Amrock for Best Flavor 13er
Nominated by: Hally
Seconded by: YOLOSWAG
in a game full of great villagers his reads really stood out above everyone else’s. he caught and cased the two deepest wolves D1 and correctly identified them as w/w. he also correctly cleared a bunch of villagers. unfortunately, town wasn’t ready for the truth and tragically mislunched him D2 after he spent the day correctly tunneling a wolf. even though he was no longer alive, villagers looked back on his reads later and his legacy was a huge part in town getting the win in F3. awesome performance.
neopest for Restless Communications Mafia 3.0
Nominated by: Hally
Seconded by: joqiza
i didn’t follow this game super closely so someone who did can feel free to fill in the gaps but from what i saw she absolutely crushed it. she fought off pressure well and avoided getting mislunched, cleared a ton of villagers correctly, outed a literally perfect solve at one point and made a case absolutely burying one of the wolves. it seemed like she was instrumental to turning the game around for town.
dota for a upick 2
Nominated by: DoctorZeus
Seconded by: InstantHammer
In a game with many great performances, Dota the GOATa really stood out.
Despite being perma-POE'd he was a decisive hand in turning round a game that started terribly for town.
On day 1, both major wagons were town...and not one wolf voted either. Despite this terrible start Dota played a great game wherein his cases on wolves, defences of POE town, and, mechanical catch of the final wolf gave town the win
Case in point:
1) His case on Mr.Turtle, the first wolf to die:
This case ended up wagoning Turtle, and, helped us knock Turtle out d2.
2) He was one of the key driving forces behind the next wolf death, Hollowkatt (alongside other town too), and, at this point began his pressure on KOC, wolf 3, as shown here:
3) Once wolves were down to the final two, he went absolutely bonkers on the rest of us to kill w3!KOC, who had been town cleared by lots of the rest of the town.
His insistence and diligence, even saying this like the below, ultimately led to us successfully killing the previously safe wolf KOC:
4) As shown in the quote above our boy Dota also worked hard to town case me, Cape, and a few others as town despite unrelenting pressure on us from the rest of a now highly motivated town
5) Finally, the coup de grace, was Dota's clever use of mech to find the final wolf where he watched Remember get NK'd by @lilypetal. Lily had been considered mech clear by the whole town- and- likely would have end game and won victorious if Dota's watch hadn't been as clever!
In a game that could have turned sour and angry after our bad start, Dota was part of a group of exceptionally chirpy and funny players who kept the overall game feel positive too. This helped create a sense of town unity that prevented AtE and anger ruining the game.
Side note: I bet Dota eats another ban before he can even win the nom though lmao
staypositivefriend for Spiritfarer: A DVC-Involved Mafia Game
Nominated by: Macdougall
Seconded by: BlueKang
SPF managed to endgame as town despite me and most of the town suspecting her from n1 onwards, as town, while solving the game and finding the last wolf.
Arete for Season 9, Game Spec: A Spec Chat Warrior Semi-Invitational
Nominated by: Wisdom
Seconded by: Twice Shrunk
So, Final 3 in Day 7 starts. Left are SilverKeith, a relatively town read town, Twice Shrunk, the wolf who has been seen as town cleared pretty much all game, and Arete, who wolfsided in some key moments and was pretty much set up to be the final misyeet. SK had voted Arete the day prior and was rather tunneled.
Spec chat expected it to be an early vote from SK, but Arete came into F3 with guns blazing and full of wim, despite two higly active weeks of playing! Again and again they argued as for why they were town and why Twice was a wolf, pleading SilverKeith to listen. After a day with the post count of Twice (174), SilverKeith (149) and Arete (177) Arete finally managed to break down Twice's wim, convinced SK (who really deserves a nomination as well for their re-evaluation skills) and got the last vote to land on Twice and town won.
This is gonna be a legendary f3, and everything because Arete did the best late game performance I have ever seen, despite being pushed through the majority of the game and tunneled by their town mate.
Newcomb (as Prof. Plum) for Clue Alias Mafia
Nominated by: Cobalt
Seconded by: Vulgard
Newcomb, 4 hours into the game with his 6th post, posted spot-on accurate reads of no less than five players including 4 villagers and a wolf who became the first wolf casualty. It was quite honestly insane, he correctly called another wolf as partnered before the end of the day and he was the no-brainer night 1 kill as a result.
Gira (as Mrs. Peacock) for Clue Alias Mafia
Nominated by: Cobalt
Seconded by: Vulgard
Gira followed up on Newcomb spectacularly by working with the rest of town to back the last two wolves into a corner, forcing the first one to fake a claim that bought 1 phase but outed them as a result. Gira then correctly analyzed partner interactions to peg the final wolf and bring the gamestate to a point where they actively wanted to concede (and were quickhammered on Day 4 after Gira died).
Limestone for The Floor Is Lava
Nominated by: Twice Shrunk
Seconded by: Askthepizzaguy
Got wolves almost the entire game. also thankfully they did the work for me so you can see for yourselves.
wiggles1993 for Role Madness Automation: Not So Big Or Bad
Nominated by: Twice Shrunk
Seconded by: DoctorZeus
There were 4 wolves this game. wiggles pushed all of them.
wiggles led the wagons on 3 of these wolves. wiggles started the wagon on the other wolf.
wiggles got all the wolves, with only one incorrect wolfread the entire game.
wiggles did this despite some incredibly questionable (secretly genius?) nks that left the claimed parity cop alive, not giving into tinfoil and also protecting the cop from players who did tinfoil them and pushed them almost the entire game (lolme).
wiggles did this despite being pushed for tinfoil because they didn't die either despite repeatedly pushing wolves.
I still don't know why the wolves didn't kill wiggles but by not doing so they allowed wiggles to absolutely carry this game.
wiggles goated

