This thread will be used to post announcements, Start of Day, End of Day, etc, in one useful location.
This will make it extremely easy to analyze the flavor come late game, and for announcements to be extra visible without having to ping everyone.

Day One Announcements
1) The Treasure Chest Shop, The Item Shop, and the Shadow Temple are all OPEN today.
The Archery Range is CLOSED while it is being set up. It will open on Day 2.
You cannot enter the Shadow Temple without an item that allows you to See the Truth, such as the Lens of Truth, or the Mask of Truth.
You may only visit one Shop per day, including the Shadow Temple as a "shop".
2) The Curiosity Shop is only open at night. Visiting it does not cost a night action. Every item has a minimum price, but if multiple people try to purchase it, you will bid on it. Choose a maximum bid. Minimum bid is the purchase price.
3) There are no items or rupees to be voted to any player yet, today. So you do not need to pay attention to the Item Voting thread yet. You may wish to subscribe to that thread, however. Highly recommended.
4) You may also wish to subscribe to the Flavor and Announcements thread. Highly recommended.
5) Because it is Day One, "Sleep" will be selected unless a single player receives 11 votes. I went over why in the pregame and the rules and setup. Tomorrow, Day Two, "Sleep" will be selected unless a single player receives 8 votes. After that, no vote minimums will be needed.
6) No matter who you are, you earn income for every Night survived, you can steal rupees from any player (or try to), or you can defend yourself from theft. These are the basic actions everyone can do, without an item. Items grant you more actions.
7) Note that standard actions are at level 1, empowered actions are at level 2, strongman actions are at level 3, and unstoppable actions are at level 4. A strongman protect can stop a strongman kill, for example, but NOT an unstoppable one. There is no counter to level 4 actions. It requires items to do almost all actions, including basic actions, but especially empowered, strongman, or unstoppable actions.
8) 25 posts added to your maximum every 24 hours. Remember the post cap!

