skill while present in said game. At this point it is uncertain of the exact ranked voting scale. Last year, for example, the players submitted a vote of their top 3, in which the ranked voting went 4-3-2, first place getting 4, second place getting 3, and so on. However, that was when there was 15 players to a game, so it might not translate over perfectly. I believe in Season 3 Thingy made the voting for a top 4 where the points distribution might have been 5-4-3-1 or 5-4-3-2, but I suppose it doesn't matter exactly, the most important thing here is that there's going to be a player vote. From here, there's a number of possibilities that I suspect could happen in terms of how the vote goes down. The first possibility is what happened two years ago, when the games were also all 17ers: the top two players would each receive an automatic berth to the finale game. This would fit nicely with the overall kind of "improvement on Matrix12/s3" throwback theme we have going on in general with this season's setup so far. However, I think the more likely scenario is that just the top-voted player receives the automatic berth to the finale, and that second place is automatically sent into the wild cards. If you need a refresher on what the wild card precisely means, don't worry, that's coming along later. The obvious issue with both of these, and something that may need to be addressed, is what happens if there's a tie - either a 2-way tie in my latter scenario or a 3-way tie for first in my former scenario. In both of these cases there are more players receiving a share of first place than there are automatic spots to the finale available, and there are a number of options in place that I can think of that would be able to cut through this Gordion Knot of trouble. The first is that the players could revote, either in the form of ranked voting or, more likely, just a one-name runoff. This is an ideal solution but it might take time to wrangle all of the players to re-vote again. Second, Thingy could just have the initial tiebreaker be which player got more first-place votes, or a higher proportion of showing up on the ballot, depending on his mood and whim. This would eliminate the logistical issues of a revote nicely, and also solves the issue of a multi-leveled tiebreaker because the second tiebreaker in this format could be highest share of second-place votes, and so on. A third potential tiebreaker possibility is that the jury could simply name a winner, as they're already closely following in the game and in "player evaluation mode", so to speak, if they're doing their jobs properly. Lots of possibilities here in any case, so we should be fairly well-covered in any happenstance. Anyway, this process will repeat itself through all eight or nine or ten or however many qualifying games there are until all are included, hopefully without too much burnout on everyone's part but who knows about that point. From there, whatever spots aren't filled in both the finale and the wildcard(s) need to be filled. This is where the jury steps in. The jury, if you're not aware, consists of the finalists from the immediately prior season of Champs who have accepted Thingy's invitation. So the big names you all know and love and remember from S5 like GeneralHankerchief, Paratroopa, Empoof, SilverKeith, DS, etc. all have the chance to be reading and following along, thus continuing the hallowed tradition of Champs and passing the torch from one season to the next. My guess is that there will be two wildcard games in total, consisting of the standard 17 players per game, meaning that there are 34 wildcard spots that need to be filled. Perhaps the jury will need to select all 34 spots. Perhaps one of my earlier scenarios regarding player advancement will be correct and that some of the wildcard spots will be automatically filled by the player vote, meaning the jury will only have to select something along the lines of 25 or so spots. My assumption is that their criteria to fill these 25 spots will be exactly what their criteria was in past seasons, as well as the criteria that Thingy directs all of the players partaking in the direct finale vote to follow: best all-around (or perhaps "overall" but the difference is essentially negligible) player, from what they've seen in Champs. It will be slightly harder to make this calculation in a season with semi-variable setups as opposed to last year when all games were unified mountainous, but I have faith in the jury to be able to complete this task. And then the usual will happen: They will provide the names, plus a reasonable amount of subs in the event that any of the top 25 or whatever the number is can't play, to Thingy, Thingy will announce as much, he will slow roll the wildcard reveal as usual, and the wildcard games will be set. The wildcard games will then play out as usual under the same conditions as all of the season's qualifiers, and once the dust is settled there will be further player votes. Now, the wildcard players will be sending a lot of their own to the finale, moreso than in past years (especially compared to s3, three years ago in 2016 when they only sent one person, Newcomb), so the player vote might have to be expanded. But numbers aside, the wildcard people *will* send people to the finale to make up the last spots. The final question stems from exact distribution of spots from the two wildcard games, whether it will be evenly distributed or based on weighed votes. It's something to consider and off the top of my head I don't remember how it was the case last year, but in any case it's not exactly a high priority since invites haven't even gone out yet and we're now talking about one of the final stages of Champs, which is months away. So it's a problem (if there even is one) for another day. The finale is now set. There is still one game left to play. So Thingy will set the schedule, everyone will confirm, and they will play it, again under the same conditions as they did the wildcards and qualifiers (though phase timing etc throughout the games will vary based on collective player preference, forgot to mention that earlier but it seemed worthy of noting in any case). Once the finale has been concluded, there will be one final player vote, under the same conditions as all the others but with one important exception: the first place player will be named 2019 Mafia Champion and get the gold trophy. I think that covers everything; obviously there's still some intricacies to be ironed out but this should be a satisfactory basic overview.”