alexa for Squid Game Mash
Nominated by: Amrock
Seconded by: Hally
literally the most dominant town performance in a mash I've ever seen
Aquilla (as Professor Plum) for Squid Game Mash
Nominated by: roro__b
Seconded by: Twice Shrunk
I'm not sure if I can do his performance justice in this nomination but it NEEDS to happen. He posted his butt off (1,1k posts on D2). He endgamed in a game that the wolves HAD in the bag. Like, it wasn't even exciting, the game was supposed to be over. Come the bridge event in F4. Aquilla pulls out super powers. Pushes one (deep) wolf off the bridge, suddenly we have F3. Aquilla again GOATs it up, pushes out the last wolf off a bridge, and bags the win for town. In a $%#!ing 2 town 2 wolf situation. That shouldn't be possible. Dude deserves cred.
neopest for Bastard Mash 5: WELCOME TO THE STORPIVERSE
Nominated by: alexa
Seconded by: bearsquared
She played her role extremely well, lying about it in ways that made wolves think she was unkillable/think she was not a priority target when she was a strong arm vig. She shot a deep wolf and attempted to shoot another and led a lot of Shots onto wolves/town leadered amazingly in late game. She was onto vanity and Nutella when I had them as villagers early and generally played amazingly
Boquise (as Weedle) for Mafia Universe Anniversary 2022
Nominated by: Apoc
Seconded by: Ephemeral
no offence to the "best use of a PR" award...but it's a second rate award and an insult to a man who killed 5 wolves with 5 vig shots
Player who did exceedingly well in a specific game as scum or 3rd party. Include the game with your nomination.
UpsideDownChuck for Covenant of Darkness
Nominated by: c4e5g3d5
Seconded by: katze
Chuck reverse swept.
Chuck reverse swept with minimal bus credit to help him through.
Chuck reverse swept while always being in the PoE due to aforementioned lack of bus credit, but while also never being in serious danger, because he was always just able to put someone below himself.
Chuck reverse swept by not only MLing Pizza, and not only MLing a nearly fullsolved Pizza, but MLing nearly-fullsolved-Pizza the cop.
Chuck reverse swept by constantly posting absurdly convincing cases on villagers that made me, a spoiled spectator, wish I would see those things as town. He never lost any steam or cut any corners, save for a bit on the final day, which is a big statement considering what the average Chuck post looks like.
Chuck is a $%#!ing god.
Vulgard for Dessert Mafia
Nominated by: Guillotina
Seconded by: Hally
I was in the opposing team and this guy subbed into a slot that was slanking and was destined to be PoEd. Vulgard changed that with an incredible about of WIM and stellar townie tone. Even when he was mechanically outed by the Tracker who managed to fight it off and drive enough suspicion to get the town tracker chopped, getting the win for Mafia. Outstanding play.
Visorslash (as Flynn White) for Breaking Bad Anonymous (The Thing)
Nominated by: Kuti plz
Seconded by: DoctorZeus
One of his teammates was caught and was frozen and his other team mate was MIA. He carried himself to victory against a stacked playerlist. The odds were against him but he did it.
Best mafia performance that others should look at.
Saint for Season 9, Game 8: Mafia! A musical revue [Mafia Championship]
Nominated by: Guillotina
Seconded by: Ezradekezra
They almost perfectly faked a town tone and fooled town into thinking they were never PoE material. They constantly set up townies for miseliminations, they pocketed most of spec chat too lol.
Saint was the real deal and the deepest wolf and the fact that they were not voted to advance is a complete injustice in my opinion. So this nomination is justice and someone should second me, so their performance is remembered at least in the awards ceremony next year
Datisi for Season 9, Game 5: Summer Fun, Champs at the Beach! [Mafia Championship]
Nominated by: Guillotina
Seconded by: joqiza
Something magical happened with Datisi, we all widely townread him, he played a perfect game. He only bussed once and that is because he was pretty forced to, im not going to get into those details but after day 1, his play was completely anti-town but he made it look like pro-town, no one of us expected him to flip wolf and rightfully got to advance with a big gap of votes from the second place. Datisi is scary as mafia!
Princess Neon for The Welcome Back Sabi Invitational: Poor Approximations of Characters from Poor Approximations of Television Shows
Nominated by: Kuti plz
Seconded by: iaafr
Neon was mostly threadspewed town for most of the game and hard carried her team.
Schweppes for The Great Nintendo SMASH
Nominated by: Askthepizzaguy
Seconded by: Michelle
In a town full of outstanding solvers, he played against his own meta and snowed everyone who thought they knew how to read him.
As the backup poisoner who can also carry the factional kill, and in charge of finding claims and sending me anticlaims every night, Schweppes personally killed half the town. He just kept killing them so hard, and town was never anywhere close to finding him.
He also made a big play at the end when he hard defended outed wolf Wiggles in final 6 locked votes LYLO as soon as the Day opened.
For whatever reason the entire town listened to him, and Wiggles never died, and the wolves won outright mainly due to everyone first thinking Schweppes was peeked town, but then they realized he wasn't, and they still thought he was so townie he was lock clear.
He was the wolf team MVP, in a standout team, where Zeus and Hegel are strong wolves but still got got by Apoc, but Wiggles and Matt and sub-in AvatarVecna played so well as outed wolves that town was dancing like under their trance, and they wolves got to basically choose which wolves died in what order, giving them a critical extra kill shot on night 4.
The team played well together, and they won as a team, but they would have gotten nowhere against this town without Schweppes the lockest lickity lock clear wolf with 2 kill power per night.
That single handedly almost turned the game back to the wolf side after town crushed them 4 days in a row without a thought.
Shout outs to Matt who baited townies into claiming while waiting for town to kill wolves in the long 48 hour days.
Town discussed themselves into mechanics and suspected each other and openly claimed until wolves had enough anticlaims to do a mass anticlaim shot against 4 townies.
Most other anticlaims failed, because townies were pretty smart about avoiding the claims. One anticlaim failed because it was hilariously a night zero peek Doctor instead of a night zero peek Alignment Cop they sent me on Aldo.
Ummm whoops, if they just said Cop it would have worked. Night zero peek alone should have worked, but they said Doctor and I ruled against them.
They came back with a vengeance by deliberately baiting claims to be anticlaimed.
Matt 250 posted days as an outed mafioso and town ate out of his hands to some extent.
Wolf team was great. Standout performances by many.
Schweppes towers above them all. I don't think a single townie that game or his wolf pals would even disagree.
Well done.
BlueKang for The Welcome Back Sabi Invitational: Poor Approximations of Characters from Poor Approximations of Television Shows
Nominated by: JohnCarter
Seconded by: Wisdom
his was a pretty good lineup of town players. MacDougall was able to catch onto BK pretty quickly, however due to his own play (namely fooling a number of people that determined that he was both polarised and an easy read as mafia), was able to avoid the lunch. Eventually got lunched - but set up the mafia team to win quite nicely.
matt for The Great Nintendo SMASH
Nominated by: JohnCarter
Seconded by: lucy/Wisdom
A brief squiz of the game indicates that both Matt and Schweppes put on a great scum performance. Matt in particular was posting many, many posts (which whilst often incorrectly people thinks that more posts always = better player), served a purpose. He helped town after town die, but specifically - the overwhelming number of posts seemed to be of great help to the wolfteam's anti-claim power. Reading the writeup after the game also makes it clear that he was a team player in this game too - in that he was ready to take a bullet so that another mafia with KP could take down another townie. Looking at the votes, wiggles (the mafia KP) was going to go down until matt took the bullet. Ultimately, it paid off as the wolves ended up winning after the next day.
Wisdom for Closed Light 13er
Nominated by: matt
Seconded by: BlueKang
Her buddies got eliminated rather early and she was always in poe. Not only did she never give up, but she took some crazy risks to get to that point. The players she left alive was a bg claim, an ic, and then lucy and pizza who were masoning the entire thread. The latter capped himself within the first hour of each day and had game winning posts the entire time. The whole town voted out the bg in f5, the ic (me) died and the masons got paranoid and voted each other giving wisdom a huge upset which I respect the hell out of.

