OLYMPIC EVENT 4: MINORITY RULE
Each round you'll be presented with a List of Items. You must cast a vote for one of these Items via PM to me. You may change your vote at any time, given the round has not yet ended. I will ONLY accept answers via PM here on MU.
At the end of each round, the players who voted for the Item with the most number of votes are eliminated, and the next round begins.
The game will continue in this fashion until the player pool is reduced to 2 or fewer.
Whether your vote is honest or not doesn't matter. You should only ask yourself: "How do I get into the minority group and not the majority?".
With 2 or 1 player(s) left, the game will end and those left standing will be crowned victor(s).
Since exact rankings may have significant implications for the Olympic standings, it will work like this: If it is ever possible to decide ties/separate people in rankings going off of how they did in previous rounds compared to other players eliminated in the same round, I will do this. I.e. if in Round 8, Player A and Player B are eliminated with 6 players left, then they would ordinarily tie for 5th. But if in Round 7, Player A chose a less popular Item than Player B, then Player A gets 5th and Player B gets 6th.
You won't know in advance how many items there will be to choose between each round, except for this:
- When/if there are 5 players left, there will be 3 Items to choose from.
- When/if there are 4 players left, there will be 3 Items to choose from.
- When/if there are 3 players left, there will be 2 Items to choose from.
You are freely allowed to communicate with whomever you want, however you want. Whether in this thread or in private.
The EXACT start depends a bit on when the Mayor game (Event 1) finishes, but according to my calculations it should be wrapped up by July 4, so I'm going for a weekend start.
ANYONE reading this can sign up until Round 1 is over.
Each round lasts a minimum of 24 hours. Round 1 might be a bit longer.
