Supershorty rubbed one of her bandages. That had been far too close. Several Shade-infested creatures had ambushed them today. Of course, it didn't help the gnawing anxiety.
Nor did it stop the group from braking into loud argument. ThePretender and Arete snarled at each other, neither backing down. Wisp interjected occasionally as a few of the others started growling at one another.
AXIS stood back, stubbornly.
That was what doomed him, in the end. Several of the others were ill at ease, and saw his distance and disagreement as a sign of being touched.
Before Sterling could pipe up to object, the others were on AXIS. The Bogsneak screeched and snarled, but six against one was a rather... hopeless fight.
It wasn't until he went limp that Sterling was finally able to make themself heard. "Not Shade. Not the one."
Maeve paced and snarled as the others turned wary eyes towards one another once more.

Night 3
No one noticed quickly this time.
Dawn broke. Kuraihi counted heads. And again. There was someone missing. He counted once more; it was Fext. So. Where was he?
Nobody had seen him since last night, either. Everyone claimed to see nothing and hear nothing. Not even the one on guard, Sterling, had noticed.
Great. They'd have to go find Fext.
And it didn't take long. Once again, everyone smelled blood. Fext was motionless, his once-brilliant feathers dulled and stained. The blood was far from fresh.
A chill ran down Kuraihi's back. He didn't recognise the claw marks as any of the local monsters.

I think Caps is extremely likely to be a wolf based on how that EoD played out
like the three people who ended on him are me + two of my top villagers in the entire game, if that was v/v I find it really hard to believe that zero wolves would've said 'actually I'm going to not stack on the villager who's already getting piled on, and instead vote the villa counterwagon that isn't about to flip and make us look bad'
so the first thing I did was check people's rankings from the vote ranking thing we did against their actual votes, since the ranking thing was really close and the actual vote was less so

Fext - preferred Caps to Axis, voted Caps
Arete - preferred Caps to Axis, voted Caps
Santy - preferred Caps to Axis, voted Caps
Pretender - preferred Axis to Caps, voted Axis
Jmw - preferred Axis to Caps, voted Axis
Shorty - preferred Axis to Caps, voted Axis

I checked Aro's explanation and he said he switched because three of his towns were voting Axis and he didn't want to split votes (which is consistent with what he'd been saying previously) so he's not like outed or anything although it is a bit :eyes:
So I didn't really find a smoking gun there or anything, in hindsight I think this is a /relatively/ less likely place to catch people out since many wolves are going to be uncomfortable blatantly contradicting themself in the span of like fifteen minutes.
So next I went to check out whether everyone's list of four was consistent with what they'd said previously before EoD
Among Axis voters:
Pretender ranked Axis > Caps > jmw > Eph. He had a readlist in P#6040 where he ranked Caps below Axis, though both in the same tier (the other two are consistent with his readlist). @ThePretender -- what changed between that readlist and your ranking at EoD?
Jmw ranked Eph > Axis > Caps > (jmw). He had a readlist in P#5951 where he ranked Caps below Axis in separate tiers (and Mera below both, which is consistent with his ranking). @jmwjmw27 -- same question, what changed?
Shorty ranked AXIS > Caps > Eph > jmw. I skimmed her Iso and didn't see a readlist from yesterday and I'm kinda running out of time so I'm not going to look for Literally Everything Else She Said. She did sorta give an explanation in her ranking post.
Mera ranked Jmw > Axis > Caps > (Eph). I skimmed and didn't see a readlist in their Iso but I do remember them specifically casing Axis near SoD yesterday so their vote is pretty consistent with that(honestly it's a little weird that they had Jmw as someone they wanted to vote more than that)
Wisp ranked Axis > Caps > Jmw > Eph. He has a readlist in P#5577 but I think it's not sorted-within-tier since all the names are alphabetical -- assuming I'm right then he has Axis/Caps/Jmw all in one tier and Mera in another tier, so his readlist doesn't actively contradict his ranking, at the very least.
Aro ranked Caps > Axis > Mera > Arete-as-a-write-in-candidate. He has a readlist in P#6066 which is basically consistent with this. I don't really expect asking him about his vote to be super useful since regardless of alignment he's just going to say he was following his towns, but if he has extra things he wants to add then cool.