JohnCarter (as Lunch) for Harry Potter Mash
Nominated by: Apoc
Seconded by: Twice Shrunk
Nominate JC for best scum performance (mash) for Harry Potter
The sheer WIM and determination was incredible. Got the 70 player game all the way to final 4 and was very unlucky to lose a mylo 2-2 coinflip but if wolves had won the rand i think he'd already have been nommed here.
Why should a modbot rand change whether or not the performance deserves appluase? It shouldn't.
GG JC!!
katze (as squarebeared) for Bastard Mash 5: WELCOME TO THE STORPIVERSE
Nominated by: Shad
Seconded by: Hally
This was a win for the ages.
Bastard mash is bastard, and that can give rise to unconventional scenarios. You know, like being an unflippable Godfather. Sometimes these things just happen.
But there comes a point in every wolf's life, usually preceded by the words Hit, No One Died, when the gig is up and you are free to post adorable cat gifs into the sunset. Oh, sometimes you give it one last go. but somewhere deep inside, those fuzzy loveballs are staring up at you begging to be unleashed. Maybe that's why you claim something like a Choose Your Own Role Bulletproof Innocent Child. Of course no one will buy you opted for that over an investigative or killing power, but hey, meme it up and have a good cackle when your lynch fails. Hell, even tell the vig to shoot the player you know is going to flip instead of you. Winky face.
There seldom comes a point in a wolf's life when two Hit, No One Died, one this player is unlynchable, and a failed vig shot are all on the table. But funny things happen when villagers don't get what they want. They become disgruntled, malleable, open to letting some other charming personality call the shots. A mechanically confirmed liar and the target of their last dozen kill attempts not withstanding, who better to lead them than you?
This is not the full story of how katze convinced 13 players that there was not a single wolf among them and lead a truly wild three day goose chase to an imaginary mechanical solve that involved shooting his invulnerable effigy over and over again while yeeting the benign NPC Lord Quas Husk, who did nothing wrong. Nor does it capture how brazenly he shielded his partner, the only unpeeked player in the game, with the entire village's consent. Words cannot give justice to such madness. But this is a katze nomination for best wolf performance in a mash.
Brian Eighties for Pokémaf Generation 1 Mash
Nominated by: Transcend
Seconded by: Object
Despite having a rough hand due to several of his partners getting steamrolled by incredible village night action usage, Brian played the role of lost wolf really well.
He did not know any of his teammates, but was able to go through the game without pushing a single wolf. His ita lists were all pure, his voting record was on all town, his ITA shots were all on town, he wolfsided incredibly hard.
He also survived for quite a long time with this play. He fake claimed a protective role to buy more time to use his day vig to shoot powerful town roles. Brian went under the radar incredibly long until being caught at the end of d4 when people finally acknowledged his voting history and when he got cc'd as protective.
Brian's meme game was on point too which led to members of the village that died rooting for him because he was that hilarious.
His personality and impeccable lost wolf play combined earn him this nomination.
Phighter for Pokémaf Generation 1 Mash
Nominated by: Apoc
Seconded by: alexa
During Day 2 of this game I watched as Phighter made shots list after shots list of players I believed were town.
Worse, they were players that both NKs, Abraham & Amrock, also believed were town.
At this point I decided that Phighter was probably a wolf, and that given the number of townreads he had, the thread was being controlled by wolves. So when Phighter died, I immediately went about rooting out his evil cronies!
Except I never found them, because they never existed!!
Over the course of days, I slowly came to the realization, that Phighter had in fact, power wolfed all over this game thread by bamboozling almost an entire village to do his bidding!
I had a shortlist of about 6 players who i believed might be powerwolfing alongside Phighter...and every single one of them were villagers, many of them died for their Phighter townreads. With every villager flip or claim I was more and more impressed by what he had managed to do on D2 of this game.
Power wolfed...alone!
That's not how that's supposed to work! You're supposed to have a whole team doing it!! He just did it anyway.
I think one could easily credit at least 4 or 5 villager deaths to some combination of Phighter's D2 thread control, shots lists, misassociations, and general bamboozling of so many villagers. Some of these dying long after he was already in DVC.
He played one of the most pro-wolf games ever attempted...and did it all while being almost universally townread.
Just look at these villagers' reactions to his Flip on D3. Absolute astonishment.
Well $%#!ing played sir.
DuckQueen for Mafia Universe Anniversary 2022
Nominated by: LanMisa
Seconded by: DoctorZeus
Ducky was having a breakout game, posting and posting and posting and posting and... after usually having low-impact wolf games. That made her (nearly) universally townread for basically the whole game despite not having a single mechanically clearing thing going on for her. She ended up posting over 1400 times over the week and sacrificed many an hour of sleep to be around all the time despite EOD being close to 2AM.
In these posts, Ducky not only made herself look like locktown, she also hard defended a lot of wolves, distracted village from more important topics of discussions, helped spread misinformation (like the "stack" from wolf Marshadow and town Multiverse on Hero), kept town in POE, gave valuable input with regards to night actions and overall was a very important figure in keeping wolf morale up when everything looked bleak and lost. There is a reason we renamed DuckQueen to DuckGod on the Wolf Discord server!
All in all a phenomenal game, the only surviving wolf that was high impact over all the days, our deepest wolf and THE key element to our success. All hail Ducky, the DuckGod!
Player who did exceedingly well at deployment of a power role randed to them in a single game. Examples of these potentially cover someone making multiple accurate shots as a vigilante, a great save as a doctor, etc.

