Hello. Lets try a new social deduction game.
In this game all players, except 1, will get a location (the same location,) and the 1 will be a spy.
The point if the game is for the non spies to figure out who the spy is, by asking questions.
The person who's turn it is can ask anyone a question (except for the person who just asked them a question - no omgusing)
The person who was asked the question asks the next question, etc etc.
For the first run of this game im not going to do a time limit since its a real time game converted to a forum game. I will make tweaks as needed to balance the game in future runs.
Game Ending Conditions
The game ends when
A. The spy outs themselves and guesses the location.
B. A player puts the person they think the spy is up for vote and everyone except the person being voted unanimously agrees to indict the person (each player can only do this once per round so choose wisely)
C. Every player has put someone up for vote. (Or each player except the spy)
In situation A, the spy wins if they guess correctly. The "village" wins if the spy guesses incorrectly.
In situation B, if the Spy is unanimously voted, the spy loses. If a not-spy is unanimously voted, the spy wins.
In situation C, the spy wins if the village runs out of players who haven't initiated a vote.
Here's the game rules that aren't written by me for reference.
We won't do a running point total. Each round is isolated for the time being. As a fresh game.
I will take any amount of players greater than 4. I will pick a start date when 4 have signed up and anyone who wants in after that is allowed to join.
I will give also post a list of possible locations, so the spy is not at a disadvantage of the location being literally anywhere.
The point is to ask questions that are vague and don't give away the location, but also specfic enough to weed out the spy.
Answers can also be as vague as specific as desired for the same reason
For example you can ask something like "what's the weather like?" (Maybe your location is Florida and you're expecting someone to say its warm and sunny.)
Someone could then answer something as specific as "its warm!" To something as vague as "depends on the day. "
Any more questions, ask away.
Please @ the player you are asking the question.
When putting someone up for vote please use the title codes around the players name you wish to put up for vote.
Putting a player up for vote does not mean you automatically vote them. You still will have to vote yes or no even if you put the player up for vote. (Maybe you changed your mind or wanted to waste the villages time idk)
When voting please use the vote code function and vote yes the person is the spy or no they aren't.
I will tag all players to vote when someone has been put up for vote.
The vote will go for 24 hours before I make all players who didn't show up to vote auto yesses so that abandoning the game/inactivity doesn't hurt the village or draw out the game longer than it needs to be.
When all players have voted and its not unanimous, you may go back to asking questions.
In your vote post you may add content that explains your reason for voting or not voting, quotes are allowed.
But only 1 post containing the discussion and vote during voting phase. No other discussion before or after your vote has been cast during voting.
Votes cannot be changed once cast.
You may comment on questions and answers during question/answer phase but please limit your posts to a sentence or 2 per question/answer.
You can comment "well that doesn't sound like the place" etc etc to cast doubt on players, etc. But most of the game should be questions and answers and votes. Not a whole lot of discussion.