Ephemera maybe down half a notch but that's only cause she cased two townies almost back to back
I'm in a paranoid world right now where I was too quick to give aro a village lean and I don't like it here
Man ok, I don't really care if you guys believe this or not, but I actually teared up for a minute or two when Axis died. I had cased them why they are likely not mafia on day 2 and defended against certain pushes against them on day 3 and still voted them cause I went with my town... I was and am still sick to my stomache.
I know I said I want to win this game in honor of those 3 people, but now more so I want to win this game for Axis man.
With that being said, Shorty and Pret are top two town and I believed they are never mafia. I'll white knight them if I have to. Wisp and actually now Santy in leaning town. I realized that when looking over Santy's iso that he was a lot better than I had thought at the time and I can tell he was frustrated that no one was listening to him and felt people would ignore him.
That being said, I am looking at Caps or Eph today.

why Shorty? What are your concerns? I made it very explicit what I was doing yesterday, and I am killing between Caps and EPh yesterday. I made a mistake to follow my towns and I know want to lead/win this game.
Idk if Arete is mafia or not, but I just think Caps is scummier than Arete and I still feel confident in that unpairing.
I am honestly pretty annoyed about that elimination but in the interest of cohesion I am going to do my best to refrain from passive-aggressive comments about it
currently I'm living in a world where if we all try really hard and come together we can stop ourselves from being embarassingly swept
It was alphabetical order except caps was below santy cause technically their user is thecapsfan so alphabetically lower but i shortened to caps when typing cause lazy bones

Caps is still out of his mind for saying that I was being saved near EoD, and somehow links that with people like Mera, who was not here to even save me, from his own words. I juggled the idea of all of us being town, but I couldnt get over the things I didnt like about Axis, ohh well. But at this point its clear that nobody really cared about those wagons
Still the biggest problem with him is that his case on me almost 100% started with a conclusion, that he had to force to justify
First of all, the most important:
WHY IS JMW SO HARD TO LYNCH I cry. Literally the only other people who put them as top vote excluding me was Eph, And idk if I should trust that vote ahhh

other thing is that i’m beginning to get irritated in general (not at anyone specific) that people just aren’t reading me.
no offence arete but you were wondering why i preferred jmw over axis despite my case, and if you kinda followed my posts you’d see by the end i was severely doubting my case - it was more of a choice between someone who’d done both scummy and towny things (axis) and someone i didn’t have anything towny on

that being said after that lynch went through I Alt+F4 and didn't look at the thread until just recently so I might just read how caps treated eod and maybe compare it to how AXIS did

with you and Jmwjmw, it is so unlikely for ur partner who was tr, to then not only flip their read on u on day 1, but to also start a wagon attempt on ur slot at EoD when u were a viable option and could have ended up dying. Just no way in my eyes.
Eph and Arete is their opening conversation and how they went head to head with each other in the very beginning putting the splotlight on themselves. Also, it seemed like Eph was trying to appease to Arete at times later on when they were getting scum read by Arete.
Arete and Caps not together because their passive agressiveness towards each other and there was a moment where Caps said Imma push/vote Arete, and then later on, Caps went "Actually, you right Arete, I have no reason to actually vote you" It felt so genuine in that response and that like "oh, I guess I don't have a reason" that I believe that it is unpartnery.
Eph and Jmwjmw, now this one I will admit when looking back at what Santy was saying and when rereading for myself, it is a weaker one. But the main reason was when Eph entered in the thread, Jmwjmw was a slot that was getting some heat at the time and Eph sort of added to that and cased on Jmwjmw. Then when Mendes started to tr Eph, they thought it was potential TMI on Jmwjmw being town which does feel sort of odd for a partner to say about a town Mendes being so confident with their tr on Jmwjmw. And besides that, Eph was one of the people that wanted to kill Jmwjmw on day 2 instead of Cobalt.

I said Wisp is town leaning, and it's more so because of potential paranoid worlds, but I still believe they are town.
Santy, I feel like you and I started getting on the wrong foot yesterday and I do believe that you your thought process and analysis on Jmwjmw, as well as how you felt about how I was treating you came from a townie. And I really want to discuss with u some of the main points on why u think Jmwjmw is scummy. Because I reread over it and it seems like u weren't just "sheeping Cobalt's argument" but you also introduced thoughts of ur own and I want to discuss those with u.
