Instead of a standard factional kill, each night mafia will have access to a factional poison action! This will poison one player each night so that at SoD the player is publicly announced that they are poisoned, and will die at EoD if not healed! With no healer, the poisoned player will always die at the following EoD, so they have one day of knowingly being poisoned!
This is a mentor/mentee game, ideal for newer/less experienced players to get some personal help throughout the game! The way this will work is that each town and mafia mentee will have their own mentor to help guide them in their personal thread/chat. You may discuss reads privately; however, mentors should not impose their reads on their mentees. Mentors should not be speculated, discussed or referred to in the main thread since all mentors will be assigned an alignment before rand. Please ask if you have any questions!
For those unsure of if they should sign up: you are likely to get the most out of this game if you have some sense of what you want to improve on, such as your strengths/weakness, and especially if you want to ask someone a ton of questions about general gameplay/strategy/anything else game-related during a game!! It's a solid opportunity where you can take advantage of unrestricted access to a mentor you can trust with your alignment and pick their mafia brain as much as you want, or even just bounce thoughts off of them; they signed up solely to help you, after all!! I wouldn't suggest signing up if you're looking for a game you just want to low effort as you're unlikely to benefit much, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily a high effort game either; you get what you put into it, really!!
Note: while anyone may sign up as a mentee, if the game fills up with already rather experienced players I may set a limit/ask some to step aside to allow others a chance to play!! Alts are not allowed, please sign up on your main account!

After the game ends (depending on the amount of interest) there will likely be some sort of mentor-fun game, details to be figured out afterwards!!
Town wins when all threats to Town have been eliminated.
Mafia factions win when they achieve Parity.
Votes are automatically locked in at LYLO.
Sleeping is enabled. Vote for Sleep to forgo an elimination that Day.
Mafia factional poisons are mandatory. Mafia must submit a factional poison each night, or a player outside their faction will be chosen at random.
Mafia factional poisons are assigned. They can be tracked, watched, or roleblocked.
Mafia may communicate at any time.
Tied votes will result in a player being eliminated at random from among the tied players.
Democratic Republic of Mafia will be on Day 3 when this game starts! It is a 48/24 and its EoDs are 4 hours after this game's EoD if they fall on the same day!

Hmm, okay; my apologies if so!!! Most of MU consists of alts, so it's generally a safe assumption to make!!

@mollylikesorigami good setup and will be considerably more active and interesting compared to witch hunt
contrary to what recent appearances may make you think, i am very not new to the game, and i would prefer to leave mentee slots open to people who are lol
if the last call for newbies doesn't pull enough to fill the game i might consider it, but no guarantees because classes are back

For what it's worth, lots of people who have signed up are not necessarily new players; while newer players tend to be more likely to sign up, "older" players can too!!!
The main thing is that if you are looking to improve in playing mafia and think you would benefit from having a mentor during a game, then feel free to sign up!!
The list of mentors will not be made public until the game has ended, so mentees can't request mentors because they don't know who the mentors are!!
Besides, if you're only interested in getting mentored by one person and no one else, you may have better luck talking to them and figuring something else out!!!

To clarify the last sentence: don't pm someone and ask them to mentor you in this game!!!! Just pm someone and ask them about mafia in general yourself, in that case!!!!!!!
