Season 9, Game 8: Mafia! A musical revue [Mafia Championship]

SEASON 9, GAME 8: MAFIA! A MUSICAL REVUE (MAFIA CHAMPIONSHIP)

Welcome to Season 9 of the Mafia Championship!

An international forum-based tournament for Mafia players from all over the world

Hosted By: Our automated @Mafia Host w/ @bopolis providing flavor - @Arapocalypse, @Hally, and @Lissa will be overseeing
    Start Date: June 13th, 2022
Start of Day/End of Day: 2PM EDT
    Phase Lengths: 48/24
Elimination Mechanics: Deadline Elimination (person with most votes is eliminated at the end of the deadline). In case of a tie, one of the tied players will randomly be eliminated. Sleep is a valid vote. Starting Day 2, Majority is enabled, meaning the players can end day early if someone attains a majority of the votes.
Night Chat In Thread: No, thread will be locked during Night Phases
Out of Thread Communication: Only the Mafia team may communicate with each other outside of the thread (24/7)
LYLO Rules: Votes are automatically locked in at LYLO. I.e. when the game reaches a point where one more miselimination leads to a loss, you cannot change your vote once you have cast it.
Minimum Posting Requirement: Minimum 10 posts per Game Day
Maximum Posts Allowed: 150 posts per player per Game Day (restriction is lifted 1 hour before EOD though, so if you've reached your max you can post again at that time).
    3x Mafia Goon
    12x Vanilla Townie

    Relevant mechanics info:

    • Day start.
    • Majority elimination is enabled Day 2+, but majority is not required at any point for the elimination.
    • Tied votes will result in a player being eliminated at random from among the tied players.
    • No outside communication. I.e. you may not contact the other players outside of the thread (unless you are Mafia and wish to speak with your teammates).
    • Thread is locked during Night Phases.
    • Votes are automatically locked in at LYLO.
    • Mafia share a factional Night Kill, which is a single standard shot for their faction. The mafia factional kill is mandatory.
    • Mafia may communicate at any time.
    • Each individual player may make a maximum of 150 posts per day phase (this restriction is lifted 1 hour before day end).
    • The game will have 3 organizers overseeing everything and making sure everyone’s following the code of conduct along with a flavour host, but otherwise the game is completely automated (automatic votecounts, thread locks and reveals alignments automatically, the bot receives and processes actions, etc.).

    YOUR CHAMPIONS

    REPRESENTING: GameFAQs

    NATIONALITY: USA

STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): Time beyond measure (2003)

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: GameFAQs, MafiaUniverse, mtgsalvation

    BIO:
I like to ask a lot of questions. I joined again this year because my community didn't have a rep so I will once again do my best to put my community in a good light. I am an old man now, past my prime, so let's all do our best to get along.

    2) Arete

    REPRESENTING: Chief Delphi

    NATIONALITY: American

    STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): 2019

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: Chief Delphi, Fortress of Lies/Forum of Lies, Mafia Universe, Mafia Colosseum, The Syndicate, Mafia451, MafiaScum

    BIO:
Annio of Viterbo (sometimes known as Annius of Viterbo, among other names) was a fifteenth-century Italian humanist scholar. As you might expect, he was from the town of Viterbo. He claimed to be able to read the Etruscan language, which had hitherto gone untranslated, as well as various languages spoken in Asia. He also published works he had purportedly discovered or translated showing that the Etruscans, and the town of Viterbo, were comparatively important in the history of ancient Rome. He also led an archeological dig in Viterbo, in which he unearthed several marble statues, in the style of Roman statues, which he used as further evidence of Viterbo's importance.

His claims were, as point of fact, false. His works were forgeries, he couldn't even read Etruscan, and the statues he 'discovered' had actually been planted shortly before the archeological dig.

This isn't actually relevant to the game except by the tenuous connection that he is a liar and this is a game about lying, but now you know a mildly interesting history fact.