Sherlock Holmes for Spooky Halloween Game
Nominated by: matt
Seconded by: Askthepizzaguy
He played this game like an actual Sherlock. With very little to work with in the form of a PR, Sherlock was an odd night tracker, a fairly weak investigative role. However, on night one, he caught a very deep wolf, lilypetal via his track result, and also one of her partners. Holmes played this very cool by not revealing his hand for an entire day phase enabling the village to push out the other wolf PR, and when he made his grand reveal, there were three wolves dead with only one wolf left to defend very early on.
Michelle for The Great Nintendo SMASH
Nominated by: Askthepizzaguy
Seconded by: matt
In order to dodge anticlaim and also potentially rattle the Mafia, on Day Two, Apoc the Odd Night Alignment Cop revealed that he was a Private Chat Cop.
He said that DoctorZeus and Hegel were both in private chats.
Hegel confirmed and Zeus confirmed that they actually shared a private chat.
Since Apoc has redpeeked Zeus, and Hegel was the mafia Godfather, Hegel just accidentally mechanically outed herself to Apoc's bluff.
He basically thought Hegel was wolfy and took a shot that they were wolves together.
Turning a single fakepeek of red into a bluff that the wolves fell for so hard they gave up their Godfather for free and then turned around and lost 4 wolves back to back to back to back.
Were it not for other mitigating factors, like the Anticlaim, or almost no one suspecting Schweppes, town could have stomped.
Also, Michelle and MacDougall and Apoc and others shared a neighbor chat thanks to Michelle's goat neighborizing choices, connecting a Cop and a Doc together in a place the wolves couldn't anticlaim them.
Michelle claimed stuff on behalf of Meat Loaf / MacDougall and also Apoc. The wolf team kept trying to anticlaim Michelle but the claim kept being wildly wrong.
The neighbor chat was the perfect way to dodge anticlaim, and Michelle kept the entire wolf team out of it, on the advice of folks like Apoc and Meat Loaf.
Michelle and her GOAT neighborization and Apoc's crushing bluff almost destroyed the whole wolf team.
They had also found five of the six wolves by the end, more or less. They outed DZ and Hegel, crushed them back to back, and sussed Matt and Wiggles and AvatarVecna.
If not for Schweppes and his GOAT Anticlaim choices every night, town would have stomped mainly due to everyone in town solving for several wolves, but also, MVP Apoc and GOATEST Neighborizer Michelle.
Second these noms please.
Apoc used a cop to peek a wolf, that's not amazing. What's amazing is he leveraged that into destroying their Godfather too, by dodging anticlaim and bluffing so hard that the wolf team literally outed a third of themselves publicly so Apoc did not have to claim his role correctly AT ALL.
Michelle neighborized a Cop, A doctor, and nothing but lock clear townies after that, allowing Apoc and Meat Loaf to continue making claims and dodging anticlaim if necessary.
Wolves almost didn't stand a chance against this duo, making it a trio because Meat Loaf also doctored a bunch of villagers but he was being blocked and protected by another townie without his knowledge.
They did amazing and in a standout town full of great solvers, these two gave truly exceptional performances through the use of power roles.
Ideally I'd see them both win, so two separate categories.
May the best player win.

billymills

This is entirely based on a wacky coincidence tbh
In both Bastard Mash 5 and in Anni (as McGipherson), billy happened to be the first wolf to die, and in both games he was granted the privilege to remain active in wolfchat after death (in bm5 as the only member with this boon). He contributed immensely to the night action planning and strategizing throughout these games which ended in victory for both wolf teams. While not everyone was entirely satisfied with how allowing dead players to contribute to wolf chat played out, it is undeniable that it allowed billymills to show his strong skills and dedication in mechanical/night action strategy despite dying as a wolf early on. Speaking as someone who also died early in both of these wolf teams (and particularly in Anni where many of the dead wolves helped), not everyone has the stamina, dedication, or mechanical savvy to contribute as much after dying in a large mash, but billy was an extremely valuable voice in both chats and talked through many crucial mechanical decisions.

arogame123 for The Welcome Back Sabi Invitational: Poor Approximations of Characters from Poor Approximations of Television Shows
Nominated by: matt

This game was pretty tough for town and that's to be expected because every single player in this game is really good and it's hard to find 5 wolves in a stacked player list. Town was eating itself alive, but a fresh perspective prevented them from getting swept entirely. Aro subbed into the game in lylo and helped turn the game around dramatically. His reads were absolutely fire. He more or less had the solve in one of the most difficult games for a village that I've ever seen. The wolves weren't having any of that and immediately killed him at night without looking back.

Recent examples being Vulture of a Desert of Men where she helped get out 1 to 2 mafia members and ate the poison from mafia, and she's also had SpiritFarer where her reads had very good accuracy and she was universally townread and ate a night kill.
Overall, nice to have in games and someone you can count on to give a good effort.

Joindate August 2022 and I've played ~2-3 games with this person and they've played in one of mine. Absolute joy to play with as either alignment. Also a very strong town player as I experienced the brunt force side of it in how he basically single-handedly reverse swept Mountainous 100 after I subbed in as a wolf on Day 2 and we got to LYLO quite quickly. He was a big voice of reason in The Coalition which was quite a contentious game given the small size, and also made significant contributions as Captain Brown in Clue Alias Mafia that I just hosted.
Even when actively trying to pocket him I found it quite difficult to do so despite us getting along very well in the thread. He is just a friendly, genuine, lovely player and he has also proven to be quite skilled. I can't wait to see him wolf, because from what I've experienced it would be terrifying.

After taking over a year away from mafia, Julia began playing on MU and immediately was making a huge difference in games.
Every mash Julia has played in, mafia has spent kill power whether it was Night 1, or any time on Day 2, to get rid of her.
And in both Midnight Mash and Pokemon Gen 1 mash, all but 1 of her townreads before dying were correct.
Her normal town games Julia also played well, especially Cats Themed PR game where she used her role to out majority of the mafia team. Julia's reads in the most recent Hydra game were mostly correct as well.
And in the small amount of turbo games she played her reads were very accurate.
Julia remained a very dedicated player, and a dangerous asset to whatever side she's playing on, and is always fun to be in games with on top of everything else!
Player whose overall gameplay has displayed the most improvement since the end of the past calendar year. Newcomers to MU are only eligible for this award if they are not eligible for the Best Rookie category.

Coming off of a ban for a pattern of blowing up at people who disagree with his reads, Brad has spent his time away from MU working hard to fix that. Not just in a this-won't-break-the-rules way, but a this-will-help-my-team way. He gives others' thoughts real consideration, he's gotten far better at casing his reads than he ever was when his go-to method was "be louder", and though his explosions were often how he got townread as town before, he's clearing himself just fine without them. His accuracy has also just gotten better the more clearly he's articulated his reads.
The issue of his wolf game remains, but there's incremental progress there too. Slowly but surely.

When I first started playing with TP I thought he was a coinflip player that was just there to meme in games, but since then he's become very good at developing his reads as town and has shown a massive improvement, to the point where I'd probably be a bit weary of him if I were scum against him. His performance in S9G4 was great too and he was so close to the final solve and really made it seem like he was listening to each player equally.

Fontana
Nominated by: c4e5g3d5

Font doesn't have any wolf games this year that I know of, so this is only in terms of their town game, but last year they were a perennial slanker, frequently not or poorly explaining reads and usually being a non-factor, and they were killed by town KP in every single town game of theirs. This year they're basically the opposite of that, becoming a consistent threat to wolves and only dying to town KP once, and picking up a few NKs including a N2 in one of the stronger champs qualifier lists. They've become a player who makes you consider joining games because they're in them. Never would've guessed last year.
Player who consistently gives it his all, whether it works out or not.