“…I have no idea what he's saying. Green?”

    “zzzzz…”

“Whatever, let’s just beat each other up! Trial by combat is best! No false person can replicate any Wonderful One’s skill!”

“Well, I am sure. Your skill is very easy to replicate, Blue.”

    “Eat a sock, Porky!”

“No, wait! Stay your blade! Remember Wonderful Epithet 87! Hahaha, I am just a townie!”

“Your words won’t hide you from the truth of my VALIANTIUM BLADE, White! You won't be able to talk any more! Because you'll be dead. From the blade. It's very sharp. Did I mention it was made out of REAL VALIANTIUM STEEL?!

I don't really do it either, but I played with tambo last year, so I figure I may as well do it.

Hey everyone! Does anyone else just not understand what any of the flavor means at all?

Ooh, these bios are all really interesting. There's someone with a Mia profile picture, and a bio involving fire emblem, meaning we must become friends immediately.

To get some discussion going, can everyone tell me one difference this game setup/format has from the one you're used to, and how that will affect this game going forward? I'll start. Mafia seems to have a 24/7 chat, which I think will need to make us more wary of bussing and other things mafia can actually try to coordinate D1.

This is a different kind of setup. As the roles are completely random as to who they go to it makes for an interesting game. Usually there is a mass claim either day 3 or 4. Just from my experience.

Haha, I feel that. I come from a discord group too. I am currently unsure whether I should just sit here and press the refresh button over and over or do some other activity and check back every 3 minutes.

One difference I'm not used to is some roles have cycles to them. The OP even lists what the cycles are, so roleclaiming will be a bit of a weird situation for sure. I can definitely see the mass roleclaim that wayward pointed out.

Yes, I'm actually her... Let's call it her apprentice. She taught me most of what I know, but we don't exactly post the same.

Ah, it seems that my long journey will finally see some reckoning. Hail there, fellow strangers of fortune, and let me share my burdens with ye, so I may bring forth that what was desired by my father before my time, and by my late brother.

I stand here a weary individual, but resolute within my knowledge that we will yet see the dawning of the era we have been waiting for. Many a years have I spent with the scholars for this very moment, and many months have I spent reading the tomes that they have selected. I have seen the tales upon which this meeting was forewarned, and I have sent out my best friend to gather for me his most loyal men.

Sadly, I do not see my friend here today, and so I must therefore assume that he, like many others, has fallen in battle. I will remember you, Logen, I will remember you.

And so that leaves us to this moment. Burdened with grief, I must not repent. The sheep are restless, and my feet have yet to recover, so I shall move the herd forward while waiting here by the campfire. Normally my father would have done it in my stead, but sadly he wouldn't have it this way.

Perhaps one day he might forgive me. He might forgive himself.

Regardless, the wool on the sheep are only of the finest quality, and I have spent all winter preparing my goods. If there are any provisions I might procure for the fine gentlemen and ladies of this gathering, do not hesitate to ask me. I, however, ask you kindly to refrain from stealing. I am perhaps but one person, and if you would have your way you might take all my goods by force, but I assure you. Surely my goods are not priced as excessively that the shadow on your soul is worth it.