Finally, since I am representing a mafia site formerly hosted on a FIRST robotics forum, here is a picture of one of our robots (yes, it's glowing blue, yes, the glowing has a purpose):

And here are pictures of my cats:

    STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): 2012

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: Smogon, Pokémon Showdown!, PokéBeach, Forums of Loathing, MU

    BIO:
Yo I'm Cel, 20, a student studying Human, Social, & Political Sciences. My degree is all done in the final exam next year so I can play the qualifier during my revision season it's fine ^^". I haven't played mafia for like 3 years and then two resurgence games were hosted on Smogon and I was still p good at it so 90% of my experience is in role madness, often custom built, setups so applying to a mountainous season of champs was a great idea. Sometimes I get pocketed by scum immediately. If someone pockets me they're prob scum. HF

    REPRESENTING: HogwartsWerewolves

    NATIONALITY: South African

    STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): 2019

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: Hogwarts Werewolves (Reddit), MafiaUniverse (1 normal game and 3 turbos in 2020)

    BIO:
I live in beautiful Cape Town. I'm into surfing, surfskiing, and painting. I stumbled across the Hogwarts Werewolves subreddit forum in 2019 and I soon realised that Mafia is a lot of fun.
Hogwarts Werewolves is an awesome community that prioritizes respect, empathy and relationship-building, while at the same time valuing social and strategic gameplay. I'm super excited to have the privilege of representing them.

    REPRESENTING: Manga Helpers

    NATIONALITY: Israel

    STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): 2011

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: MangaHelpers, Mafiauniverse

    BIO:
I have played sixty five games on Mangahelpers, won as both mafia and townie. Hosted four games and have had probably two dozen unique roles that I played during those times. Repping Mangahelpers for the third time. We never managed to get past round one so hopefully that changes this year. Mangahelpers forum almost never uses regular vanilla townie roles, nearly everyone has a unique role in our games and games usually revolve around figuring out interactions between roles or using them to influence the game, that's quite different from the setup of this mafia championship game, will certainly have to adapt my playstyle.

Writing a bio seems hard, so what should one do at a point like this?
I know, I'll check my community for some quotes or something.

"'COME AND GET ME' Penguino 2k21" - Barwe after reading my analysis of how I play

"I'm considered a champion, by my own rules of the game" - Dani when asked for something summarizing me
So this is what I have to live up to.

HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: starmen.net, Mafia Universe

    BIO:
I'm Ultimate-Gamer. Most people call me UG. I come from starmen.net.

Wow... I'm sitting here trying to type this and I'm coming up with absolutely nothing.

I love all roles but I prefer playing as mafia, love the sense of comradery that comes with it.

For a while I played pretty agro but have since been trying to be a more laid back player.

I tend to favor gut or soul reads over analytical reads. Mostly because I'm not very good at being the analytical type and prefer to base my arguments around player psychology.

I have a bad habit of writing lengthy wall posts that I'm trying to get away from and keep my arguments and reads short and concise but I have so far failed in that regard.

Looking forward to representing starmen.net in these championship games!

    DISCLAIMER ALERT
The beauty of the Mafia Championship is that it brings communities closer together, and it provides an opportunity for players to learn new playstyles, metas and mechanics. And hopefully make new friends as well.

All that being said, the games can also very quickly become overwhelming and frustrating since you probably won't be able to play completely in the same way that you're used to. You don't necessarily need to adapt, but you will probably need to accept that some of the other players will have a different approach to the game than you.

We hope that you will embrace this as part of the experience. It's easy to grow frustrated with people when you don't know them (imagine how you would have felt playing with your friends on your home site if you didn't know any of them when you played your first game together), so a huge part of playing in the Championship is also getting to know the other players in some way.