Ancient Castle Ikana
The history of Hyrule-Termina
The ancient Kingdom of Hyrule-Termina was once ruled by the Ikanan Dynasty. King Ikana and Queen Termina once held all the lands in Hyrule. The Ikanan Royal Family, the Terminan Royal Family, the Garo Tribe, these were all wiped out in the bloody conflict known as the War of Ascension.
It was a war of liberation for the Hylian people, ruled by a distant and uncaring empire. But neither side was comprised solely of heroes. The tactics used were vicious. Assassinations were carried out, and campaigns of terror against civilians. Cities sacked, towns burnt to the ground.
Part of what turned the tide of the war was that the Hyrule faction, commanding the Hylians and their allies, found the Triforce of Wisdom, which allowed them to know the enemy's movements, and allowed them to spy on them and learn of their war plans. After the war, the remaining two Triforce pieces were found, the Triforce of Courage, and the Triforce of Power. Together, they were known as "The Sacred Triangles", or, "The Golden Power".
These Holy Relics left over from the Creation of the world, left by the Goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru, were keys to tapping into the power of the goddesses.
This is how the world was created. I recommend watching this.
Before the world was created, there was chaos, shadow, darkness, and destruction only. A spiraling, swirling, black void, the absence of anything good or life-sustaining. In order to create a world with light, life, laws, morality, and justice, all of this chaos and destruction and shadow had to be contained.
When the Goddesses made creation, Din made the Earth. Nayru made the heavens, the Light, and the Law. And Farore imbued the world with Life. When they left this world, the Golden Triangles were left behind. Each Triforce representing the power of one of these Goddesses.
The Sacred Triangles
But there was also the Goddess Hylia, who ruled on high above all other Goddesses. And it was She who sealed the Darkness.
The Goddess Hylia
The chaos and shadow and destruction and darkness from before Creation, the Goddess Hylia sealed it away, trapping it inside of a gemstone, which was then shattered by the Goddess to prevent it from being unsealed.
The Unholy Relic
This gemstone, made by the Goddess Hylia, was more powerful than any Triforce.
In fact, only the power of all three of the Sacred Triangles combined were more powerful.
And the power contained within was pure evil.
The power of Death. The power over shadow and darkness and destruction. The power to unmake creation.
The Ancient Kingdom of Hyrule-Termina once held two of the three Shards of Shadow.
Fragments of the Gemstone that Sealed the Darkness, commonly known as the Unholy Relic.
It was not enough to prevent the destruction of the Ikanan Kingdom, or the massacre of their Royal Family, or the Terminan Royal Family.
But something of that Shadow remained, lingering, even in Death....
Anyone who once lived near the Castle of Ikana felt the effects of the shards of shadow. The power over Death remained, however faintly. And the King himself, his royal bodyguard, his soldiers.... much of the Kingdom... was preserved, even in Death.
The skeletons of those ancients still wander the halls of the Castle of Ikana. They roam the fields of Termina. They even extend as far as Hyrule field, where most of the great and bloodiest battles took place.
The armies of stalfos.... and re-deads.... and floating skulls.... and gibdos.... these undead remnants of the Kingdom of Hyrule-Termina, are still loyal to King Igos Du Ikana, whose remains are in Ikana Castle. But those remains do not lay still. And whatever remains of his soul has gone mad and wants only to destroy.
The armies of the undead are bent on destruction and death, and they are all animated thanks to just the slightest proximity to the shards of shadow, which hold but the smallest fraction of the true power of Death and Destruction, compared to the Unholy Relic.
Should this Relic be assembled, and its power unlocked, only madness, darkness, destruction, and death will follow.
And should this Relic be combined with the power of the Sacred Triangles, it would grant even a mortal bearer of this power nearly the same powers as the Goddess Hylia herself. Such a mortal would be nearly unstoppable.
The only counter to this power, comes from the Goddess Hylia. For although Goddess Nayru brought Law to this world, Hylia carries an even greater power, and an even Higher Law. Should the mortal bearer of the sacred triangles or the unholy relic be condemned and executed according to the Law, the Triforces and the Unholy Relic will not protect the bearer from Justice.
It is the Highest Law, from the Goddess Hylia herself: No one is safe from a just and lawful execution.
Present Day
King Igos du Ikana sent his undead soldiers all over Hyrule and Termina, seeking the Shards of Shadow. They were lost to him during the bloody War of Ascension.
Life in Hyrule and neighboring Termina has been peaceful since King Hyrule claimed the throne during the war, and assembled the 3 Triforces together. Peaceful and prosperous.
But just outside of Clock Town, a few kilometers away from Ikana Canyon, someone who traveled that road was attacked by a Stalfos, and just barely managed to fend off the attack. The stalfos had a sword, but no shield. In its bony hand, lay a small purple gemstone.
"A great gift, perhaps, as long as I don't say where it came from." they thought to themself.
But something about the gemstone was too precious to give away....
And they decided to keep it, suddenly feeling far more selfish than usual.
Elsewhere, across Termina field
Another denizen of Termina was traveling on business, and was attacked by a vuture that steals rupees because they are shiny. Acting quickly, this business person took out a pocket knife and stabbed the vulture, which then dropped all the rupees it was carrying.
"It must be my lucky day" thought this business person.
But among these rupees was a small purple gemstone.
"This should fetch a high price in Hyrule Market."
But the more this person looked at the shiny stone, the more and more drawn to it they were.
And the more corrupted by its power they would become.
In the Darkness
In neighboring Hyrule, Poe ghosts and shambling stalchildren littered the graveyards. Deep below the earth, a powerful undead creature held in its hands the last of the three small purple gemstones.
Now that the three gemstones had been found by three different souls, they called to one another, as if Evil itself desired to rise from its long slumber.
It would only be a matter of time before they were all reunited, and the power of Shadow would be unleashed on Hyrule.
Igos du Ikana sensed that a reckoning would come for Hyrule. His bony jaw lacked the flesh needed to grin... but his evil soul grinned all the same.
At last, the downfall of the Kingdom of Hyrule was at hand.
Igos could feel their presence, and sent his armies of the undead toward those who held the shards. Should Igos du Ikana reassemble the Unholy Relic, there may be no stopping his reconquest of Hyrule, and then the Kingdoms would be ruled by the power of Death, and all those left alive would be wiped out and turned into the undead.