Regardless, may the goddess look over us.

I started to read through game 1 to get a feel for the setup while it was almost over and gave up partway through because it was so much to read all the way from the beginning. Anyone else look through those games?

Hey everyone! Does anyone else just not understand what any of the flavor means at all?

Ooh, these bios are all really interesting. There's someone with a Mia profile picture, and a bio involving fire emblem, meaning we must become friends immediately.

To get some discussion going, can everyone tell me one difference this game setup/format has from the one you're used to, and how that will affect this game going forward? I'll start. Mafia seems to have a 24/7 chat, which I think will need to make us more wary of bussing and other things mafia can actually try to coordinate D1.
I have the rapid-fire posting style because I'm from a non-forum environment, but it also means that I'll be devoting and spending more time going through and getting a feel for people. I'm not fully acclimated, but I'll try to suck it up for my community. -u-
Is that the site that Ara plays on?
Yes, I'm actually her... Let's call it her apprentice. She taught me most of what I know, but we don't exactly post the same.
I find her a very good player and one to be wary of.

Yeah, claiming becomes less helpful in lynching situations as everyone is a pr and NAI.

This is true, but the other main difference is that she has emotions behind her text at all. I tend to not reveal much of my feelings until I have a hold on where I think people stand, so -shrug-.

I was trying to keep up with the first 2, but as I was playing in multiple games at the time, I got lost as it was too much to keep up with. I did play in several of the practice games, but there were tweaks as we found out things that needed to be changed.

Role claiming seems useless as everyone has a role. But the information that you get from your role during cycles is the important part.

    Hey everyone,

First time I play on this website so forgive me if i make mistakes with all these command buttons or if i don’t understand some vocabulary.

Also, I noticed days will end at 4am Central European time, meaning I may not be always around at this time.

I am used to playing mafia on Dominating 12, which is originally a Risk playing website.
There, anyone can send private messages to everyone which changes a lot the dynamics of the game, allowing trust circles and manipulations. On the contrary we don’t post that much on the thread.
So don’t expect me to post too much. I like keeping it to the essentials.

When it comes to strategy, I have never played with anyone here so I will probably wait for solid facts to vote against someone.

Also, I have been thinking about mass role claims, but in such a set-up where any role can be mafia (if i understood correctly), it should only help mafia get to know how to proceed best.

    Good luck everyone!

This doesn’t seem relevant. These games weren’t created to be broken. Going to have to scumhunt and make towncircles to win this.

Ah, my apologies. In my attempt to rest my weary legs, I seem to have been content to just enjoy the campfire.

If I have any goods that might interest you, please do mention. I happen to have excellent woolen goods, woven together like faux-silk. I happen to specialize in Ceiling Mattresses, please do try them out once.

lol honestly i dont have a consistent enough of a "home format" to compare to here. ive played some hectic games but i suppose nothing this hectic, usually there's a pool of vanillas and less mess.

Also im from discord too but i'll have to try to make longer posts than this or i might hit that post limit

As the mercantile offer is whisked away by the silence of other conversations, the slightly gruffled individual leans back and reclines onto the soft woolen carpet he had laid down beside the campfire. He slowly reaches into his pocket and takes one of the sticks from the campfire, lighting a small, ornate pipe from the burning stick. With a few puffs, he seems to relax and a his features regain his smile.

"I hope nobody minds. I'm always a little nervous before a big sale. Still, carpets, mattresses, even woolen coats. I need to fund my travel back, after all this, so please do buy some. Or not, I wouldn't want to demand a purchase from those who are united by destiny. Regardless, where ever this leads, allow me to do this."

The man reaches into the other pocket, the burning stick now only slightly lit by ember. He takes out his hand, holding a soft, white and spongy cube. After placing it on the stick, he aims the white cube over the campfire, a slight whistle leaving his lips.