Specifically, the seasons have taught us that you should be prepared for:
    • A very high level of activity. On average, there will be 600-700 posts per 24 hours during the early stages of the game in qualifier games, and likely more in semifinal/finale games. This is a melting pot of dedicated and enthusiastic players all gathered in one game.
    • You will likely face very different posting styles: Some will post walls of texts with many quotes, some will post a ton of one-liners, and some people will be very keen to interact in real-time in the thread (using the thread as a chat rather than a thread you pop into a few times a day).
    • A flurry of activity towards the end of the day. This means that if you check out 5 hours before the day ends, you should not be surprised to return the next day to see that the wagons were changed multiple times. If you want your vote to count, be careful to not agree to a game where you can never be around for EOD.
    • A few players in your game will probably have played with each other before. This has become impossible to prevent as increasingly many players have played on Mafia Universe.
    • We do not condone abusive remarks and we have banned several communities from participating based on this before, but each season features dozens of new communities, so there is always a slight risk that you might encounter abusive players. If you do, please report them and we'll take care of it.

Past seasons have shown that players get more enjoyment out of the games when they make connections with the other players, so we highly encourage you to join our Discord server either before or after the game.

Finally, we encourage you to at least skim some of the season 8 games to get a sense of how the games usually play out: https://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums...mmunity-Events

WHAT THE $%#! DOES "WTF" MEAN?

Are you not familiar with some of the terminology used by the other players? Maybe this will help you: TERMINOLOGY EXPLANATIONS.
    MAFIA GAME RULES
Rules may vary from community to community, so we highly advise you to carefully read these rules.

    • Only post/talk about the game in this thread. Don't PM other players, unless you are mafia and wish to talk with your teammates. Also, don't post anything about the game in other threads or on other forums.
    • Don't try to use the form of your role PM. So a screenshot of your role PM would be cheating.
    • You are not allowed to change your avatar, location or any other profile info during game in any way that could be construed as hinting at your role.
    • This is a game of lying. Players are expected to lie. No statement or promise a player makes within the game has any force outside the game. As an example, a bet offered in a game is not something you can collect if you win.
    • If we believe you to be bending the rules intentionally in a way that clearly goes against the spirit of the rules, game, and/or championship, then that would also be grounds for modkill and potential disqualification.
    • If you have any questions about rules, send a PM to your host. Avoid asking questions to the host in the thread.
    • Don't ever refer to private communications with the Game Host.
    • If you should ever require a replacement, PM Lissa and stop posting in the thread.
    • No hydra'ing / multi-accounting is allowed. Do not share your account with anyone else.
    • You are not allowed to reference the post-game voting during the game. I.e. you cannot post "if you lynch me, you're not getting my vote after the game" or anything like that.
    • Treat your fellow players with respect. Hostility will not be tolerated.

Refer to this post for the complete, standard ruleset for mafia games.

I will repeat this particular rule once more in big letters to make sure you understand:

DO NOT EVER REFERENCE THIS GAME OUTSIDE OF THIS GAME THREAD. YOU SHOULD NOT BE TALKING ABOUT THIS GAME WHATSOEVER ON YOUR HOME SITE. IF PEOPLE ASK YOU QUESTIONS, TELL THEM YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT THE GAME AND LINK THEM TO THIS THREAD.
    MINIMUM ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
All players are required to make a minimum of 10 posts per game day.

Activity prods will be conducted based on the phase length of the game as follows:

If a player has made 0 posts by 6 hours into a day, they will be prodded in private.

If a player has made less than 10 posts by 2 hours before EoD, they will be prodded in private. This is in addition to the mid-day prod if the player is a 0-poster.
If a player has made less than 5 posts by 24 hours into a day, they will be prodded in private.

If a player has made less than 10 posts by 2 hours before EoD, they will be prodded in private again.
If a player has made 0 posts by 24 hours into a day, they will be prodded in private.

If a player has made less than 5 posts by 48 hours into a day, they will be prodded in private. This is in addition to the mid-day prod if the player is a 0-poster.

If a player has made less than 10 posts by 6 hours before EoD, they will be prodded in private again. This is in addition to the previous prod(s).

If a player has posted 0 times by EoD on any given day without maj, once night begins they will be subbed out as soon as possible.

If a player makes 1-9 posts during a day without maj, they have the full night to respond to the warning. If they do not respond to the warning in time, they will be subbed out.

If a player makes 1-9 posts a second time on any future day without maj, they will be subbed out.