Day One
Kakariko Village, Day One
It was a beautiful, peaceful day in Kakariko village. The place was bustling with activity, as the Festival of Time was set to happen later in the month, and people were visiting the village to buy items needed to prepare for the celebration. New tunics, dresses, fabrics, ropes, strings, ribbons... anything with color in it, really. Merchants in town were literally hopping and slapping their knees on the ground, so excited to participate in all the trading.
People were so busy buying items from the shops, saving money in the bank, or gambling their life savings away at the Treasure Chest Shop, that they didn't even realize one of their own was about to die.
Gorman, the traveling Merchant, from Termina.
Gorman, the traveling musician troupe leader, had been without a musical troupe for a while. Turns out he had been embezzling the group's savings. Gorman was a shady character... or at least, had become shady in the eyes of everyone around him, recently.
It seems over the past few weeks, he'd gotten shadier... and greedier. Even he didn't really know why.
He didn't really belong to any of the other cliques in Termina, and having been shunned by the Zora and Lulu's bandmates, Gorman decided to be a traveling merchant and trader, between Clock Town in Termina, and Kakariko village, and Castle town, in Hyrule. He'd made some money, wasn't rich by any means. He didn't partake in any of the gambling. He also wasn't a big fan of drinking... not since his membership in the milk bar was revoked. So, his 34 rupees were hard earned, and never spent. He didn't have much on him. Just a fairly big health bar, on account of being such a hardy, stout, traveling merchant, with access to good foodstuffs and potions.
Oh, he did have a last will and testament. "If I should die, please leave all my wealth to the following name..." So those rupees would be swiftly desposited in someone's bank account today, before Night falls.
His body was found on the road to Kakariko village.
It seems he had been unhorsed by an undead moblin with a giant spear, and torn apart by stalchildren. Nasty way to go.
In his coat pocket (hidden!)..... A shiny purple gemstone fell out. It would be voted on tomorrow, during Day. Perhaps this is why his personality changed?

Night One Announcements
1) Everyone can steal rupees, even without an item. That's your night action, if so. Target another player.
2) Everyone can also attempt to protect themselves from theft. That's your night action, if so.
3) If you have items or other abilities, you can use those instead.
4) The curiosity shop is open at night only. You can visit, it doesn't cost you a night action. PM me your highest bid for one of the items on display, if you care to bid for them. Minimum bid is as indicated.
5) Oh, by the way, and this is important: There are hidden items in this game. Quest items. Some of you have items you do not even know are there. You can find items by stealing them from others.... but.... if you target yourself, you can find out if there are items hidden at your location.
Such as that VERY IMPORTANT SHARD Lily didn't even know she had.
You will need a hookshot to steal items.
Those are on display in the item shop. Cheap. Unlimited supply of them, folks.