I think it's easy to see why - regardless of alignment, pizza will make post after post after post doing things that can't really be counted as fluff.
In a recent f3, I saw pizza post some of the biggest walls I have ever seen, one after the other - in fact, pizza probably holds all top 10 slots in my "biggest walls" list.
I think it's a testament to their dedication just how much content they manage to put out and at times it can honestly be kind of overwhelming.
I'd also like to mention that I've noticed this tendency to post walls isn't limited to just the game, you are almost guaranteed to see a few pregame in the signups thread and even more postgame just spewing their thoughts.
This is an extremely easy nomination for this category.

LanMisa is always fun to play with, regardless if we are the same alignment or not. Imo he brings an important positive aspect to each game he plays. Also a person who is easy to cooperate with in a hydra acc.
Furthermore, Lan is graceful in both defeat and victory. Primary example is Anni, where Lan, playing as his alt Naoto, showed an impressive wolf play, won after openwolfing, and kept being a good sport afterwards. When you win despite open wolfing the village, there is a certain allure to show some schadenfreude. Lan was chill instead. Post game also included criticism of a wolf role (some criticism being unfair), and whilst one could goad villager salt, Lan discussed instead. Considering that some criticism was unfair, it is easy to respond in kind. Lan's approach and demeanour in both games and post games decreases toxicity. That's why he is the most enjoyable player on this site. Good team player; good opponent; good sport. Always a friend on MU discord tbh.

And I don't mean just this year, every year.
Let me talk about my history with moth. First couple times I played with the guy, I yeeted him to sky daddy and he was town. Meanwhile, he just kinda sat there and quietly pointed at wolves and chillaxed and did his thing. No grudges.
Then I dedicated myself to not yeeting townie moth. And for a while, I got better at this. I saw moth as being one of those dudes who always arrives on a chariot driven by chill.
In the recent Gimmick Game, moth did his usual thing except it was every post. He arrived on a chariot driven by random things, the funnier, the better. Also, lots of animated gifs.
He didn't react at all when I accused him. I died after yeeting a wolf d1. He opens day 2 accusing a wolf and being sad I am dead.
He doesn't give a crap about your wrong accusations. He just keeps his chill and finds wolves. I don't know how he does it. He's pretty tight lipped about his process. But the $%#! ain't random because it's rare to see him not accuse a wolf sometime as town.
Also recently, his team was getting run over by town. Six townies appeared out of nowhere and struck down his teammate Good Question with fire and thunder and fury, and moth is out there fighting for his teammate while accusing really townie people of being wolves and arguing with Beck about how he invented all the memes. Not just the good ones, every meme. And acting baffled that Beck hadn't ever heard of him or his greatness.
And he and Wisdom distanced from one another like the only two surviving wolves in a team that's about to get $%#!canned, and throughout it all he kept his upbeat and positive mothy attitude.
He needed to personally survive long enough to block the town bodyguard who town read him, so he could shoot the town cop. His partner wisdom begged for a day, and Moth claimed a commuter power which didn't help him one bit, and I was saying he needed to die and was my top suspect.
Still, town decided to give moth a day, and that's how we lost our cop. Bodyguard blocked. Boom, bye cop.
And after all this, Moth is on his way out the door and needs to give a fake solve or he's outed. Not one person had the guts to say I was a wolf, except moth.
I asked him for who the wolves are, and he was all. "Well, you, for starters."
It had been a tense game. I hadn't laughed all game. I was upset at another game at the time. Moth was in pure lolcats troll mode, and his solve of me wolf, and blank other name, made me bust a gut laughing.
He and Wisdom distanced some more, she didn't vote him, we yeeted him to sky daddy.
But even after he died, CrimsonFox was sad because he only joined to play with Moth.
Perplexity was sad because he had moth as lock v all game, and kept mentioning moth.
Everyone adores moth.
Even after he's dead and flipped wolf, people miss that guy.
I miss that guy.
And when I leave, I am GOING to miss that guy.
He never makes me feel bad. He always makes me feel good. He wins as both alignments, and does it with a lot less effort and fewer words than I do. He's a genuinely good player, but in a crowded field everywhere else, this is the category I feel he is most deserving to win.

2) Hilarious arguments as to why she is town and others are mafia:

Always comes with a good effort, has good results, brings fun posting in thread, and is enjoyable to talk about the game afterward with. Just an all around positive to the community and any game they are in.
Player who excels at being a good teammate for their alignment. Examples of being a good teammate don't necessarily necessitate that player dominating for their alignment in the game. The award is moreso geared towards a player who keeps morale up in wolfchat, did a lot of work in a mason/neighborhood chat, was a good thread captain as town, etc.

This nomination might seem weird if you're just going off of his reputation before his ban for most of the second half of last year, but he's a very different player.
As a wolf, hk has always been heavily a team player. He plays hard pro-wolf, but he doesn't seek endgame glory, because one of the things he does most is set villagers up with his spew. He somehow does it while also usually wolfsiding hard while alive, even though you normally can't do both at the same time.
As town, hk has become less assertive and forceful than his past self, but it doesn't mean he doesn't influence games. He emphasizes listening to and amplifying unheard voices, and getting people to look in directions they've been ignoring. They're cliche things, but his persistence makes them actually work, and he can turn threads around completely unexpectedly in town's favor.
The main example I have in mind is Guillo's Tactics 4. Somewhere near early-to-mid D2, Twice is hard tunneling me and townreading wisteria, I'm townreading him and pushing wisteria, and most of the thread, including hk, is wolf reading Twice and ambivalent on wisteria and I. hk gets Twice's attention to talk to him about some of his reads. He gives Twice time and clarifies details of his reads with him, then comes out with a townread on Twice and says he's willing to sheep Twice on me. He starts pushing and interrogating me next, and gets more content out of me by instilling a sense of urgency. After he gets me to talk more about my own reads, he switches to wisteria and gets Twice to townread me (though with assistance from me dramatically outing my main but shhhh), and the day ends with wisteria flipping wolf. He, Twice and I were all v.
He was the main reason two villagers got out of PoE and a wolf died, just by the power of talking to people, and it didn't even take accuracy. That's what I imagine this award is for.

pizza is legitimately one of the scariest townies I have ever seen, and that's an opinion I formed without even having to wolf against him myself. He has a crazy ability to continually re-evaluate his worldview, honing in on the correct solve very fast (chances are that he has caught the majority of the wolfteam by D2), so even if he misclears you for a while he will quickly rectify that mistake.
Adding onto that, pizza is loud. He's able to get people to follow to him on his (usually) correct reads and once he locks onto you it kind of just starts to feel impossible to survive.
He's usually nked early on because of his excellent reads + ability to consolidate townies around him which I think makes him deserving of this award.