These rules apply to all players regardless of alignment.

The game hosts and tournament organizers reserve all rights to immediately sub out any player who has not met the minimum requirement, regardless of whether or not the player has met the requirement on previous days. Similarly, if players are only meeting this requirement by spamming and/or posting in the last hour of the day, that and similar circumstances would also be cause for substitution.

    SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURE
If your representative needs to sub out during a QUALIFIER (through request, inactivity, or otherwise), your community's backup will take their place, This is assuming 1) you've elected one, 2) they've registered a user on Mafia Universe, and 3) that I'm able to get a hold of them within a reasonable amount of time (i.e. with enough time left in the current phase for the sub to work with).

If I can't get a hold of your backup, I will give the spot to a representative from a community that joined the series late - or failing that, a backup from one of the larger communities.

If your representative needs to sub out during a SEMIFINAL or FINALE game, your community's backup will NOT take their place. Instead the next person who was in line to receive a semifinal or finale spot will take their place.

    FAQ

Are you unsure about how actions are processed or how roles interact with each other? Then read more here:

    ORDER OF OPERATIONS

Actions which modify other actions are processed before the actions they modify. When actions would modify each other in a inter-dependent dependency cycle, they are processed in the following order:

    Passives (e.g. Ninja, Strongman)
    Empowers
    Redirects
    Roleblocks
    Jails
    Doctors
    Bodyguards
    Kills
    Investigations
    Backups

The order in which an action was submitted during the night will not impact the order in which the actions are processed.

    ACTION FEEDBACK

These are the results you will get when you submit certain actions.

Non-investigative actions that do not gain anything from their actions do not get feedback of any kind.

Players will not be informed if their action was blocked or redirected. Actions with reports (e.g. Alignment Cops) will show the target they ended the Night on in the report and tell them if it failed, but not why or how, as shown below.

Investigative actions return results even if the target dies on the same night.

Actions that count as visits are counted as visits even if the actor dies on the same night.

Investigative roles (Tracker, Cop, etc.) when roleblocked:

Your action on Player B failed.
Trackers when tracking a person that didn't visit anyone (or if they targeted a Ninja):

Player C did not visit anyone.
Watchers when watching a person that wasn't visited by anyone (or only visited by a Ninja):

Player D was not visited by anyone.
Alignment Cop when investigating a town-aligned player (or a Godfather):

    Player E is Town
Watcher when watching a person that was visited by multiple people:

Player F was visited by Player G, Player H, Player I
    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I submit my action?
Use the form below the game thread. If your role has a night action, the form will only be visible during night phases. It's not possible to submit actions in advance of the night phase.

What does it mean if Mafia kills are assigned?
Assigned kills means the member of the mafia team that submitted the last factional night kill target for the Night will be the one assigned to carry out the kill. Since the kill is being carried out by a specific person, the kill can be blocked or modified by other actions. Assigned kills can seen by other roles such as Trackers and Watchers. If the kill is set to mandatory and the Mafia do not submit a kill in time, then the assigned killer is chosen at random.

If assigned kills are not turned on, then the Mafia factional kill cannot be blocked, modified or seen by any actions and has no particular person assigned to do it, even if there is only one of their players left.

Where do I find example role PM's?
This thread contains example role PM's for all roles currently supported by the Modbot as well as information on the various modifiers. Here you will find the answers to a lot of questions not covered in this FAQ section.

Which roles can self-target / target themselves?
All roles have the option to go with or without the Self-targetable modifier. Watchers are typically marked as Self-targetable (and will be suggested to the host by the system). Everyone else usually does not not have this ability. This is not a guarantee that your host applied them that way in your specific game.

Which roles are not able to target the same players on consecutive Nights?
All roles have the option to go with or without the Non-consecutive modifier. Doctors, Jailkeepers, Roleblockers, Empowers and Redirects are roles that are typically marked as Non-consecutive (and will be suggested to the host by the system). Everyone else usually does not not have this restriction, including Bodyguards. This is not a guarantee that your host applied them that way in your specific game.

