Paperblade you played an incredibly good game when you were active, incredibly formidable to even think about your slot like that. Logic did a pretty good job of unsuspiciously inheriting your slot, but I have to assume Mak helped there too to give credit. Your recovery from D1/2 was amazing Mak and your post to me was incredibly pure tonally
was a real pleasure to play with everyone after I subbed in though so I don't regret it at all. a big reason for me to sub in other than caring about serenes and a lot of the dead players was to get to play with some of the people itg. just sad I couldn't win with Psycho because I've, from watching prev games, had a feeling we're similar players who think similarly and to get there together would've been pretty great

not much to say that isn't already obvious. paperblade said something kind of spewy in an off-site game that duskfall had access to so that sub wasn't available, unfortunately
Feel like I could've done better in getting SF or SF-alternate subs and that's on me even ignoring the stated activity. Thanks so much to @jumpluff @Psycho666Soldier @Logic @orangeandblack5 for subbing in to a different community's game haha, as well as @BBM for subbing in even though he was busy at work for the day he subbed in. A few others from MU offered subs and I'm sorry for not accepting them, it was bad timing/responsiveness and yeah.
Lot of the town apathy I'm sure came from having all PRs outed/dead by N1, which I'm sure didn't help. I hope the game was some amount of enjoyable. :bow:

and smogmafia and serenesmafia are kinda like sister or cousin communities even tho i never played on serenes so i didn't rly consider it to be extra-community tbh
@supa2 I have the same philosophy as you of wanting to win as a team, of wanting to trust my towncore and being less interested in winning games where I would have had to solo hero it, but still beating myself up when I'm wrong and make mistakes
I literally bookmarked a post you made to me and ria about the first part
this was a rough game for town to have any cohesion but we still did well from the position we were in. there was no real towncore except you and amy in huge part due to the inactivity and NKs, but we were able to trust you when we subbed in and that was so crucial for catching up. with more time and slightly lower stakes maybe we get there
and I would play with you again

but the more people we killed out of the towncore (amy/supa/dunn) the more likely the pb slot would be sussed for “surviving too long”
the orange nk was done because of my tmi on that slot, making it another “sensible” nk

gg wolves. I was very sold on Makaze in that last phase, and I don't think anything was changing my mind on voting there first. But Logic would have been tough. I was starting to see where Chelsea could be town, and then I kept thinking about how Logic had all night to do something and openly was like, "Sorry, distracted with Pokemon," and I was playing with that world a bit. But I didn't feel good about it at all, and I'm not sure if I would have brought it up.
For real, though, good job, Makaze. For probably feeling a bit cornered, you played your $%#! off and kept selling the wolf agenda. Admittedly, your posts this phase made me second guess a bit. Would love to play again.
Big ups to @supa2 and @jumpluff for working with me and justifying my feeling to just towncore you two. jump in particular, I felt like we were working well together and were seeing a lot of the same things.
Sorry I was wrong on you, Chelsea. But, I guess not too sorry considering the events lol.
woopons, really sorry that went down the way it did. If my internet/MU wasn't being so weird for me that EOD, I might have swapped back to Chelsea(even if it didn't matter at that point). I felt you showed a surprising amount of WIM during that last phase.

If anyone should be Apologizing it should be me for not looking harder at other people (even if I did read Makaze/PB iso about 3 times) I can't tell if I had bias when reading their isos but I was just pretty fooled by Makaze. It seems we each had 1 wolf but couldn't find the other. Ah well!

Likewise. My case on you was based on real things. You wasted a lot of time and effort on wagonomics and then dropped it an cleared jump for bad reasons, even if you were right. But you were on to me so I had to adapt my strategy and I'm glad that it worked even if it didn't matter in the end.

That's karma and maybe indicative of what happened. It wasn't meant to be and I can't force a good outcome. The tl;dr was town became deflated over time and the game lost a necessary dynamic between players. We became too complicit and I somehow got thrust upon the role of towncore guy and it really pressured me to perform to the point where I was dm'ing smartbomb of my frustrations
Complicit not the right word I meant complacent. Scum didn't need to write any narratives we already did it for them. All they had to do was follow along until they won. Nobody was really fact checking which makes just agreeing with your townreads a dangerous game because if they're wrong then like
You're wrong with them too. Even worse if your townread is scum. That was another thing that went bad. Replacements really helped but yeah I still feel like it just happened too late to really turn the game around. I think the argumentative process is one of the healthiest things the game can have in moderation, like that's what makes D1 so telling in general. You don't just have one perspective you have many and then it becomes a game of figuring which ones will lead town to victory. The game became too set in it's ways and that D1 dynamic that made the game so exciting just became lost.
