hi koba! i totally forgot who you were in this game.
hi koba! i totally forgot who you were in this game.
i just had a shower thought.
What if the final nightkill was Dark Horses?!? Wow that would have REALLY freaked everyone out!
I don't know what alan would have done...
i don't know what fridge would have done...
That would have been amazing!
I think my second favorite part of this game (after watching sigma klim rule!) was when Lukundo joined.
he's so great!~
we would have probably voted alan given that we were tunneling them overnight (but we did expect sigma to die, not sure how much difference that would have made though)
idk what alan would have done because they townread both me and sigma
but i think wolves would have probably won either way
idk
were you dh?
i was fridge
[QUOTE=Arctic;6557481]BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
DKK they are like 7 years old atp so No Idea brother.
Actually what woulda freaked me out would be if sigma wasnt a wolf and died. I woulda been annoyed about dying if I had and actually quite surprised but I was tunneled on sigma and fridge was my tinfoil alongside that and so I expected alan or tinfoil to die, not tunnel.
that could be fun, as long as it doesn't crash the site, lol.
When we got NKed, we laughed and celebrated!
Yeah I'm usually around, I don't really multitable anymore so I haven't been joining as many games but we'll probably get to play together again!
Same tbh
Although one time I played a game where the day phase was 12 irl days and night was 48 hours
I bussed my partners early and then had to solo wolf for literal months so that wasn't very smart play but I did win lol
You guys had it easy lol
And good thing for Arctic and me since otherwise we would've pushed you incorrectly, dunno whether we would've reached the correct solve or not in the end
Us staying in the game would have facilitated a scum victory, for sure!
I am loving each and every townie in this game gracious enough to say they would have continued to guess wrong all the way up to LYLO, and no one ever mistreating them for guessing wrong in a guessing game.
I am loving how safe this postgame is for everyone to be themselves. And how it isn't a fight to prove how good or right we were.
This is the kind of game I want to have every game.
Also the folks that got Sigma right and moved off because he was villagery.
That is super cool and super okay. And it sucks when that happens to you and greatness was like on MAJ away.
You're all winners this game in my book. I've never been more proud of a defeated wolf team, or more proud of the way townies performed even when their reads and towncores collapsed.
This game is how you react to that. It's like night and day. This is daylight.
one* MAJ away
EBWOP
You had a fantastic team, and it was, all round, a great game!
excuse me
Related to a different game where people got real mad about wrong reads and were toxic all game.
I am showing what a better example game is.
This one. This is the best game.
You did great.
People who guessed wrong did great.
Wolves who lost did great.
Postgame was nice.
Flawless.
oh wait i thought you said each and every townie said they would have been wrong and I was here like "excuse me i called for that head consistently after death too" XDD
Reading incomprehension towntell.
Turns out you're still a villager, DKKoba.
That tell hasn't failed me yet, either. It's now worthless but it's the only towntell that has never failed me in 14 years.
Only the endgame question townwalk process has even remotely close to that level of accuracy and it still failed badly in the other game I was in.
That one is accurate now 97 percent of the time instead of 100.
Villagers don't know who other villagers are and the fog of war makes it easier to misread and misinterpret posts.
Wolves know villagers are villager and generally telling the truth and what theyre driving at because theyve seen the solve.
Wolves can misread, but I havent actually townread a single wolf off of that, that I can recall or know of.
RIP in peace, reading incomprehension towntell. You helped me win lots of games. You never failed me, dear friend.
even incredibly accurate Towntells are worthless once wolves know what they are.
Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
They are the One ring. Super dangerous in the wrong hands. Single handedly destroys sauron otherwise.
Its times like these I wish I could edit posts.
I didn't mess up that spoiler tag. Come on now, MU.
Edit by way of reposting:
After me and Fox got stomped day one and day two for our oh so clever plans, this is funnier, in my opinion MacDougall.
Why I agreed with killing you from dead chat: Because you're dangerous. Because you will snap reassess your reads on a dime. You're unpredictable. You're good, you find all the wolves in every game eventually even if you don't find them early (like me a lot) and you still found all the scums.
And this is while you and your hydra partner were literally fighting over the vote.
And when you do bite down on someone you think is scum, you radiate townie and then usually crush them in a one on one fight. Also like me.
You're as dangerous as me but more accurate, faster. Don't know how you do it.
You have a bad game or bad guesses and that, for you, means you didn't hammer every scum personally.
I tried to pull off a gambit capable of fooling you. Sigma and I managed to..... eventually? But look.
Look how close we got to just straight up getting crushed. As soon as Sigma hit three votes again and again and again on day three, most of the time with you on that wagon, all the confidence I had went out the damned window.
I was like... this is my best tactic. This is my surefire tactic for fooling the very best townies. Championship Finale level townies. Season X Champion townies.
Apoc-level decorated by MU for being a good townie, townies.
And we came super close to being put down Day 1, 2, 3. The sweep.
And I was trying my very best to push a wolf to final 3. Almost got straight up crushed by MacDougall, again, who finds my ENTIRE GODDAMNED WOLF TEAM EVERY SINGLE STINKING GAME.
@Macdougall
Remember this $%#! whenever you feel like you had a bad game.