Note that this Non-consecutive restriction applies to what you submit. You will not be able to submit the same player the next Night even if you failed or ended up on another target in the end. You may end still up on the same player if other actions force you to violate a targeting restriction.

Will I be told be told if my action was blocked or redirected?
No. Players will not be informed if their action was blocked or redirected. Actions with reports (e.g. Alignment Cops) will show the target they ended the Night on in the report and tell them if it failed, but not why or how.

What happens if 2+ of the same Blocking roles (e.g. Jailkeepers) target each other in a dependency cycle?
In the case of a cycle of only Jailkeepers, they will block actions lower in the order than their Jail and protect each other. In the case of only Roleblockers, they will block actions lower than Roleblock in the order. This means that the players are still trackable to each other that night by Trackers and Watchers. It also means that if one of them is Mafia and happens to simultaneously be the one submitting the factional kill that night in a game with assigned mafia kills, then the kill, and any other actions lower in the order, are blocked. This same principle applies to longer loops. I.e. in a A > B > C > D > A loop, everyone is blocked.

What happens if 2+ Redirectors try to redirect each other?
Redirection actions only affect single-target actions, so there is no dependency. They will successfully redirect any single-target actions the other has, including any assigned factional kills.

What happens if 2+ Manipulatives with different action types (e.g. a Roleblocker and a Jailkeeper) target each other in a dependency cycle?
Refer to the order of operations for dependency cycles. e.g. Roleblocks process before Jailkeepers.

What happens if a power lower in the order is the first one in a line? e.g. Jailkeeper A jails Roleblocker B who roleblocks Roleblocker C?
The order only matters when the actions are inter-dependent in a complete cycle. Since Jailkeeper A's action is not being modified, their action is processed first. That makes B's Roleblock fail. If there is no other modification, then C's actions will succeed.

If an X-Shot role is blocked while using one of its shots, do they lose that shot forever?
Yes. A 1-shot Vigilante being blocked while attempting to kill someone will not have their shot refunded.

What happens if a Strongman kills someone who is protected by a Bodyguard?
Strongman ignores the Bodyguard completely and kills the original person as if there was no interference.

Can a mafia team choose not to kill anyone during a night?
The host can determine this using the Mafia Factional Kill setting. Kills can be mandatory, optional, or disabled altogether.

The default is Mandatory. If the mafia do not submit a target for their kill, then someone will be chosen at random from among the players not on their team. Hosts tend to do this in order to avoid deadlocked games where the town keeps no eliminating and the mafia refuses to submit a kill. If the game has assigned kills and they do not submi, it will randomize which member of the team is carrying out the kill.

If there is only one mafia member left in a game without assigned kills, can the mafia factional kill then be blocked and/or tracked?
No. The kill is not assigned no matter how many players are there to carry out the kill.

Can the mafia submit a kill for one of their own members?
    Not using the factional kill.

If I kill someone, does their night action, if they have one, still succeed?
Yes. Killing someone doesn't prevent them from performing their night action. Refer to the order of operations. All kills happen at the end of the night, and everyone pulls the trigger simultaneously.

Can individual mafia members actions be submitted by their teammates?
No. If the mafia team want to use a role's action, then the player occupying that slot must submit the action themselves.

If a Lover is shot during the night, while the other Lover is protected that night, does the other Lover still die?
Yes. Nothing can prevent a Lover from dying of Lovesickness.

If a Bodyguard protects Lover A, while Lover B is shot during that same night, what happens?
Lovesickness is not processed as a kill, and cannot be gaurded against. Lover A dies of Lovesickness and the Bodyguard lives.

If there are any Innocent Childs in the game, are these confirmed in the thread right when the game begins?
No. Innocent Children are able to decide themselves when or if they wish to have the Mafia Host confirm their role and alignment in the thread. Note that this is exclusively a Day action and that it can take up to one minute to process the action.