He's one of the fellas you can trust to always deliver a performance that you can take notes on. His posting is always framed in an engaging way, which makes you actually want to engage back - helps create more benefits to the greater town.

She's shown this in games like Super Mario Team Mafia, Cats vs Dogs, Bastard Mash, etc.
As mafia, she's very good at replicating her town game while still getting townread and pushing wolf agenda, Season 9 Game 2 being the chief example of this. Went deep with good tone and is effective at creating a gamestate favorable to wolves, she knows how to distance and interact with her teammates and the best times to do it.
Pretty much has all the aspects of what you'd want in a villager or wolf.

He is great at both alignments, across all three formats- turbos, normals, and mashes.
Turbo's
His turbo persona "JohnCarter" is a solvey towny player (prone to some FPS) who is ace at identifying town & catching wolves, and, a fearsome wolf who can easily plough through and beat down unassuming towns!
Mashes
In mashes, despite being in an inhospitable time zone, he commits to dominating performances.
As town in Anni this year in around 2 hours in day 2 he killed off me (a wolf) and caught a series of other wolves- getting SPK'd later that night. Hell of an impact for 3 hours!
As a wolf in the Harry Potter mash earlier this year, JC was the lone wolf for the final two days up till f3, balancing himself perfectly and taking the final vote to a rand!
Normal games
Through the famous JC walls (see this article here), his ability to town it up, and, his razor sharp analysis he takes on the role of town leader killing off wolves left, right, and rhubarb.
This is most obviously shown in the Swag City Invitational, where in a stacked player list, JC took on the role of town captain, and, claimed some very impressive scalps.
I've not seen him wolf in a normal game- but- by all reports....He is terrifying.
Conclusion
This is the man you should vote!

There were some other good village performances from this game and they worked together quite spectacularly, but I think those two stand out for their own individual nominations. Honorable mentions go to Captain Brown (Prince J) and Colonel Mustard (BlueKang), but they are the reasons why I'm nominating the whole team instead of just the two main standouts.

It's hard to peg down who exactly was responsible for the win here because there were just so many accurate players this game and they pretty much just walked over the wolves. One wolf died D2, 2 wolves died D3, and the last conceded after that as they didn't really have a path to victory and were at the bottom of the PoE.
And while this wasn't a clean sweep, it was pretty damn close and I believe this team deserves the award anyways because they displayed great cohesion in finding each other and great reads by finding the wolves and giving them barely any wiggle room.
From D2 onwards, it just never really felt close which I think is also demonstrated by the wolves quickly losing motivation for the game when it became pretty clear they were getting $%#!ed.
Overall a very good performance from a town that really came together and had so many accurate players that it's hard to peg down a MVP because they all played that well.

They completely outplayed us and stomped us into the ground by great teamwork, managing to find each other, a majority just towning it up and not letting tinfoil get to them. They managed to find all the correct puzzle pieces. We wolves had no chance to win tbh.

Every single wolf managed to get in the towncore D1.
Despite quite a few good subs repeatedly messing up their plans and town starting to wise up as the game went on, they managed to hold it together and bring home the win pretty comfortably.
Their team cohesion was one of the best I’ve seen. Wolfchat was full of memes and was really more than just a wolfchat - it was a very positive and supportive environment where they had fun.
Overall a pretty dominant performance from a very deserving team.

Overall it was a pretty dominant performance with wolves winning comfortably (only 4/10 died).
It never really felt like the village was in control and we had to fight very hard for every wolf kill, and even then we ended up killing like 5 other villagers first.
There were a few deepwolves and even the players who weren't all that deep were still in comfortable positions and there were always villagers to shove underneath them.
Solid wolf team performance that didn't really give village the chance to make things close.

I'd taken a number of breaks from participating in mashes over the years due to timezone reasons, etc., but this mash wolf team was truly enjoyable, and I found everyone was willing to pitch in. You often see a few more individualiistic approaches in a team this size, but, everyone in this team seemed to be playing for a group win. Good comraderie and jokes, which helped later wolves keep their WIM up against a great town. Maybe I missed out on some other good wolf team noms though, so, nom others for this category!

Sunbae and Vulgard (Sun and Moon)

As for Sun and Moon, I can imagine several people reading this are saying "but they lost". That's not why I'm nominating them. Their interactions with Tunnel Vision in the game were what I consider to be a masterclass in pocketing. They were able to establish a relationship with them early on, maintain that manipulation up to the point of their elimination, and fake several mindmelds with them, in a way that convinced other players that they were wolf partners in the wake of their flip. It was insidious and amazing and worthy of nomination.

So yeah, lots of strong names from that game. I gotta go with winning team, vanilla townie, whose reads were effective, found our deepest wolf, didn't fall for literally any of my shenanigans that fool most anyone I've ever come across, and was so widely townread that they were a forced murder at some point, and since we'd lost 2 of 3 wolfbros by then, Sigma didn't want to even risk leaving them alive for one whole day to make it less obvious they'd caught the deepest wolf. One of the most, if not the most accurate townies, was VT, was a forced murder, found the deep wolf, found the other wolves, radiated townie, in a game filled with very strong townies is actually the one I remember for being the most directly dangerous to us, and we lost to others come endgame mainly because leaving them alive to kill us on day three just loses even faster I guess.
Also I understand Koba is retiring so how bou' da' for a sendoff.
Since there aren't other nominations for hydras, I get the ball rolling with the one I most feared and respected and so apparently did my teammates because they chose to kill em and I didnt recommend it but they clearly felt they'd lose with them both alive so yeah.

The game was very well run and full of excellent flavor. I wasn't very interested in the theme initially but the mechanics they used with role cards and stats and how that manipulated several different outcomes such as a) Death b) ITA Rate (Both hit% and number of shots/day) c) in-game item usage was really well thought out and a pretty interesting take on the stat dynamic we've seen in other mashes. They turned me around on the theme pretty quickly and I was very happy to have played it.
It was also full of varied events that gave way to lots of different skills but also was not limited to thread campers or those with limited availability during the day. I think several mashes that incorporate events could take a lesson from how the hosts implemented theirs. Events are one of the things that make mashes so unique and it was nice seeing something that awarded people for artistic skill, trivia knowledge, adventurors, puzzle solvers, etc and made it possible for so many to partake.

