NON-homogenous pleasant bleeps and boops! This sounds like an AnCo love song, with slightly cheesy but self aware sappy lyrics, but more down-to-earth instrumentally, I'm into it.
And when Frost read the word "cute", a glow in his eyes appeared. "This is what I was made for!" he exclaimed. This is an anime ending where silhouettes of the characters against a solid color background take turns showing off their battle forms and get into awkward situations along the way, ending with a group shot and a title card. I'm really into the instrumentation on this one, hard not to enjoy.
Honestly this is why anime music is so popular, it can feel really heartfelt with just a few well-chosen guitar riffs. This song is just the first 15ish seconds of an average upbeat anime opening turned into a whole song. To everyone who was beaten by this, which is a shockingly high number, LOL.
This completely passed over me on my first listen, and I'm not sure why because I liked it a lot more on pretty much all the others. This must be how Sabi feels when they're listening to Sabicore. Love the contrast of the light, metallic strings and tambourine and the deep, heavy drums and bassline. Vocals are pretty take it or leave it to me, but the yayayayayas embedded themselves pretty far in my brain. That one autotuned voice they use at the start and end is pretty annoying to me tho.
4. Tanner_FromHighschool: Negativland - This Is Not Normal
How the $%#! am I even supposed to write this song up lmao, I don't even know where to start, but yeah, it's... quite the vibe. Like if The Books had a little better flow. I don't know where tf it's going most of the time or why, but it all works, and it gets... oddly emotional? In a similar way that... well, Books songs sometimes do.
I feel like I'm being gently swaddled and rocked and sung to sleep. This is surprisingly emotionally impactful, on paper there's virtually no reason it should affect me. Every added instrument just perfects the atmosphere.

This would've done well in either of the next two categories too, it's just awesome. Got me chair dancing on my first listen and wanting to memorize the lyrics. Basically no complaints about what's actually in the song, only wish it was longer.
Feels like it's teasing the possibility of melting into spoken word the whole time in the best way possible. Kinda just assumed this would win when I heard it. Unsurprisingly,