What results are Alignment Cops, Full Cops and Role Cops given if they investigate a Godfather or a Miller?
Alignment Cops are told "Town" for Godfathers and "Mafia" for Millers. Full Cops are told "Vanilla Town" for Godfathers and "Mafia Goon" for Millers. Role Cops the exception: They are told "Godfather" for Godfathers and "Miller" for Millers.

Can Role Cops tell the difference between a Vanilla Town and Mafia Goon?
No. They are told "Vanilla" when investigating either of these two roles.

If I roleblock someone with a Bulletproof Vest, will that nullify the effect of the vest?
No. Bulletproof Vests are passive items that cannot be blocked.

If I roleblock Masons, Neighbors or Lovers with out of thread communication privileges, can I prevent them from talking at night?
No. Talking in a private thread is not considered an action that can be blocked.

If I roleblock a Godfather or Miller, will they still be revealed as being town-aligned to Alignment Cops and Full Cops that night?
Yes. Passive roles are not treated as actions and cannot fail.

    VOTING BUTTONS

You can also quickly vote for someone by clicking on the box with a checkmark icon, which will bring up an alphabetized dropdown containing the names of living players:

This will insert [V][/V] tags with the name of the player you selected in the dropdown, perfect every time.

Click the empty checkbox button to insert [UNV][/UNV].
    HOW TO SUBMIT NIGHT ACTIONS

If you have a night action, simply submit this at night by scrolling to the bottom of the game thread. Here you will find a night action form like this:

Click the dropdown and select the player whom you wish to use your night action on. You can change it as many times as you wish before the deadline expires.
    HOW TO REQUEST A VOTECOUNT

Votecounts will appear automatically at various intervals, but you can also call up votecounts yourself by following these steps:

First, you need to apply to join "Mafia Game Hosts" under Permission Groups.

Second, once your request has been approved, you will be able to call up votecounts by simply pushing the "Post Votecount" button in the top right corner of any game thread that you'd like an updated votecount for.

    OTHER SPECIAL FEATURES

    VIEWING VOTE HISTORY

There are three ways to access the vote history for any game.

    1. Click on the "Vote History" button in the top right corner of the game thread:

    2. Click on the "View Vote History" link, which accompanies all votecounts:

    3. Click on Modbot in the top forum menu. This will give you a list of ongoing and completed games:

Next, simply click on "Vote History" to view all votes for that game.

Following any of the above three steps will bring you to an overview like this one:

Click on a Voter's username to view all of the votes by their slot.

Click on a Target's username to view all of the votes for their slot.

    ISOLATING A PLAYER'S POSTS

If you wish to read a player's posts in isolation, simply click on "ISO" in the top right corner of one of that player's posts in the relevant thread as illustrated here:

Alternatively, you can access a player's posts in isolation by clicking on the number next to "Replies:" in the forum lobby.

Doing so will pull up a window listing the post counts for everyone who has posted in that thread. You access someone's posts in isolation by simply clicking on the number next to "Posts:" for that person.

The ISO view itself has Quote and Multi-Quote buttons inside it, which will make it very easy to quickly quote a lot of a player's posts for analysis or commentary:

    MULTI-ISOLATING

If you wish to read not just one player's posts, but you want to ISO multiple players, then click the "Multi ISO" button to the left of "Game Tools" and select the players in question as shown here:

    MULTI-QUOTING WHILE THREAD IS LOCKED

Note that you can multi-quote posts from even locked game threads. This is useful for when you wish to reread the game and do work during night phases.

After quoting the relevant posts, you simply open a different, opened thread and press "Go Advanced". Then add the quotes to your post by clicking the prompt below the post area as shown here:

Now, of course you can't post your work in the game thread while the thread is locked, but you can copy paste and save your work to a local file or the cloud and have it ready to post the very next day phase (if you're still alive, that is).

    BOOKMARKS

Whenever you open a game thread, you are able to bookmark posts. This is for many players an important tool for keeping track of and remembering vital pieces of information, reads, claims etc.

Also, note that these bookmarks are saved to your user account, meaning that it eliminates the trouble associated with keeping notes between different computers/devices.