This year he's hosted:
- Pandemic Mash
- The uPick series
- The Help Test series
- Floor is lava
All of these are highly experimental, high variance, and gloriously fun. But be warned: leave your concerns about balance at the door!
The reason I really want to nominate Twice is that as a host, Twice brings to the community a consistent march forwards as we help test new ideas, and, allow players to play mechanic heavy games without the pressures of a mash! And- he does this whilst setting up (mostly) fun games!
Arapocalypse and Garden Gnome
Nominated by: Askthepizzaguy
Seconded by:
Arapocalypse has been organizing and running events, hosting games, overseeing games, and is fun to chat with in wolf chat and dead wolf chat and my guess? DVC as well. She's also hosted not only important games of the year but also fun concepts. I found out by clicking her name and seeing threads she started. Because I remember the hydra game I was in, and she did a great job overseeing that game and being a fun presence in wolf chat, and I wanted to see what else she had done all year.
It's A LOT.
And Garden Gnome, I tried to do the same thing but mainly other people start the threads, so I found all her work by finding Arapocalypse's work all year, and lo and behold, half of those games Garden Gnome wrote flavor for.
So for Season 9 Game 2 Writer's Block, which I isoed to see what the flavor was like, for Starfish versus Sharks, which I also isoed to see the flavor there, and The Night Before Terror, which I also isoed to see the flavor there, and it's consistent.
Gifs, storytelling, humor, atmosphere. Effort put in, silliness or spookiness or both.
Now, why would I even think to dig to find Garden Gnome's work all year, or Ara's?
It's because they've consistently been a great host, and great flavor writer, and great duo for both, year after year after year, and I missed most of the year, and the category for best flavor writer was empty until I got nominated, the category for best host had like 2 nominations and neither included Ara or Garden gnome, and I know for a fact these folks host, and host good games, and host flavorful games, and MU wouldn't be the same without them.
I wasn't even there for most of it, and I still knew these folks would be carrying most of the flavor for the year, and much of the hosting for the year. And, doing it together a lot.
This is a dynamic duo that deserves another nod.
I feel like flavor writer often gets overlooked, but Garden Gnome also hosted, and cohosted with Ara, and Ara did lots of hosting, and there was flavor in most of these games.
I'm one of those people that doesn't want to see the "flavor" category vanish, whether I was there for most of it or not.
So I'd like to nominate both for best Host, because they're the complete package:
1) Multiple games
2) Multiple great games
3) Flavor almost every game
4) Innovative setups
5) Organizing and recruiting
6) Running them smoothly
Etc.
And they do it so well and so often maybe they're being a little taken for granted.
So, for hosting hydra game 5, organizing the hydra event, being entertaining as hell in scum chat, for a lifetime of achievement spanning multiple years, and being one of the most active and helpful staffers outside of all that (and a supreme wolf and townie in big bad games too) - Arapocalypse
And for being such an enjoyable player, great flavor writer, and consistently great cohost for Ara and flavor provider - Garden Gnome
Put them together and you have great games year after year and 2022 was no different and they're worthy competitors for Best Host, and Garden Gnome could certainly get a nod for Flavor Writer of the year as well.

Despite being the middle of Summer, Illwei created an incredibly dark, hilarious, and festive themed murderous flavour centred around Illwei trying to hunt down the evil Santa who cuckolded her daddy, and, finding vengeance against her mummy, the betrayer. Added points for:
- Failing to post flavour during one night, and posting it in the middle of the f3
- it being a turbo
- her choosing to not play the turbo because she thought she'd pass out, but then just staying up to write the flavour anyway.
- Calling ladd her mommy

Pizza, who is single handedly the most creative person this website has ever met, made a 25-player role madness game with everyone's favorite Nintendo characters. His storytelling was so captivating and even had bits and pieces of night actions and people's unknown identity in the flavor, but not in a way that it was game-breaking. He did such an amazing job and I am BEGGING you guys to give this man an award for his tremendous flavor-writing skills. Normally I don't read flavor, but I read everything Pizza wrote frontwards and backwards and my God I'm just so marveled at his writing skills.

Gimmicks Only (by Guillotina)
Nominated by: Askthepizzaguy
Seconded by: Cobalt
The concept was a breath of fresh air, and it would require a lot of close policing by the game host to make sure everyone stayed in their gimmick.
The game was a stomp by town, and the game was a wacky nigh unreadable mess.
No idea how any of us found wolves. But very smart people found one or two at a time and just crushed it.
Memorable gimmicks: Vegeta (as Vegeta), Lilypetal (as cuteness incarnate), Prince J (Drag Queen judges), Beatrice (Investigator's inner monologue), Moth (Moth, only more Mothy), BATMAN (BATMAN), The Joker (The Joker), Michelle (Nothing but movie references and quotes), Jaleb (Magic Cards Only instead of text), Wade (Rhyming gimmick, which I can say as Gruntilda, is HARD) even Macdougall (little girl who wants her mommy).
Haze's Gimmick was needing to construct posts out of someone's quote. I figured it out and then wrote a post containing every player name, and the words scummy and townie and natural language, so Haze could quote that one post and freely accuse whoever he liked. And then he NEVER DID.
That's hilarious.
Day One was Batman and the Joker memes and drag queens and rhyming schemes. Day 2 was moth running over the drag queen judges, and then Phraze self destructed for the win because too many people had been spewed town from the d1 and d2 yeets of scums.
Beatrice found every wolf, by the way. I can't emphasize enough how amazing this player is even though I have seen them play in person once, and dove them once.
Whoever you are Beatrice, you literally are a better villager than me.
Keep playing. I am your biggest fanboi.

It was a pretty enjoyable 21-player game with nice flavor and a cool playerlist. Although town pretty much got all lynches right, it felt like both sides still had plenty of chances to win. Also, the roles were pretty unique and the graveyard system allowed dead players to still impact the game in favor of their alignment, having plenty of roles that could interact with the living and the dead. It turned out to be a very fun game to play in.

A very hype game, not only with phases being the opposite of the usual, but alignments as well - opposite phases was a very nice change to have from the normal!!! The flavour was wonderful, and there was a lot of solid play from both sides!!! Mafia play in particular, with the usage of PRs/general mafia cohesion, but also town made some very strategic plays that would likely have seen the game go on for quite a while!! Fun events as well, just an overall rather hype time!!!

