By now, wherever you are in the world, you must have heard about the revered Arapocalypsian Council of Elders. The grand battles that took place at Castle Burdus not long ago, were preceded by bloody battles and political intrigues of even grander proportions than any stories have ever come near to touching upon.
The Castle and its multitude of catacombs have not always been there. In ancient times, Burdus was a small sacrificial temple, serving as a meeting point for the multitudes of Gods that were involved in the lives of all of Arapocalypsia. Elves, Men, Witches, Demigods, Trolls, Dwarves, and many other creatures, pilgrimed to the sacred hill of Burdus, to connect with their Gods.
With time, suspicions among the species arose. Greed and worry about other species trying to take over the sacred temple, led Men to selfish action. They barricaded all roads that led to the temple, and soon erected walls around it. With time, layers upon layers of massive walls were added around the already existing ones, and soon the framework to what is the majestic mazework of recent times, had risen.
This was of course not met without resistance, but with Men owning all land surrounding the Castle, it was very hard for any to put up resistance. Those who did were outnumbered and defeated, and forced to withdraw to seclusion in their homelands, with fewer and fewer of them seen for each passing year, and greater and greater areas of Arapocalypsia being taken over by Men.
Time inevitably came, when the resisting forces unified. They had set their mind to breaching the gates of Burdus, and they would take part of the Sanctity that was any Arapocalypsian being's right. With the Elves, the Witches and the Dwarves at the forefront, the Castle found itself surrounded by the forces, and the defense of Men was under threat of being overtaken by the plentitude of surrounding armies...
Cemeteries Mountainous Arson will be mid day 3 when this game starts! It is a 48/24, and its SoD/EoDs are 2 hours after Throne Mash II's when they coincide!
The Aquarium (DM Invitational) will be starting at the same time as this game, at the moment, and is also 12/12! However, its SoD/EoDs are two hours after Throne Mash II's!!
Cults? In a MASH? How can this possibly be balanced?
We've found two main criteria that lead to an "un-fun" (subjectively of course) nature of having cults, being:
Not having a way to solve for someone converting, as looking at their passed posts won't show you what their current alignment is
Someone who is playing to one win condition suddenly having to shift to another.
There are other reasons too, such as having a converted mafia member just out their entire team which is just overall an unenjoyable experience.
While some of these may still be present, we've taken steps behind the scenes to stunt these effects in one form or another. Can't say anything more than that, as the set-up is closed. We will say that this game is more centered around fun and playing heavily off the flavor. Traditional ways of solving may find themselves falling short.

my character will have a redemption arc that was left unexplored in the first mash due to them dying prematurely. it turns out, they also have become trans since since the first mash!