I have to play my very best day of antispew of all time, and rope a dope as hard as I can with a gamelong gambit planned from before post one even happens, to even have a CHANCE at fooling you.
What was funny was you still almost crushing my entire team effortlessly, while having to fight with your partner for even being able to vote.
And look at all the other townies that almost did the same thing.
And Sigma Keith and Sigmanny, AKA Sigma Balls, are NOT bad wolves. They're some of the best I've ever seen.
Still almost got insta-crushed like a paper cup by all those townies. And putting ourselves in the position to get instantly crushed like that was my only battle plan to ever fool this town.
It didn't work, in the end.
So like, haha, DragonFox and Sigma Klim briefly fooled you, and then Sigma did actually fool you and you only found 2 of us instead of three.
Haha.
Who won? Exactly.
Haha indeed.
This is why as a wolf, I rank how well I did based on how many townies I fooled, and for how long.
Rather than whether we won or not.
Because I wanna know how well I actually did in an asymmetrical game where town wins by force if they just vote correctly, and there's not jack $%#! I can do about it if that happens.
I did really well, in a certain sense. I fooled some peeps after I died, some of the time.
You can fool some of the people some of the time... etc
Not every game is going to be a Mushroom Fiesta. Sometimes town is just good. I rate myself based on which awesome amazing townies can't read my spew, or which ones got fooled by me for X number of hundreds of posts. As opposed to whether I win.
Because if you rank yourself only based on who wins and loses, like... I wouldn't be able to say peeps like neopest and Santygrass smoked me like a ham last game. But they did.
Townies that didn't find every wolf prone to being dissatisfied even with a win on MU. That's the culture that could shift a bit.
Guessing right on most of the wolves and wrong a bit has to be considered a great performance by vanilla townies.
Trying at all, no matter what, and never getting shook and just trying to solve it out, has to be considered solid even if it loses.
We're good players and nuts to anyone who thinks we aren't. Even if it's a little voice in your head saying "but you coulda done better".
That voice is usually wrong.
Townies like Mac and most of the names in this game are folks I try to kill when they're still wrong, to win games.
Barely manage to blow smoke up their butt until they mildly townread you, then kill'em ded.
So they can't do that reassess and find ya. Which they always do.
That's the real fear kill. It's trying to make sure you're only guessing 3 out of 4 wolves before I murder you instead of all four, you crazy bastard.
That's how I defeat MacDougalls, and it's worked exactly one time. Usually he still crushes me.
I was this close to saying in postgame: well.... okay.... but I still found the town PR really fast, right guys? guys?
Lolpizza.
BTW if something like that happens to you and you're a wolf, that's actually something to go, this is the thing I did right, keep doing that sorta stuff.
You take the successes with the failures, you don't judge the entire game off of the result. That's how I ever improved.
Losses where I still made a play, I added it to the playbook.
Town losses where I found 3 wolves or 2, I remembered that, and then learned how that last wolf fooled me.
The win or the loss is the part that matters the least when improving your game. Or, hopefully, enjoying it.
my best scumgames involved me being suspected by multiple alive townies and not needing to kill them because I knew they didn't ever have the votes.
being caught means nothing if they ain't getting you killed
(Also shoutout cobalt qual 1 season 9)
yeah same
i don't really think it's as simple as saying a good wolf is one who is consensus townread
i think being a good wolf is based more on how you play around the villagers to cause the required miseliminations, whether that be through powerwolfing or deepwolfing doesn't really matter, it's more just about how well they actually do the thing that leads to their wincondition i.e. how convincingly they buss/spew their teammates to elevate their positions, how convincingly/successfully they can put together cases on villagers they want to miseliminate, and how well they can play for the future and work as a team. honestly i think i would rank being villagery and fooling people as less valuable than the rest of these skills
even though i think how well a wolf's approach works is more important than what approach they do take in determining how good a wolf is, i do think if i had to characterize an ideal wolf it would be a player who can win quite easily without the need to buss by simply forcing through the required MLs, because this is the most efficient way to win. and also because usually "just getting townread and letting town kill itself while you push nothing" isn't an approach that will alone lend itself to achieving this in most games simply because unless every wolf on the team can do this, then some kind of intervention will be required to stop wolves dying. that isn't to say bussing convincingly isn't a perfectly viable alternative, but i think it's much more difficult to consistently put together convincing cases on villagers than on other wolves as a wolf, and it's thus much harder to pull off time and time again while under the spotlight in comparison to carrying out a single buss + riding out the cred from just one case
i guess i mainly just don't understand why you are measuring how well you do in the game by using a metric that is completely detached from the game in that it removes the fundamental part that is wolf influence
if your townplay is respected enough, bussing is nearly required at some point in the game
well that’s really great news for me
jokes aside i don’t really agree, i think convincing players that you are a villager just having a really bad game is another part of the challenge and depending on the table it can be pulled off. i prob think this way just cuz i generally care more about how people do the things rather than what they do, and i don’t really believe in “X has to pelt a wolf before lylo or they are lockscum” because i don’t think that is a reliable method in a probabilistic game
I just found it funny that I KNEW my readslist was going to be inaccurate, said as much, then townread all the mafia lol.
u mac