JOAT 10er turbo
Nominated by: benneh
Seconded by: Hally
Turbos are fun, carefree games most of the time, and the original deployment of Cop/Seer 9ers was great for a long time. As this went on, however, with great village play and general familiarity with the setup, the setup became more and more 'solved' and townsided. In the recent turbo championship, town had somewhere near a 75% winrate in Cop 9ers. While winrates were inflated due to meta familiarity, this was still an extremely high winrate for villages.
In addition, many people just did not enjoy playing around a cop and having upwards of 3 cleared players by day 3 and felt it was too hard for wolves to win if they did not hit seers or their peeks early enough.
The natural evolution of turbos saw the introduction of the Vig 10er a few years ago. Winrates have stabilized to be far more balanced than cop 9er games and people have grown to love it. However, growing concerns with the setup and meta arose.
Because of the huge amount of town KP in the game, the ability to kill 60% of the entire playerlist with town-driven kills should the vigilante survive, the meta stagnated into requiring wolves either find the vigilante very early or just virtually always hard bus their partners. While admittedly the winrates were more balanced, not many people enjoyed this style of play or the excessive amount of kills it gave otherwise poorly-performing-villages. Others just grew tired of the setup in general.
Enter the JOAT 10er.
Monstrman proposed a setup that would take the best of Cop 9ers and Vig 10ers that would help to curb the balance of having a cop with unlimited peeks or a vigilante with unlimited kills.
More than that, it provided the ability for far more interesting mechanical decision trees each night for both wolves AND villagers with the inclusion of additional utility without compromising some of the balance achieved from Vig 10ers. Initially, Monstr introduced this as a village JOAT with 1x Roleblock or Track, Cop, and Vig, but he shortly after adjusted for the JOAT to be a relatively unconventional 1x Cop/Vig/Doctor. This provided the village with plenty of utility required to assist in solving the game and enforcing a tougher but more fun decision for the JOAT and wolves to play for and against on each successive night.
Post turbo championship, the JOAT 10er has quickly become the turbo player favorite among a crowd nearly equally split in their love for Cop 9ers and Vig 10ers, often with some players opting to not play either setup. The JOAT 10er, thus, has not only provided a fun, balanced, and interesting setup for turbo players to enjoy, it has actually helped facilitate MORE turbos as players were less likely to not play in a particular setup based on how recruitment was going.
I think this should be a clear nomination and, IMHO, should be the clear frontrunner to secure the award at the end of the year.

(i'm making this nomination rn and i'm gonna repost it once the 2022 nom thread opens)
nominating hello what is happening i feel better as funniest moment
painting the picture : it is d2 of squid games mash. "red light green light" was an event that ran throughout the entire day. tl;dr of rules, wolves can control when red lights are posted, which kill whoever posted before the moderator's post of "RED LIGHT". first person to post after a "GREEN LIGHT" is awarded a public dayvigi to use.
the first person to die to a red light is a wolf, roro__b, probably one of the few deepest wolves. then arapocalypse (a wolf) is shot by a public dayvigi won from the greenlight. not looking good for wolves.
arapocalypse has laid out the entire plan of how redlights should be handled in wolf chat. after mac has seen the deaths, he took charge and wanted to pay back the village (ara wasn't alive at this point). and so he did, killing only villagers for a short period of time.
but then champ, a wolf hanging in wolf chat, dies to a redlight. after that, a green light was awarded and wiggles was taken out, yet another wolf. mac couldn't go to sleep under these circumstances and so he decided to spend a few more minutes to take a shot at the village.
thread context at the time of this image : a lot of cleared and good villagers are itt, any kill would be good for wolves at that point (a lot of wolves were PoE'd and awaiting death, town was very on track with kills). wolves received mac's orders and complied. this sounds like a good scenario for the wolves!
maybe...i'll let you see with your own eyes what happened
ace marvel, a middle of the pack wolf (not really suspected) posts this 1 second before the red light, saving a villager from dying
lol @ the odds of this happening in the context of wolves dying to green lights almost as much as red lights and any kill on villagers would be good. if ace had posted that 2 seconds later, maybe even 1 second with some server timing luck, markoraj would've died to the redlight, a very decent target for the wolves to kill.
even mac couldn't help it but laugh despite the horrible scenario

Enter SPF. SPF comes into a thread where she's tied with vanity. for top wagon and begins to defend herself:
The problem here is that this is objectively and blatantly false. SPF had not so much as mentioned DZ before he died.
A few villagers fact-checked this and reported back to the thread:
SPF responds, and back-and-forth ensues:
Despite like five villagers confirming that SPF was blatantly lying, this was somehow persuasive, and ultimately, SPF was not either of the top two wagons:

In anni 2023, in the OP it was announced that mafia had many fake claims - regardless of how almost none of them were used!! To set the scene in lategame, Naoto Shirogane had claimed investigative, hadn't been in the thread for nearly two hours, and it was almost EoD!!! 7 seconds before EoD, they pop in with a vote, changing the day's result to kill a villager:
While many (the graveyard) might consider such a vote to be outing, the remaining living town did have 45,000+ posts to consider and ended up passing it over!!! Anyways, we come to day 7 where at the end of the day the mafia only needed to kill one more town!! Admittedly there was a larger wagon on a villager, but Naoto came in again with 7 seconds left until EoD (pretty much just for the memes at this point):

Nominate Apoc for best fake claim for owning me and Lucy and avoiding the anti claim like an absolute pro. also seems doubly smart because he also assured in a game of fake cops, he verified he wasn't
context;
N1 a fake town cop flipped
Apoc claimed a neighbour cop on me-lucy (actually had a red check on me.)
we confirmed neighbour.
apoc then knew red check likely true, caught Lucy as well, and, avoided the red check

Help Test 3
Keeping in mind the main two alternatives that day were Generic and Annulus, one of which was a wolf, and I had already started insisting Generic vote both suspects, and vice-versa, odds were good if I could ever town read Generic, Annulus and Fluffy Rabbit would have been forced to vote each other, and that doesn't help either of them even if one does flip wolf.
Wolves win when they yeet townies and kill townies at night. Instead I made sort of a three way thunderdome between Generic and two wolves, and rather than give me any leverage to sort who among the three might be town, Fluffy Rabbit went full antispew mode.
It made it so TripleHaven, Nanook, and Annulus didn't get any lower in my POE than they already were. It is possible they survive my assault since I had a few names that were town before the next wolf accused, after I let annulus go.
So, while it can be argued lolcatting is a mistake here, it didn't help me find his mates any faster at all. In fact I let one go.
It took the rest of town fixing my POE for the rest to get got.
And the images were beautiful.

I acknowledge that this is not what the category is """"intended for"""" but Manatee's manatees were a joy to see, and certainly qualify as entertaining. Every time I saw a new manatee it made me a little happier.
Here is a collection of manatees:
Oh fml I'm never gonna get this under the image cap just go find Arete's post

Dude is one of the best werewolf players out there (as both alignments). I use the term $%#!poster loosely, but he has some hilarious humour at times that always cracks me up, and he always delivers with style lol

I also want to nominate Arapocalypse, for being constantly online to help people even with stuff not associated with moderating the discord. She has so much WIM in games as town or wolf, so much WIM to be a staffer for years, so much WIM to help run games and organize things, but she goes above and beyond and is constantly there for me.
Maybe this is a me-centric experience, but if it is, then that should bear out when the voting happens.
Otherwise, I'd like to thank Arapocalypse for being everywhere and helping everyone and always having maximum WIM to help the community.
Warmest regards.

Really stepped up (even more than already, somehow???) this year from what i've seen. Did a lot of heavy lifting with champs, much of it behind the scenes and thankless. Same applies for the the hydra season - organised all the polls and such from what I saw. Ran the awards night last year. Contributes to community discussion. Friendly and fair. Good person.