If you want to bookmark a post, you simply scroll to the post that you want to bookmark and press "Set Bookmark" as shown here:

This will call up 5 different colored icons (Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, and Black) on the right side of the post in question. You can click any of these icons, which will then prompt you to include a note for the post.

If you don't want to include a note, you don't have to - just leave it blank. The color coding in itself can be a valuable tool. Maybe you want to use Red bookmarks for posts that you find suspicious, Green bookmarks for posts that you find townie, Black bookmarks for posts containing claims, or whatever system you can think of that will be helpful to you.

Once this is done, you have now successfully bookmarked a post with a certain color and maybe even a note. If you wish to remove the bookmark again, click on "Unset Bookmark".

    How do I access bookmarks?

There are two ways to access your bookmarks.
    1. Inside a game thread, you can access the bookmarks for that specific game by simply right clicking on the "Bookmark" button and opening the link.

This will bring you to a separate page that is automatically filtered to only show bookmarks from the game thread that you accessed the page from.
    2. You can also access your bookmarks by going to Features in the site's top menu:

This will bring you to a page where no bookmarks are shown by default. However, you have several filtering options.

You can filter by Game, by Player and by Color - and all of them at once if you so wish.

Here's an example of filtering by only red bookmarks in one specific game:

If you want to be taken directly to one of your bookmarked posts, you just click the post number.

    How do I quote bookmarks?

You can also multi-quote bookmarked posts by clicking the little "+" button seen above on the far right side of each bookmark.

Once you have multi-quoted all the bookmarked posts that you want to quote, you will then have to go to the game thread in which you wish to quote the bookmarked posts.

Here you have two ways of quoting the posts.

    1. Click on "Reply With Quote" on another post as shown here:

You will then probably want to delete the last post quoted in the reply box, but otherwise you should be good to go.
    2. Or you can do the more smooth option and click the "Reply To Thread" button at the top and bottom of the game thread - as shown here:

By doing this you will open up a reply box containing only your multi-quoted bookmarked posts.

I wake up. My joints are sore and my back aches. My @*&%$!# dog made me cram my 6'1" body into a 5'2" couch and now it sits in a pillowy bed easily 4x its size with a smug look on its face.

    *not actual dog
but it looks like an @%$#*&^ anyways

As I sit up, contemplating about how smug the dog will look after I shave its face, I swat away empty Dunkin' Donuts cups and grab my Ipad and start swiping through the various apps I have left open and closing them.

Safari opened up to a half solved wordle from just after midnight> Closed it.

Kindle opened to "The Twilight Saga: An analysis through the lens of a neo-marxist"> Closed it.

Discord; I stop. It seems I have a message from Arapocalypse.

    "Hey Bop!!!
What theme/game name are you planning, for game 8?"

    $%*&!!!

I forgot I was doing this. I need to come up with something quick. What do I do? I think about doing something on the word's greatest cartoon, the 1980's run of the first generation Transformers versus the Michael Bay monstrosities but decide against it. I contemplate going through the ban thread and doing flavor rating the alts of various banned users trying to sneak back on the forum, however I figure the staff would appreciate me not doing that. I thought about doing something about the 90's but then realized that most people now weren't alive or don't remember them which just made me feel sad and old so not that.

Then it hit me, an idea. I sent a reply to Arapocalypse,

"Game 8: Mafia! A musical revue." and I hit send.

Then in a panic I switch over to safari and search "Revue definition" and found out it meant what I thought it did and panic left me.

I will present to you a series of skits and parody songs, created at the last possible minute, based on this great game of mafia for you to skim over so you can see what people really care about, who died in the night.

    Sit back,
    Grab a snack,
and I hope you enjoy the show!

    Preferably in that order.

    Preferable skipping the second part.

Heeeey guys!! Oh my goodness I am actually nervous.

Hope I represent starmen.net and don't embarrass myself too much lol.

Oh! Just wanted to put it out there, my job leaves me a lot of time to sit and stare at a computer screen, but I will randomly get calls have people talk to me, have to leave to take care of tech fires, so I am rarely 100% at my keyboard and will randomly go afk often at the most inconvenient times.

