I did eventually dive into FF11 about four years ago for a month or so to see what it was like.

I only started playing 14 last fall, but it's arguably my favorite title in the franchise (FF6 nostalgia never dies), and actually hearing the music in game enhanced the appeal so much for me. A lot of boss battles are, if not literally choreographed, definitely paced to feel like they are.

But 12 still stands as my favorite FF soundtrack and I've never touched the game lol

Yeah. It's the only mmo I've played but it's great! Currently 150 hours in but will probably get a lot more when I get to the expansions (that's supposedly way better than the base game, which I still enjoy).

I love hearing music in ff14 that I associate with this tourney!

I dunno. Maybe not? I don't think A Realm Reborn is, and that's the first 100 or so hours of the game. I could definitely see someone growing annoyed at how it takes an eternity to develop plot points that could be delivered much more concisely in a non-MMO environment, if you're not enjoying it from an MMO perspective. So much of the early appeal to me was going holy heck there is so much potential here relative to games of its kind, then watching that potential manifest. By Heavensward the story competes with single player RPGs I consider great, but you'll never escape MMO pacing or multi-player content.