Night One
Reminder: All characters in this flavor will have their identity revealed only upon their death. That delays a solve by character flavor, for the time being. Which I consider an important thing for game balance. For now, they will be identified by number, or by "they" or "them". If I slip up and use a gendered pronoun, that's me being dumb, don't read into it.
Hyrule Forest
Deep in the forests of Hyrule, a traveler (Number 26) was making their way through the woods, traveling by foot, wearing a hooded cloak with dark colors to blend in to the night. The traveler meant to avoid the roads at this time of night, for safety's sake.
But they were not alone. Someone was lying in wait, in the trees... a skilled archer. Aiming true, an arrow struck the traveler square in the chest and shoulder, severely wounding them.
The traveler was still able to flee, just barely surviving the encounter, never having seen their attacker's face. The trail of blood was difficult to follow in the dark, in the wood.
Hyrule Castle Town
Long after the gates of Hyrule Castle closed for the night, a robed merchant (Number 20) was found wandering the back alley. Not the safest place to be, at night.... in the dark... away from the center of town....
No matter. It is not the business of the narration to ask why they were there... only to tell you that they were. Among the mangy stray dogs... and the scattered trash.... and the boarded up windows and barred doors. The merchant heard barking and howling, which wasn't unusual, but the behavior and pitch of the dogs and their barking raised the attention of the merchant.
An arrow struck the merchant in the face, knocking them immediately out cold. Left to bleed and die in the back streets of Hyrule Caste town, the merchant had only the goddesses to thank for their continued survival, long after their attacker left the scene.
The severe wounds would need to be tended to, for they were near death already.
Clock Town
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
The heavy mechanical sound of the massive clock in the center of town could be heard throughout all of Clock Town. The sound of carpenters hammering and sawing and preparing for the Festival of Time had quieted, and the usual din of merchants and townsfolk had also died down.
All that was left was the sound of the clock, and the occasional cricket. The clock ticked down the remaining time before the end. Before the end of the Festival of Time, perhaps. Or, ticking down the time remaining that someone had to live.
Someone (Number 12) had twelve hours left until their next appointment.
They certainly wouldn't be making that appointment. Not anymore.
For they had left the safety of walls and decided to take a stroll through North Clock Town.... the region of the city known for its frequent armed robberies.
In fact, there had been a number of armed robberies that took place in North Clock town that same night. Some successful, perhaps, some not so much. It didn't matter, they all got away with their lives, if not their items, or rupees.
But this time, these particular bandits seemed to want nothing at all.... just the death of a certain someone.
Were they working together? Did they even know the other one was there? Was it just fate, that happened to be, a certain someone wandered into two of the same trap?
It doesn't matter. What ended up happening was that a screaming masked bandit attacked from behind the playground structure, wielding a sword. In the ensuing melee, a certain someone was stabbed and suffered a blow to the head.
From the darkness, an arrow was shot, and it landed squarely between the shoulder blades of a certain someone. Blood gushed from these many wounds.
A certain someone passed out from the loss of blood.... as the bandits, or assassins, or whatever they were.... left his body to become a corpse.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
A certain someone listened to the sound of the clock, as their life ticked away, blood flowing from their wounds...
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
The blood flow began to slow.... the wounds were caked in blood. A certain someone had labored breathing....
But they continued to breathe.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
Tick, Tock.
Soon, the sun would rise, and someone would find their body, near death, laying in the road, of North Clock Town.
Soon, someone would rush this person to a doctor.... or a potion shop, perhaps.
Soon... someone would be able to tell the tale of how they survived wounds this severe.
Wounds which would almost certainly kill an ordinary person.
But this one, by the blessing of the goddess Hylia, kept on ticking. Much like the giant clock, of Clock Town.

And not for lack of trying, mind you. I didn't figure you people would die off night one, and you nearly proved me wrong.

2) The Treasure Chest Shop is open, and slightly more balanced than d1. (the first room is removed, making you need only guess the first room correctly to break even.... so you only lose money half the time instead of three-quarters of the time)
3) The Shadow Temple is open, still. New and interesting things can be found there...
4) The Curiosity shop has new items for sale ToNight (Night Two), check them out! Closed during Day, still, but the Curiosity Shop Owner has asked that we advertise:
Winged Boots! For the fashionable adventurer!
Heart Container! For the less durable adventurer!
Postman's Hat! For the long distance pen pal you didn't even know you wanted!
5) post cap will be 15 (yes, fifteen) posts per 24 hours, as voted on by you, the players. Character count will still be 10,000 as folks agreed wall posts weren't the issue... it was the spam. This is being done so busy people can keep up. If people hate it, well, two things: I can raise it back up to 20 or 25 anytime I want. I am Lord. And if you kill off people, being a bloodthirsty mob who kills their own at the slightest provocation, well.... I guarantee you, you will be able to raise the cap per 24 hours back up again. Once we get down to about 21 players or so, the cap can go back up to 25.