Also! My most available days are Sunday-Thrusday from around 8am to 4:30pm PST. I'm available Fridays/Saturdays but my activity will noticeably less.

Just wanted to give a heads up! Looking forward to playing with y'all!

I walk out of the nearby forest after a day of picking berries and other useful stuff for the weekend at hand, and more specifically for the musical revue on tonight at the town theater. I am excited to go and see my fellow townsfolk at such a marvelous music occasion.
What have they come up with this year I wonder as I open the gate to my nice little house close to central square of town, “Will they finally use one of my songs” I hear myself mumble as I open the front-door before giving a shout out to the wife, letting her know that I am home from a fruitful day [pun intended] in the forest.
I grab an ice-cold 12,5cl bottle of Crémant in the fridge and pour it into a champagne glass, ‘tonight we dine with the fine’ I say to myself as a small cheer while sitting down in my armchair, but also as a reminder to myself that prior to the show I will be having a dinner with the Mayor, the Fire-chief and their wives. Life is indeed great; I hope I get to carry on with this life in this lovely place for a long time.
[Disclaimer: In real life I am studying to be a teacher, and on June 24th I will have my final exam and afterwards the official graduation is ongoing, so there will be a dinner and party afterwards. On June 25th I will be attending the Danish Championship in Flamme Rouge (the board game) where I hope to reach a top 10 placement, if possible. Without having checked if any of those dates are nighttime I will be less active those two days, if still alive, due to other obligations. Just letting you know ahead of time so you won’t be annoyed with missing activity from my part.]

    From our bios? That's interesting.

I think we played a mash together. The less said the better, because I honestly can't remember much.

Okay. It's nice that people are communicating when they might be a bit less into the game, so to say. I will be missing some stuffs every know and then, but will try to check at least some hours per day, though tomorrow will be lacking (Gonna see MCR, hypeee).

    From our bios? That's interesting.

I think we played a mash together. The less said the better, because I honestly can't remember much.

After you voted each other I glanced and noticed you both played at the same place at least once. Admittedly I forgot about spec chat being a thing.

Very slightly +town, first alignment-indicative thing so far I'd say

Oh yes, this saturday I will be extremely busy so again might not be around for EOD D2 either.

I did not foresee being this busy when I agreed to this schedule.

I just graduated from uni and my job hasn't started yet so I'm mostly going to be pretty free outside of, like, sleeping

    ##Vote Achromatic

Alright lets do this bros, wonder how the game will flow with a 48 hour day, not used to one like this.

Alive and kicking for now, indeed. I had a warmup for this game in my home community... it lasted a month and I won day 10 as sk lol. Guess I am warmed up.

Yeah that makes more sense. you even made me read Arete's actual bio, smh.

But yeah we approximately know each other in the same way that you might know some coworker in some other department you only ever occasionally spend 5 minutes with by the water dispenser.

I realize this is probably not how it happened but I'm just imagining your home community being like

'so we're sending Achro to Champs, how do we help him practice'

'let's run a game so he can practice'

'the setup is mountainous, should we run mountainous?'

'no no I have a better idea' runs a game with a serial killer

Haha yeah no it was a super fun split role game that was lots of fun. I had been playing either low energy for awhile before do I wanted to make sure I could still get up and go so to speak. Star Wars pokemon theme. Great read tbh

Yes its random to get conversation going, seems it worked. I guess just cause he is most present in the thread he was more in my mind than other players.

In that case, it's not really random. It's an intentional vote to spur discussion on a vocal player.

sorta vaguely leaning town on Hectic

a couple of their posts on Achro (e.g. P#24) synced up with my initial gut reactions to Achro's posts -- when I actually thought about those posts I was pretty sure those things weren't actually town-AI but Hectic's initial reactions being so similar makes me feel like they were probably real thoughts

Playing sk is similar to playing as mafia because you have to fake reads and work for an agenda, so it tells us he's good at those aspects at least

I think it's different to boasting winning as town which would be not-alignment-indicative