Begin Day Two
The people of Termina gathered together in Clock Town to prepare for the Festival of Time, which would play out in the coming weeks. Zora, Goron, Hylians, Terminans, Gerudo, Kokiri, and Shiekah alike. Travelers from Ikana canyon, even a Rito or two.
When the sun came up, the fields and valleys and roads of Hyrule-Termina were full of light and life, and the shadowy ghosts and shambling skeletons vanished from view. The jaws of death stopped snapping, and went silent... so long as the sun was shining, Ikana's influence over the dead would fade. The monsters that had ruled Hyrule and Termina field at Night, vanished back into the earth.
And people began their preparations and celebrations, and gambled and played silly games. And decided who would receive Gorman's shiny purple stone, and they voted on that item here, rather than in the main thread. Just so I could keep track of it better.
(Votes for items will not count in the game thread, only the Item Voting thread. Mind the item voting rules!)
A traveling carnival band gently pounded on their drums, and a stringed instrument and an ocarina played a familiar tune. It was the Clock Town theme! As the song played, the familiar hammering and sawing began, as the carpenters began setting up booths and platforms and new buildings and wooden steps, in preparation for the festival of Time.

Day Two Flavor
Hyrule Castle Town Market
The people of Hyrule Castle Town got together and decided, hey, you know that thing where we don't actually yeet anyone on the first or second day unless we're super sure? And the whole minimum threshold to eliminate someone?
Nuts to that! Silly rule. Why'd they ever employ such a rule anyways?
Well, ladies and germs, it was a long time ago, and they did it all the time in the early Night Of The Werewolf style games on Civfanatics, and like you, I found it annoying to have a minimum voat threshold.
Like those games that require a majority to yeet anyone at any time. Yeeuuucchhhh.
So, I get it.
But, it turns out, those old NOTW games had a point. The first yeets were usually terrible and threw off the faction balances. So the tradition continued... even today, in this game based off of those old games.
It was there for a raisin. I didn't question it. I just upheld the tradition!
Traditions are stupid anyway. By the way, who are we yeeting?
"Haze with a Z".....
Hrmmmmm
Well, Haze with a Z was visiting Hyrule Castle in order to buy some skis, to go skiing, and then they went skiing, on Death Mountain.
And it turns out, Death Mountain is called Death Mountain because there be death in them thar mountains.
Haze with a Z was mistaken for a delicious rock and was devoured by hungry Gorons. Those are rock people that live in a volcano, and when they eat you, it's just like being crushed by rocks.
Yum yum!
So, Haze with a Z turned out to be Dead with a Ski.
(He, he, he.)
And the people of Hyrule rejoiced, and they demanded to see the corpse. Would it turn into a werewolf, or some kind of tarantula monster, or mayhaps an evil sorceror?
Or would it simply turn out to be a Kokiri girl wearing skis?

Night Two Announcements
1) The Curiosity Shop has very nice items tonight.
2) The regular item shop is also open at night time. You can visit a shop (ONE shop) at night and it doesn't use up your night action.
3) Consuming a healing potion doesn't use up your night action, either.
4) Hey, hookshots are cheap.
5) Hidden items exist alllllll over the place. Might be good to look for thems.
6) It takes me a long time to update your items and rupees and whatnots, so if I am slow to respond at night, that's why. It's not just flavor and flip and item votes I gotta keep track of. It's also literally all your items and rupees and income and expenditures and whatnot. I am an accountant, sailing on the wide accountan-sea.
7) Haze with a Z was actually Haze with a will, and their rupees will be Willed to someone tonight. Thanks! Forgot to check. This was placed before they died.
